Wonderful place. We spent a long weekend at The Domain with our two dogs. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant and it’s wines are a absolute must. On the parking are two charging points for your electric car. We we’re recommended to download a app “Balade an Bourgogne “ and this is fantastic because you get commentary while you’re walking through the vineyards and hills. The only downside was, our wonderful suite was in the dependance and the WiFi is not very good there. But that can be a positive factor to cut off from the world outside and enjoy your stay at the Domain de Saulon

The location, the property and its garden!! The hotel staff is very kind! The restaurant staff as well. The food is good but not that exceptional anymore as some years ago. But ok the price was way higher as well in that time. Good room, not big, but good for one night! Breakfast is good! Overall price/ quality is good!!

The ‘head’ of the bed is not hygienic. The marks of heads were seen in the fabrics of the head of the bed!! The bathroom of the restaurant needs un update. Paint etc….

The Longiere Deluxe and suite rooms are very charming with nice big bathrooms, terraces overlooking a stream, and nature views (ask for the top floor). The restaurant is truly excellent. The dining and communal areas are super gorgeous and charming. The staff are very nice and friendly, which is not a given in France.

The castle rooms badly need renovation and the whole hotel needs a manager who can shine it up and notices details. The place isn't very clean (the maids don't mop and their vacuums are from the 1950s, so they don't have a carpet brush or do a good job).

Absolute perfection - I couldn't fault it except perhaps some of the clientele who I found could be a bit rude to other guests or staff unfortunately (of course, not the hotel's doing). Outside of that, it was perfect - very comfortable room, great value for money, beautiful music played throughout the grounds, bar and breakfast available, and pool. The grounds and rooms are stunning and I'll definitely be back!

The only downside I found was unfortunately the land seems to be a bit small so while I was excited to go for a cycle and walk around the yards, it actually seemed to be extremely small and my ride lasted only a few minutes. It was nothing major, just something to recognise if this is an activity you hope to do! If I'd been staying longer, I would've asked if you can take the bikes off the property which would make the use of the bikes a lot more valuable if you can.

Amazing castle, beautifully decorated. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. The garden with the pool was perfect although end of the afternoon there are not enough sun beds for all the guests. Nice seats in front, perfect place to have a drink in the evening. The rooms are clean, pool towels available, amazing soap/shampoo provided. The bed is super comfortable and the aircon is working perfectly.

The breakfast could have been a bit better in terms of quality and quantity for the price of €22 but that’s a minor detail. And our fridge was placed inside a cupboard so we couldn’t open the door without lifting the whole thing, badly positioned.

I loved the hotel. It was friendly, elegant and charming. The breakfast was splendid. I have never seen such a strong selection of patisserie. The restaurant was superb but the truck could have had a wider selection of food if there was no room service. It was amazing that we could borrow bikes to cycle to Gevry Chambatian. A perfect excursion on the wine route. Amazing for a stop off on the wine route.

It could have had a spa. My daughter thought the stairs led naturally down to a spa. Our rooms were burgundy. My daughter thought strong male colour choice, good for a Buisness man. I would have preferred white so it was brighter. When our room got cleaned our towels were not straighter on the drying rack.

Our 5th time retuning on our annual drive from the UK to Italy - we love this place. It's clean, friendly, and has a brilliant restaurant. The grounds and the property are both stunning, plus the air con in the bedroom and electric car chargers are very welcome features.

The property is very grand, with so many great features, but the only place it lets itself down with is the outside patio furniture on the rear terrace - it is very cheap and uncomfortable, and doesn't reflect the rest of the facilties on offer. Although not essential, the introduction of USB plugs and fridges in all rooms would be nice.

The breakfast, although pricey at 22 euros, was an excellent buffet with many choices. Our room was comfortable & although we are used to a firm mattress on our bed, this one was fairly soft but very comfortable & we had a good night's sleep.

Th choices in the restaurant were very limited! Just a set menu with 2 main course to choose from. There was a small a la carte menu posted outside the restaurant, but this was not available. When we checked out we questioned why the restaurant choices were so limited & were told that they were training new staff. There was also a German coachload of people staying at the hotel & we obviously had the same menu as them!!

The Chateau de Saulon has everything one could want for a relaxing stopover. Stunning chateau, quiet and comfortable rooms, large grounds perfect for relaxing walks after a long drive. Plenty of choice at breakfast, restaurant serving excellent meals, professional service, and best of all dog friendly.

Hoping they will get round to installing handrails at the front entrance steps; getting up and down while carrying luggage can feel a bit precarious.

Excellent bedroom in the Longere. Good menu in the restaurant. Exceptional buffet breakfast. Plenty of areas to park our car. Lovely grounds.

Just one thing - the area outside our ground floor room was covered with debris from the roof making it difficult to not walk it into the room eventhough we had slippers to wear. I did ask the lady at reception if it could be swept away, but she was not receptive to my suggestion!!
