We really liked the accomodation since we stayed in our own little house with lots of privacy. We also liked the modern interiour and the outside shower, which we found really special. The garden is big, quiet and so peaceful - a good place to relax. The staff is really friendly and we felt welcomed from the first second. We had dinner at the premises which was delicious like the breakfast. They offer lots of meal options. We also did the safari game drive organised by Stellenhof and had the traditional braai for lunch at the Addo Elephant Park - their safari game drive was a true highlight for sure! The driver made every effort to ensure that we have the best time. Would definitely recommend this accomodation, if you plan to visit the area around Addo.

The whole place feels very luxurious and well-designed. All the rooms, the common areas as well as the outside areas are well maintained and stunningly beautiful, especially the gardens around them. Our hosts were very kind and helpful and we also enjoyed the room. It’s also really close to the park and offers its own game drives into Addo.

Compared to the quality of the rooms and the hotel buildings in general, the food at the restaurant, although reasonably priced, does not live up to expectations, however. It basically offers very touristy food that offends no one but is also nothing special, a lot of it seems to be convenience products prepared by the staff. They surely did their best but don’t expect too much. (It is however harder to find an alternative if you don’t want to drive for too long)

High standard accommodation just 12km from Main gate Addo elephant. Excellent cuisine, service, staff at European level

Earth bag domes is an interesting way of accommodation with the disadvantage of minimal space to unpack things, so you have to leave everything in suitcases which is not convenient. Similarly, the now modern but not very practical way of connecting the bedroom, bathroom and toilet into one unseparated unit. Disappointing is the inability to enter the Addo park through the side gate, which is about 100m from the accommodation, but having to travel 12km both morning and evening to the main gate.

Gorgeous property located very near Main Gate to Addo Elephant Park. Guesthouse rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Excellent amenities provided (complimentary coffee, tea and water and other items available for purchase). Very quiet AC. Included breakfast was excellent with healthy options and ample choice. Hot options made to order. Staff were friendly and efficient. Dinner menu offered a la carte were delicious and well priced. Grounds and pool area was immaculate. Also spacious and comfortable indoor relaxation spaces available which offer multiple environments to enjoy and relax.

The Stellenhof Guest House is a little peace of tranquility. We were lucky as the Jacaranda trees were in full bloom, so the setting was just stunning. Our room was spacious and well-equipped, the bed comfy. The pool is quite a treat, so is the staff. The ladies in the kitchen and Monique, the concierge kind-of, are super friendly and helpful. Dinner is served at the premises as there is not much around, but there is no need as the food served is yummy. We also booked a game drive with the driver Audrey, which I would highly recommend in addition to a self-drive tour on your way to the guest house or when you depart.

A nice small hotel located on a working fruit farm with loads of character. We stayed in a dome in the garden, which was a bit quirky but comfortable. The restaurant and food were excellent with a good choice for breakfast and evening meal. The pool, patio and gardens are lovely. And the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is 20 mins drive from Addo Elephant Park where you can self drive or get a guided tour from the hotel.

The housing area around the farm is quite poor but we felt safe.

We loved the dome shaped units they were unique and fun! We stayed in the 3 person unit with our 14 year old daughter. The outdoor shower was amazing - looking up at the stars ! The food, both breakfast and supper, was very very good. Loved the clean line decor and buildings. Parking safe, grounds beautiful and everything spotlessly clean. Would recommend staying here. Staff accomodation seen in the distance is not the township spoken about in other reviews. To avoid the large township follow instructions to go through the Addo park as sent in the book-in instructions.

Be aware that you can't exit the Addo west gate if you have stayed the previous night in the Addo Park accommodation. They require a main gate exit. (Driving in the east gate and immediately out the west is ok though, as per Stellenhoff travel instructions) The geyser battled with the 3rd person in the dome. The aircon heater battled to warm up the space as it is set in the corner. These are minor issues we literally loved our stay.

Stellenhof is the most incredible place - it's an oasis, unexpected in the middle of nowhere, and perfectly appointed. It is simply stunning and I really should not share this tip with anyone and keep it all to myself - but it deserves every success. The rooms are stylish, the original Cape Dutch farmhouse building is beautifully refurbished and maintained with breathtaking taste, and the Domes are an architectural delight - the ecological design having won prizes on the international sustainability scene. The personnel are second to none. 7 little ladies working all the hours God gives to make sure each and every guest feels like family. They are TRUE treasures. The managers Megan and Monique kind and forthcoming, helpful and always looking to spoil their guests. Here, you feel like home - except it's better! In some reviews I noted complaints about the gravel road you take to reach Stellenhof - forgetting to be grateful that that gravel road in question belongs to Addo national game reserve, so that you drive across the reserve on a private road, seeing the animals for free before you have even arrived at Stellenhof. So you truly have amazing value for money right there and you haven't even seen the estate yet! The little township that is close by is definitely the neatest I have seen and in no way can be considered "scary" - it's the place where the people live who work hard to make your holiday a joy. So don't let such reviews put you off. As for bumpy gravel roads - if you are driving to Addo you better prepare yourself for plenty of those. The food is home farmstyle cooking with generous portions and it is great not to have to go out looking for restaurants in the area after spending all day driving in the park. The interior decor is gob-smacking, SO tasteful, the rooms are spacious, beds comfortable, linen - good quality, room smells and atmosphere divine, garden is Eden and pool is heated.

The accommodation was very pretty and stylish. A calm environment particularly after a busy day. Staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly with directions to the place. WiFi was good. Parking was secure, although a little walk from our room. We enjoyed breakfast and the evening meal, which was extra. The swimming pool was heated (a first in our Garden Route trip)! I loved the feel of the dining and lounge areas. It was only 18 minutes to Addo main gate, via Patterson, where we did a 2 hour game drive. It was possible to book an all-day drive with Stellenhof.

We hadn't quite realised that not all access routes were as safe as each other, which made us a little anxious until we received from a staff member very good advice on the current safest route. I was a little disappointed that Addo wildlife wasn't visible from our location, given how close we were.

Stepping into this hotel is like walking back in time, nestled within a working citrus farm founded in the 1800s. The care taken in the renovation to preserve its historical essence, especially the original woodwork, adds to its charm. The rooms offer comfort with good bedding, and the entire place, though cozy and small, is impeccably maintained and tastefully decorated, reflecting its rich history. There's a restaurant on-site serving both breakfast and dinner. While convenient, the fare was somewhat disappointing, lacking the sophistication and flair one might expect from such an elegant backdrop. The food was okay, but quite plain, not quite living up to the class and ambiance the place exudes. Despite the culinary experience not hitting the mark, the hotel's serene setting, combined with its historical charm and cozy elegance, makes it a memorable stay for anyone seeking a unique getaway.
