We were rather late arriving but Luca, the owner of this rather grand and typically Italian residence, hidden behind large electric double gates, was very forgiving, and very helpful in finding us a place to eat near by, that happened to still be open on a Monday evening. The room was comfortable with a huge, double basined bathroom, and a BATH as well as a shower, and overlooked the pleasant garden and swimming pool, which was about to be opened for the summer residents. Very nice B&B. Luca and Paola are the nicest people; they make you feel comfortable right away. The site is beautiful and we almost had the whole place for us alone, which was very nice. While Cascinagrossa, the village, is nothing special in itself, it's close to a lot of interesting places.

What an absolutely fantastic stopover for us on our way from bern to Nice!! We Weere greed warmly by the family who spoke excellent English. The house is stunning and the rooms comfortable and well furnished. Our breakfast was lovely and served by the owner so warmly and with a really interesting history of the house too. We had a great meal in a local restaurant recommended, by the owner, also We had a great stay and would certainly return. Would thoroughly recommend La Cascina Grossa

Honestly, I loved this place. It was really amazing. Peaceful. Relaxing. Beautiful trees. I'm learning Italian and they really put 100% effort into speaking to me in Italian. I was so happy.

I arrived late at night. With the gate closed, it was almost impossible to find the entrance. I drove past many times and nearly decided to sleep in the car right outside the entrance because I could not find it.

The house has been restored including the paintings on the wall and ceiling. The pool is great. The host is very nice. He helped us when we needed to go to the farmacie while it was closed by calling a friend. He asked every morning what we where planning and gave good advice on nice places to see and good places to eat. Breakdast is vert good.

Fantastic huge building dating back to Napoleon time and with historical background. The current owner family restored the place in the last 20 years. The owner welcomed us at 22h00 (after a long journey in heavy traffic) with a smile and kindness and help us settle in. In the morning we had breakfast in a somptuous breakfast room with beautiful fresques. He gave us a very interesting overview of the history of the place. We could still enjoy the playground, huge garden and pool until 12.00 noon. The location was super quiet. All windows in the room were equipped with anti mosquito screen and a roof fan, so we slept very well. Really a lovely one night stay a this place. We will go back anytime we are in the area.

Beautiful and clean. Great breakfast and nice hosts. We used it as a stop between Milano airport and the seaside. And it really set the Italian tone :-)

Luca was an excellent host. He speaks good English and was helpful in arranging a reservation at a local restaurant and providing an early breakfast before I had to leave. I regret that I could not stay longer.

Loved the building, which is a beautiful manor house built in the late 1600s. The house and church across the street witnessed fighting between the French and Austrians in the Battle of Marengo in 1800, there are Austrian cannon balls stuck in the front wall of the church outside the main gate to the farm. The decisive French counterattack lined up on the drive to La Cascina Grossa. I loved the history of the building and setting. It also was a very peaceful and quiet setting.
