Let's start with the facts: we have booked a deluxe room, through booking.com, plus the night at the Restaurant Damianz. We have paid about 260 Euro for the room (including parking and breakfast x2). For the restaurant, 240 Euro, we were 2, we went for the Chef's Menu (6 courses), plus 1 glass of (excellent "Blatina") red wine, 2 beers, 2 glasses of water. Final damage: about 500€. Considerations: if you're thinking to enjoy the sense of the Arresthuis (which is amazing by the way) just keep in mind that it comes with a cost. The room was very clean.
 Courtesy of the Staff: the Hotel deserves 5 stars, with no doubts, All. Breakfast: 5 stars! Great service. Restaurant: I must admit that we were not prepared to join such "experience", top restaurant, but be aware ...very very expensive. Experience goes with a significant cost!

Note wrt the room service: we left the room around 19:30hrs, we back at 23.00; at 5 stars hotel I was expecting a quick refinement of the room, unfortunately nothing was done. The shower-gel dispensers were almost empty. Towels: only 2 small, 2 big available in the room x2. Be noted the lack of "handdoekradiator" in the bathroom, so the day after, our towels were not completely dry. Pillows: 2 big pillows, 2 dimension, unfortunately both very hard - this is probably an individual's issue- , but I couldn't sleep very well.

I would like to sincerely thank you for the warm welcome and the outstanding attention to detail during our recent stay at your hotel in Strasbourg. Everything was truly beyond our expectations, and I highly recommend your hotel to anyone visiting the city. A special thanks to Ms. Birtt, who kindly asked about my son’s dietary needs. My son suffers from a severe egg allergy, and Ms. Birtt was incredibly thoughtful and attentive, especially during breakfast, ensuring his safety and comfort at all times. Her professionalism and genuine care truly made a difference. Your hotel stands out not only for its excellent service but also for its thoughtful approach to every small detail that makes tourists feel at home. Very nice hotel close to the city centre of Roermond. The hotel used to be the local prison, which was rebuild into a hotel. They did a very nice job in respecting the old building. The rooms are build in and divided over multiple "old" cells. Clean and large rooms with a good bed, bathroom and work area. Friendly staff. The restaurant is supposed to be very good but it was completely booked for the evening. Bar is good and a nice outside sitting area. Did not use the breakfast. Parking next to the hotel.

Brief one night stay on a road trip; my third stay in a prison hotel (two in UK) and it matches those I have stayed in in Oxford and Bodmin. Great comfy room, seating area, comfy bed, good shower. Breakfast was good. Parking was secure at 10 euros per night. Roermond Designer Outlet was 10 minutes by foot, the city itself was also pleasant and attractive.

The hotel is really interesting as a design. the rooms are very clean and nice, although the heating was not working. The hotel staff was very nice and provided a heater in my room to help warm up the room.

Unfortunately, i had to wait for 25min + for coffee and the breakfast choice I ordered. The breakfast area was not busy but somehow my order did not register with any of the two ladies serving in the breakfast area.

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm smile from a very helpful staff member. I definitely felt welcomed!

Het Arresthuis had such a cool and modern concept for a hotel that it really made my stay memorable. I'll never forget staying in a real prison.

A hotel with an interesting concept, very clean, the room was nice with enough light, coffee machine, delicious breakfast. The staff is very friendly, accommodating all your needs. There is a parking as well. Excellent location.

Given the fact, it is a five star hotel, providing slippers and a bottle of water would have been a nice touch.

A very special stay in a former prison. Our room was spacious, squeaky clean and well decorated. Also parking on site was easy and convenient. Don’t miss breakfast, it’s delicious. Staff was so friendly and helpful. We didn’t have the chance to have a meal at Damianz, because it was fully booked but we’ve been provided with a copious amout of lovely recommendations for dinner - everything in walking distance.

Not a deal-breaker but maybe one could look into the mattress of Room No. 2 - it’s either very soft or slightly worn ot.

Decor is beautifully done , breakfast was amazing

Couldn’t get a wine and soda at bar or a drink that wasn’t on menu even though they had it - presume it’s because they didn’t know how to charge for it ?

Unique building, beautifully decorated with respect for the original purpose, without to much imagination you can put yourself in that time. However a very cosy and modern restaurant space, with a great breakfast, In the city center of Roermond. extremely friendly staff.
