Clean, warm, and positioned in the middle of a small town in rural Rhineland Pfalz, it’s beautiful and peaceful, and the staff is kind. The room was comfortable and clean, quiet, with strong WiFi and wonderful food. Make a reservation at the on site restaurant to assure yourself of a table on a busy weekend night.

Beautiful and quiet location in the middle of Wallhalben. The staff is outstanding and helpful. Innovative and comfortable online check in, excellent and nicely equipped clean rooms.

The people, the food, the front desk woman and the coffee were all totally amazing! We came to visit with Family in a near by town and found it the perfect launching point to explore all of south eastern germany. Plus, going to sleep to frogs and waking up to cows was exactly the vacation we wanted!

I really don't have any complaints. I wish that the outdoor bar/pizza restaurant was open more than just one night, but I get it as we were there in the off season. The parking can be a little bit of a trick as well especially on busy restaurant nights.

There was a party of some sort and the guests left at 4:00 AM making a terrible noise outside my window. The staff also decided to stack the terrace furniture at 12:00 PM. Both events woke me up.

Breakfast was quite okay

During my stay it was very hot and there was no air-condition in my room, which you would expect in a 4 star hotel

Restaurant Katz 10/10 which is independent from the hotel so you need to book a table in advance with them we only know this as a local told us whom we happened to meet outside. It would be helpful if this was stated on booking.com the hotel was very clean 10/10

Hotel wasn’t open when we arrived early to see what it was like (check in is not until 3pm but booking.com states 2pm ) when we arrived at the hotel we thought it was closed down as the area in the front and parking area is full of weeds and looked neglected, however inside the hotel is lovely and clean. The lovely terrace was not offered to us as an option for breakfast we were told breakfast was in the restaurant on check in and we were not told there is an additional charge for it or that we could have it on the terrace if we like. I had emailed the hotel asking them what is the arrangement for breakfast as there is no mention of it on booking.com. My email was never replied to. I also emailed asking for a table in the restaurant that evening as there was nobody answering the phone number but I also did not receive a reply to this request, so we tried to phone again later to book, successfully. I also asked for a quiet room to the back by email (also no reply received) but upon arrival I was told none were available however the room to the front was noisy due to the traffic and the farm across the road. Had I known in advance that a room to the back was not available I would not have booked After I booked on booking.com I promptly received an email with a code for check in and access to the hotel from 3pm and my room number. If I could receive this check in email so promptly why were my other emails sent at the same time not responded to? However the staff member who was there on check in that evening was friendly. Overall the inability to communicate effectively with the hotel made the experience a 7/10
