Wow, where to start. The location is perfect, we saw whales every morning from the comfort of our bed. The breakfast is excellent, the staff friendly and helpful. Lots of walking trails benches to sit on, an excellent experience.

The tea and coffee, rusks were not replenished everyday, but it is a small thing compared to the value received. The photos do not do justice to the type of room booked. I ended canceling the double room with a balcony because I could not tell if it had a sea view. The double room has the best view and the other room was considerably smaller.

The views are spectacular, the location of the guest house is superb easy access to go to town to visit Franskraal, Hermanus and all other surrounding areas. I stayed in a very expensive hotel near the waterfront in Capetown and that was very underwhelming compared to the guesthouse the food the room the service was way better at Sea Star Cliff. Absolutely love this accommodation would stay there every time that's for sure. We travel a lot in SA and have stayed at many Guesthouses and this is the absolute best. The pictures you see on the various platforms om this guest house is exactly what you get. Well done to the owners lots of heart and soul in this accommodation.

Amazing ocean view and the breakfast was good..

The toilet lid was kinda yellowish, which tells you that things were not very clean. This place really tries hard to be high end but oh boy, it's not worth more than 100 USD per night (the hike up the prices a lot in summer). The location is pretty bad, there's literally nothing around. My recommendation: don't go to this place and stay somewhere else where it's nicer. There are MANY nicer places around the garden route, and this is not one of them.

Routine maintenance for the building is lacking - taps that don’t work, tiles coming away from tue wall in the showers, acoustic ceiling tiles detaching from the ceiling in the hallway, hot water not working in some rooms. Inconsistent tv facilities between the rooms, doors that rub against the frames when you open and close them, fabric coming off chair in the penthouse room... You don’t expect issues like this when you are paying these amounts for rooms.

Superb location - best views. Along with another couple we took over the two penthouse room / suite - this gave us an enormous rooftop area to move sunbeds / chairs and watch the sunset in complete privacy. Rooms were spacious and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Staff extremely friendly. Good breakfast. Quiet location (in January! Not sure so quiet in whale watching season?) Recommend pre booking local restaurants as very few within a 20 minute drive.

Not too sure about the shared rooftop if unknown guests in other penthouse as extremely open space with potential to see in to the other room. The reflective windows could do with a refresh as could see in to some rooms.

Layout of rooms, spa bath right next to bed can't get in except from bottom of bed, can hear everyone coming and going, some of decor, mismash of tiles and sloppy paint maintenance made rooms look cheap and a little outdated, black tiles slippery in shower of room 4 and shower leaked into main bathroom floor area

The views are spectacular. The room beautifully decorated.

The fact that the hair dryer can jot reach a place where there is a mirror. And the hairdryer is a bit small and cut out when it is in use for longer periods, especially if you have long hair. Please look at the coffee machine in room. It makes one cup perfect and the the next cup only fill the cup with a little bit of water. It happened two days in a row.

We received a warm welcome from the host Dumisani and our room was upgraded which was a big bonus! Breakfast was very good, the location was perfect! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming! 🤗

The rooms could do with being updated. The dècor is a tad outdated and needs a little mordernising.

The tv is outdated and nespresso coffee would be nice. Quality coffee is always great. The toilet in luxury suite is not comfortable to use. No leg space. Tv in other room was not user friendly. Tap on other room said out of order. Towel heater wasn’t working. Very inconvenient in the winter time esp. Shower floors are very slippery esp for elderly guest.

Our room was fabulous! The dining room and general decor were detailed and beautiful. The staff were super friendly, efficient, and highly trained. The location was perfect! We saw SO many whales from the pool deck. Lovely walks along the clifftop, but without the crowds of people you experience in Hermanus. We will definitely be back.

Everything was perfect, except from the wine /cooler/ drinks fridge in the dining room nit working properly.
