i mean, you go there for one reason and one reason only: it’s a soviet-era throwback with soviet furniture and you can get a taste of tskaltubo’s glory era. no idea how it compares with any of the other hotels in tskaltubo but i don’t care—i wanted a retro soviet experience and i got it. that said, as a hotel, it was clean, staff were reasonably nice (especially the guy at the lobby bar!), and the bathrooms were updated and modern. the pool is nice too.

only real complaint is the breakfast buffet wasn’t great, could’ve used more things like fresh fruit and yoghurt. the property is a bit shabby but again, it’s a soviet-era hotel. i loved exploring the unrestored abandoned other half.

We stayed there because of the history of the place and to explore the abandoned resorts of Tskaltubo. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

There were plenty of miserable people about (not including the reception staff). It doesn't hurt to smile once in a while. I have no idea what I ate for breakfast....i copied the Russian lady in front of me and ended up with some porridge style stuff which I regret. I really regret. I'd rather chew nostril hair.

Location was perfect, but Dont like the linens of bed, it was very old and smells like it was not cleaned well, cant sleep comfortable becouse of it.

The location was fabulous, making it easy to explore the grounds and wider area if interested in the history of Tskaltubo. The staff were all fantastic - friendly and helpful, helping to create an absolutely unforgettable stay. For history enthusiasts the traces of the past are there, you just need to look a little closer. Kindness always wins! Having read previous reviews I was surprised to find that breakfast was tasty with a wide selection of food options. The bathroom was refurbished to a very high standard and the shower was great. The room was well equipped with slippers, dressing gowns, two mugs & two glasses (although no tea: coffee) and a kettle. There are two wonderful stray, black dogs (pictured) who seem to reside at legends, they may look scary to some but were gentle souls who joined us on long 5+ hour walks on multiple days.

I really enjoyed the stay, however, the images on the website are not a complete likeness. Legends Tskaltubo is visibly more run down than advertised although this wasn’t a problem for us. Small details were missed, for example, the fridge was not plugged in which would have been useful during our stay.

- The feeling of being in a sanatorium where my grandmother had stayed several times! And the chance to see some leftovers from 40 years ago - Filling meals (not fine dining really, just some staple Georgian food); an all-you-can-eat buffet for 35 GEL (lunch) or 40 GEL (dinner) is a good deal for those who eat a lot, but maybe not so much for those on a diet - Properly renovated bathrooms - 5 min walk from the Bathhouses #6 & #1 - Friendly staff, permitted us to stay for an hour longer past the check-out time for free

- Ridiculous shower without a door or a curtain; the towels on the hanger easily get wet. Why does a good modern bathroom come so often with functionality sacrificed for a stupid trend? - No fridge - Something flickered periodically with a white light in the corner of the ceiling at night; was it a smoke detector or a malfunctioning light bulb? - The atmosphere at the swimming pool, including the music, seemed to be completely out of sync with the overall feeling of the place. And the plastic Elvises on the ground floor of the dining hall just freak you out... - The fruits served for the meals were completely unripe, as if bought in a supermarket, — while nearby at the Tskaltubo market they could've been bought just as ripe as they should be

The historical aspect of the hotel is amazing. This hotel is an experience and it gives you a chance to feel that you traveled back in time. Photogenic and full of plants. It's clean, it's comfortable. Breakfast is decent. On site parking is available.

They are living from their past glory. The pool has cold water. Not all the facilities are up and running. Entering the hotel with the car is confusing (no signs, old Georgian guy working the barrier to enter the premises, who doesn't speak English). If you explore the premises, there is a good chance you'll be yelled at.

Travelling from Turkey into Georgia we picked Legends off the map as a perfect looking spot to stay a night on the way between Batumi and Tblisi. We had no idea of the treat to come as we arrived in a post Soviet landscape of a spa city with a massive history of entertaining and curing and providing rest and entertainment for the top brass ofThe Red Army and others. The hotel is housed in one of the grand buildings, one of the Sanatoria in a tree filled garden and park. It is beautiful and very well preserved, a warm greeting and a very comfortable room. We were fortunate to meet the Owner Andro, who in his perfect English told us the fascinating history of his inspired hotel project over a bottle of Georgian wine in the comfortable bar. Just north of the hotel we headed into the hills to visit the spectacular Okatse Canyon. If you get a chance to visit this hotel it is one of the biggest highlights of Georgian social History and we counted ourselves incredibly fortunate

The hotel has vast beautiful grounds. Rooms are well kept with intentional resemblance to the Soviet Era. Breakfast was sumptuous. We had some trouble with our car during checkout. The hotel staff were most gracious in helping us out.

Not taking away anything from the great experience we had, the hotel desk ties a plastic bracelet on your wrist which can't be removed till one checks out. Found it a little weird but maybe it's because the hotel spans over a vast area and they don't want outsiders to trespass in their property.

Staying here is a unique chance to stay in a sanitarium, albeit one renovated to a modern standard. The chance to swim was great and we were allowed to walk around the un renovated wings of the building

Parts are a bit dated, something of an identity crisis, with a DJ and pool with bar. We were under the mistaken impression that there were spa facilities included, but these are actually only some unclear treatments you can pay extra for. The buffet dinner was convenient but expensive.

The building is a newly renovated old sanatorium, and you can completely feel the architecture of the 20th century. The territory is huge. It has breathtaking verandas and connecting hall. Our room had two divided bedrooms (paid just for two people). The pool is very comfortable, with 3 different depth and bar🍸 . The breakfast is fantastic. The dining hall is so esthetic. The location is great, the central park is just in front of the hotel.

I would like to have a better bed. The mattress itself is normal, but pillows are tiny and one per bed. The sleeping part is not fixated to the top of bed, nor to each other. It slides all the time. So you can't find a double bed and cosleep with your baby. Some details in the room need to be fixed. Only 30% of this huge territory is used. Other parts need more attention, and walking parts need reconstruction. The spa and wellness centre is more reabilitations than a relaxing point.
