I had the best time at Hotel Nupka! I initially booked for one week and ended up extending my stay to two and a half weeks—that’s how much I enjoyed it. It's more of a hotel-style stay than a hostel, which suited me perfectly. The space is very clean and comfortable. There’s a lovely lounge downstairs connected to the café, where you’re welcome to hang out or work if you’ve bought something. They also offer a separate lounge/workspace in the building next door, which I found really convenient and useful. The owner, Kotomi-san, is so kind and welcoming—she really made my stay feel extra special. All the staff were equally lovely and helpful. There’s also a lot of information available about things to do in and around Obihiro, which made exploring the area super easy. The location is fantastic too! I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Obihiro—it’s a wonderful place with great vibes and people.

The only small thing I’d suggest is adding some plates and cutlery in the kitchen area—it would be a nice bonus for guests.

I really loved the place, it had great atmosphere. I stayed in the compact room, but the space was well planned and I felt quite comfortable. Walking distance to the station, and an amazing amount of bars and restaurants in the neighborhood (and one in the hotel, too). Do recommend!

The bed was just long enough for me and I'm 165 cm. I'm not sure if anyone much taller than me would be OK. You can shift a position of the mattress a little (it partially can hide in the bed-rest portion), but then you lose some extra space for your things.

I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Nupka. The bar/cafe uses local products and has a great craft beer selection. The staff are wonderful - one amazing woman went out of her way to call around to find a hospital that would accept me afterhours when I discovered some mysterious wounds from a biking accident. Thanks for everything - this place rocks!!

Have to be a little careful if you're tall in 6ft and my feet hang out the end of the bed, fine if you're solo and can sleep crosswise but I'd be wary if you're any taller or have two in the room

The location, the cleanliness and value for money far exceeded my expectations. Great use of space in the rooms. The most important was thew friendliness and accommodating nature of the staff. I only stayed one night but felt like an extended part of the family member when I left.

Nice cafe lounge in lobby with craft beer and quality coffees. Super helpful manager giving advise although the Lake shikaribetsu was closed I did enjoy the bus ride there and the onsen he recommended was so good!

Lounge to eat up on fifth floor

The location is great! Very close to the station. The hotel also has a bar and cafe inside which has great food. On some days there is also a horse-pulled moving bar departing from the hotel. This is the place to stay in Obihiro.

It was clean and beautiful inside. The view from the 2nd floor was beautiful. We could watch Netflix and had connections to other media for kids to watch.

Great location, near to the JR station and across from a Lawson. Cafe in the bottom is cute and the staff are great. The rooms were clean and nice, albeit a little warm.

The lounge on the top floor is not very cozy

Can’t open the window to ventilate fresh air in such a small space.
