Welcomed warmly by the staff and owner and his following of loyal friendly dogs. Adored the colourful vases of fresh flowers which were placed in our cottage on our arrival. Such a lovely touch! Beautiful relaxing courtyards, fascinating historical photographs and objects and comfortable shady sitting areas and traditional colonial artefacts. Fascinating slice of a time past. Very relaxing atmosphere- wish we could have stayed longer to linger and soak in the surroundings and chat a bit more to the owner. Hopefully we will return again in future as our first visit to South Africa was amazing!

Unfortunately we booked a room on the same day and emailed hoping for a game drive but no reply received and it turned out the afternoon and morning drives were fully booked. However it didn’t matter as our self drive the following day was phenomenal! The wonderful huge shower did not drain properly and it was clearly an ongoing issue as there was fresh digging to reach pipes outside the cottage.

Elephant house is a truly wonderful property. The rooms are tastefully decorated with quality fittings with a magnificent bed surrounded with a mosquito net. Everwhere was clean and the the furniture in the public rooms comfortable, sinking into the sofa's. Highlight of the stay was the safari to the Addo elephant reserve, which was booked at the property using the knowegeable in- house staff. Our driver, Emanuel, was excellent and Clive runs a great operation. Relaxing and comfortable stay.

The bathroom, which was huge, did not have a door either seperating the room or the toilet. You have to be familiar with your companion, if they are having a comfort break, as you rustle around the fridge for your Gin & Tonic

We loved our stay at Elephant House, situated close to Addo Elephant Park. The nearest gate was just over 10 kilometers away. The decor speaks of a bygone era, with big verandahs overlooking the lush gardens, all appointed in an old African colonial style. These spaces were perfect for reading a book, playing board games, or enjoying drinks. Our lovely family cottage was spacious and comfortable, with beautiful mohair blankets on each bed that kept us warm. The outside stoep, overlooking the green lawns, had a lounge area, dining area, and a fully-equipped kitchenette. The resident farm dogs came to visit each day, adding to the cottage's homely feel. The staff was friendly and efficient, going out of their way to make our stay memorable. The breakfast served was delicious. I would highly recommend Elephant House.

Elephant House is a tranquil gem set in lush gardens with a real charm and incredible staff. It could not have been more relaxing, we did not want to leave. We booked to base ourselves here for a trip to Addo elephant park which was a short drive away. In the game drive we had an unforgettable experience getting prime viewing spots of the herds of elephant as well as black rhino and hyena encounters. Our guide Alan was great, so friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely stay again if we’re in the area. The owner, Clive, could not have been more accommodating. We loved it here.

Wonderful breakfast selection, small buffet and then freshly cooked items also available. Very happy with the breakfast provisions and timings. The location is wonderful and tranquil with plenty of verandahs with comfortable seating to relax. I truly felt so relaxed. Our room was amazing, plenty of space and huge bathroom. Clive was wonderful and we met him a few times throughout our stay, he was attentive and genuinely interested in his guests. He also booked us a safari and dinner which went seamlessly. I would definitely come back.

Kitchenette: A small but useful area for preparing light meals. Staff: Friendly and helpful throughout our stay Proximity to Addo Park: Conveniently close to the park entrance. Overall Experience: Couldn’t be happier with our 3-night stay; a perfect family getaway for us!

We’ve stayed at the Elephant house before so we knew it was well located for access to Addo Elephant Park. It was my birthday on the day we arrived and the staff surprised me with a delicious birthday cake and bottle of bubbles. We had a lovely large room - beautifully clean bedding and towels, large comfy bed. Great shower. Wi-Fi worked well and there was ample parking. Breakfast was delicious. The pool area is a lovely place to sit and relax in between safaris.

I was a bit disappointed that the establishment no longer provides dinner as they did before. That said we tried two local restaurants nearby that were recommended to us and both were good.

Very comfortable, old colonial style house with delightful deep verandas beautifully furnished. Lovely decor and very interesting photos adorn the walls. Staff very friendly.

Traffic noise a little loud on occasion but a man made little waterfall and rill help drown out the noise.

Beautiful accommodation right near Addo elephant park. Just off the main road. Perfectly manicured lawns, beautiful swimming pools, many relaxing seating areas make this a unique and wonderful place to stay. Room was HUGE with outdoor kitchen and covered dining area. Magical
