Øen Turistsenter was excellent value for money with great customer service. The staff went out of their way to help me during my stay and provided me with everything that I needed. Breakfast was great, with a good choice of foods on offer.

The lack of washing facilities or a loo in the Hytta (cabin) that I had and the need to go outside to another building at night to wash or use the loo was a bit of a disappointment, is there any way that this could be rectified? The site is 40 minutes' walk from Geilo town centre so it's a trek to get to shops (there is a bus service but it is not that frequent), so a better-equipped shop on site to provide guests with convinience to buy food, coffee, toiletries would be appreciated. As Øen Turistsenter only provides breakfast the ability to buy groceries on site would be great.

The setting is beautiful. It is located next to a river in a ski town. We stayed in one of the cottages. The cottages were cozy. We went to a separate building for the bathroom and sauna. Bathrooms were immaculate. The sauna was a nice touch after a day of skiing. The staff is very nice. My son lost the cabin key on the slopes. A staff member was able to come quickly to the property( it was nighttime and dark) to give us a spare key. We didn't have to wait in the cold for long.

There is no bus service to town. Taxis are expensive. I wish that the hot tub was operational when we were there.

Good facilities in the one bedroom cottage. Cosy living area with lots of light as windows all around, yet easy to have privacy with the blinds. Decent cooker and kettle. Plenty of hanging hooks over doors for coats/scarves and towels. Good water pressure for shower. Nice location with a flowing river stream at the back. Friendly worker on reception Trung (forgive spelling if wrong).

Had to push the 2 single beds together as we are a husband & wife. Shower room/toilet very small space but not a huge problem. As it is more basic regarding the beds, it is important that they should check that guests really do bring their own fresh bedding & that mattress protector covers there are changed frequently. It was not a huge problem, but fussy people like me end up doing things like vacuuming the bed & wiping the pillows with disinfectant wipes before we put our bed linen on... just as an extra precaution. If you are used to rustic accommodation it's fine.

The cottage as well as the common bathroom were super clean. Very beautiful location by the river, and easily walkable from the train station. It was warm enough and very cozy. The host called in advance to inform me about the late check-in and the bedding situation, and she was very kind and helpful.

I wish the room at least had a sink! It had a kitchenette but it is pretty inconvenient to use if you don't have access to water. I didn't like having to go out to the cold to brush my teeth or make tea.

Lovely peaceful location with rustic hytte, fabulous view of night sky and great skibuss shuttle to the slopes or a brisk walk with good path mostly off the road

We did not have a toilet in the cabin which we were aware of when we booked so a chilly walk to the loo but the shared toilet and shower facilities were warm & very clean!

We were only passing by Geilo and didn't stay in the cabin for longer than to sleep really, so we can't give a full review of the facilities. However, it fully suited our needs for a place to sleep in a comfy bed and have breakfast before hitting the road again.

Since it was really cold and snowy when we stayed it was slightly annoying to have to trudge through the snow for 100 m to get to the toilets. To their credit they cleared the snow very quickly. The cabin was also quite cold when we arrived, but heated up quickly due to being so small.

The perfect cosy cabin stop-off, to break up our drive through the snowy mountains and warm up after our hike! The cabin was basic but with everything you need for a comfortable night's stay. Kettle & coffee maker, microwave oven with stove top, fridge and washing up & cleaning up facilities - all available in the cabin, along with beds, sofa and WiFi. The toilet & shower block was nearby, which was new, clean and warm (made the trudge through the snow worth it!) ...The beds were quite high up, which was fine for us, but a shorter person might find a step useful to help get on/off the bed 😊

In general, It reach my expectation, the bed is comfy and the kitchen is functioning. And the staffs are nice.

we went there for a ski holiday and it was really nice experience. One shortcoming is the transportation, there are only a limited public transportation options, If you missed the ski bus, which only have two in the morning to go to the slop and one come back in the afternoon, if you missed them, you have to take a taxi.

The bedroom and the living room/kitchen are in separate spaces. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes an oven. There is a private bathroom. Although it is located near the train tracks, the noise is minimal. Vehicles can be parked next to the cabin. Breakfast can be ordered at the reception desk. Towels, duvets, and bed linens are available for an additional charge, but you can also bring your own.

Was super cozy and had all the facilities needed. It felt like u where glamping which I loved! And the staff where super helpful. There was also a free shuttle bus for the ski resports we werent skiing but where able to make good use of this still! In addition, the place had a free sauna which was great!

Needed a tin opener!
