The hotel is beautiful and cosy, and as birdwatchers it was greatly situated as we had a terrass towards the lake. Room was comfortable, clean and cosy. The only that brings it down was that even though we was told that breakfast would be available at 8:30 no one was there and when we left around 10 still no one had showed up.

De hotel manageress was super lief, aardig en hulpvaardig. We felt right at home and immediately welcome. The hotel was very peaceful and quiet with beautiful views at the back looking over the park. Highly recommended!

The bedroom was on the small side but apart from this, everything was beatifully in order.

Location, nice staff, clean room.

Common area could be improved as some of them are close during the evening. Rooms are very small so would be nice to use common areas to seat, leer books etc

Shower was good. Being next to the marshes was good. Restaurants nearby also helpful esp as no provisions at this place which looked pretty much closed down except for a few rooms. Hearing the birds and frogs from the room was lovely

Too many to name here but will not be staying here again. Paid extra for one room (upstairs), confirmed in writing and was not given this on arrival. Instead receptionist said we were getting 2 marsh views not one! Given marsh facing rooms which actually were in basement of hotel and looked out onto main road thus no privacy and could not enjoy the view of the marshes. Also very dusty when horses and cars passed so had to keep windows shut. Hotel looked shut and reception area fully locked all night and during day except for short periods. Our backdoor entry and exit supposed to work on fobs - was not working and was not repaired even after we reported. Check-out was the worst as we felt hustled out of the building by the man on reception and we left with a very bad feeling about the place. We were in El Rocio because of our interest and love for Coto Donana and will definitely be back but we shall be looking for a different place to stay next time

Location was great. It has the potential to be a fabulous hotel with interesting artefacts and fascinating decor.

Immediately we realised that the hotel was practically closed for the quiet season. Most of the hotel remained closed for the two nights, so the only common room was a lobby on the ground floor, not as described on the booking. We paid a high price to make sure we didn’t miss out on a room, yet once we arrived the rooms were 50% less than we paid, yet we’re still placed in a tiny room right on the ground floor, one meter to the only entrance, without being able to open window otherwise passers by would be in full view. Room still had a lot of dust and we kindly asked about moving and wet e refused - we were then kept awake all night by late comers to the hotel until 4am. There was no service, no amenities or options of food/drink in the hotel.
