We had a wonderful stay with Janaka & his family in his home. They were very hospitable and welcoming, and it was great getting to know them. The room was simple and clean with a comfortable bed and good air-conditioning and fan. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty, with lovely fresh fruit each day. We could help ourselves to tea, coffee, and water all day. There is a nice, quiet lake a few minutes walk, and there were many different bird species there on the three times we visited it. The location of the room is outside the main part of Anuradhapura, which makes it a peaceful location out of the town, but the town and sites can be easily accessed by tuk-tuk. There are also small shops not far by foot, and in the afternoon the next door neighbour sells some small take-away snacks and tasty donuts! Thank you to Janaka and his lovely family!

Extremely kind and helpful owner. He helped us with many great advices/tips. He even took us for a full day guided tour to Anuradhapura ancient city - he knows a lot about the history of the place, speaks very good English and he was overall an amazing guide. We would highly recommend to book a tour with him, because it's much easier to understand what you are looking at, if you have a guide like him.

The room would need additional cleaning. Also, it could use some painting since there are some mould problems especially in the bathroom and the walls are quite stained. But still - good value for the money we paid.

This accommodation was amazing. The landlord very friendly and talkative, he told us many interesting things about Sri Lanka, its people and history. He arranged for a tuk tuk for the next day which took us to all the historic sights in Anuradhapura and later in Mihintale, the tuk tuk driver was also a kind of a guide, was able to tell us many things about the places visited and always recommended a good restaurant just accordiong to our wishes. The place is in a quiet neighbourhood.

I know you see this in a lot of reviews, but believe me after three weeks in Sri Lanka, I haven’t met a host this kind and genuine. An experience filled with love and hospitality. Truly heartwarming!

The home stay is nice and clean. I could also have breakfast and rent a bicycle (against a small fee)

I booked a tour to Wilpattu with the homestay and I paid double the price. The jeep was 12000 and I was alone, so I knew it would be more expensive. But I met other people that did the full day tour for 65 euros or at least 100 euros a day. I only had a half day tour so I got clearly ripped off ! I don't appreciate the owner being so dishonest

Absolutely enjoyed my time at Treasure Rest House. The surroundings were incredibly serene and quiet, making for a peaceful stay. Being on a rented motorcycle, the location posed no inconvenience for me. The host was exceptionally helpful, providing valuable tips and going above and beyond by organizing a fantastic full-day safari at Willpattu with a great group deal. Engaging conversations with the host added to the charm of my stay, allowing me to learn more about the beauty of Sri Lanka.

The bed frame was a bit noisy and could benefit from some improvements.

Everything! The host helped us to organize a trip to wilpattu for a very cheap price and also called a tuktuk driver and a jeep driver so we had no circumstances! The breakfast was very delicious and we also got a lunchpack at the day we went to wilpattu! The room is very clean and also the neighborhood is very helpful and nice. Our hosts are probably the kindess people i met so far. Thank you so much for everything! I will come back

We had a very pleasant stay at Treasure House Tourist Rest. The accomodation had everything we Needed and the owners are so kind. They told us so much about Anaradhapura and it’s history. They helped us find our transportation, gave is the most delicious curry’s and were so friendly. Thank you so much for having us. Definitely recommended!

For is there were no downsides to this accomodation.

The property owners are the nicest people you will ever know. They take extra effort to make you happy and comfortable. This property is a bird watcher's dream come true. So many exotic birds are right in front of you in the garden. Within minutes I saw green pigeon, wood peckers, leaf eaters, paradise fly catchers, white eye, scaly breasted munias, bulbuls etc. It was a delight!

It is a home style accommodation and there was nothing to complain about.

Jonny's customer service was exceptional. When we arrived, the room booked for us had a water issue due to heavy rains. He offered us another room but there was only a double in it. We had requested 2 beds. However, Jonny brought in a single bed and it worked perfectly. I highly recommend this accommodation.
