When I looked where to stay at Addo I wanted a place that maximized the wildlife without me having to drive anywhere and Gorah did exactly that. We sat at the hotel all day and we experienced the most amazing wildlife at the waterhole. And at the same time Gorah staff exemplary in their service and kindness. The food superb right down to my wife’s diabetic requirements at all times and we were made to feel that nothing was too much.

Amazing service and food, every little detail is thought about! Beautiful wildlife and great guide for the game drives with tons of knowledge! Elephants walked straight past our window during lunch and we wish we could have stayed longer.

Initially thought this was way out of budget but once we worked out the three meals and prices of game drives alone we could see where the money was going. I was a little shocked that at this price park fees were not included. Also think it should be made clear what drinks are not included in the cost as we were hit with a bill we weren’t expecting.

This is a truly amazing and completely enthralling place. Magnificently set out in a glorious setting with the main building and the suites (I cannot call them tents - they are much better than that) surrounding a large waterhole which attracts wildlife to drink while you enjoy breakfast delivered by caring, attentive and committed staff who pull out all the stops to make sure you have the best time here (big shout out to Nellie, Zorro, Donald and Mavis). They knew my wife was glued and dairy intolerant so baked and cooked delicious items specifically for her. The rangers are exceptional. Their knowledge of the flora, fauna and all the animal life teaming within this vast arena is immeasurable and makes the drives out in the very comfortable specially designed transporters so interesting. Verna, our ranger, (who we went out with on our own) also had a warm and gentle demeanour tinged with a keen sense of humour but focussed on his love of the creatures which bless this place. The way he talked to the huge beasts which came extremely close to our wagon was surreal. They seemed to love him right back. I have kept a list of all the creatures we saw and admired and I can honestly say this tops all our holidays around the world. I will never forget this part of South Africa, the beautiful landscape, the wonderful wildlife roaming so freely and, above all, the people who maintain it for our benefit. We consider ourselves blessed to have enjoyed it.

Nothing! I could say the showers in the luxury 'tents' were temperamental but honestly, in a wonderful place like this, who cares?

We really enjoyed our stay at Gorah. The accommodation was amazing with lots of little extra touches that made it extra special. Staff were lovely and friendly. The game drives were fantastic and a special mention to Ashley for such informative and fun drives. Does a good G&T too :0)

On the whole we had a fantastic experience. Just a couple of small things service wise and I mean small but left a slight impression. My meal on the first night, mushroom risotto was overcooked to the point I couldn’t eat it. I must stress this was dealt with swiftly by our waitress. Also we had asked the duty manager for some belongings to be retrieved from our car and 24 hours later we had to ask again. They were delivered but no apology or mention of the delay. As I say very small points and it didn’t affect our stay at all but was slightly disappointed.

This was the most amazing place to stay. Our "tents" were stunning with everything little thing thought of from a fully stocked drinks cabinet to hot water bottles in our beds. The game drives were magnificent. Our guide clearly knew everything he needed to and more, and loved his job. We saw lions, elephants, meerkats, zebra, and much, much more. The coffee and sunset stops were very special. Rugs and hot water bottles on the trucks for the evening were very welcome. The food was magnificent: breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner. Pre-dinner drinks in front of the fire were a good start to the dinner. All the staff were lovely. On our last morning the breakfast room had to be closed due to a lion making a kill nearby but the change of venue was dealt with seamlessly. We went in the SA winter but I would love to return in the summer to see the seasonal differences.

Excellent place to stay. We were very warmly welcomed and the staff made us feel home from the very beginning throughout our stay. The camp is located in the middle of the park and there are plenty of animals coming by. You always feel safe. The staff does great safaris in the park and we saw a great bunch of animals from close. And the food is truly first class. An unforgettable experience

The staff and food at Gorah are awesome. Having a meal or a drink with the game only a stone throw away was the best. No windows, bars or obstructions between you and the elephants drinking water on the door step is something I would never forget. On our first morning I was worked by the roar of one of the lions and was fortunate enough to see him pass close by.

The property was beautifully situated at a watering hole and it was lovely to sit and watch the animals coming and going. This stay was an amazing experience if you want a real treat. Every little detail was well thought and we were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived at the gates. The food was outstanding as were the staff.

Nothing!!!

Incredible setting in the middle of the national park by a watering hole. The service was stellar and the atmosphere was beautiful. Lacked for nothing. You had access to roads in the national park that were closed to the general public so could see animals away from the main roads as well, on the morning and afternoon game drives.

Nothing, it was perfect
