The location and staff were great. Very friendly, hospitable and helpful. Food was also very good. The lodge and its location is very unique. Feels like you're staying in a tropical jungle.

The power to our aircon was switched off the one evening for reasons unknown. The shower needs a shower door as the water sprays all over.

This is a piece of paridise. So peaceful - even on New years day. The hosts are great and are there to help with all your needs. We also took a ride on the tubes and swam in the river. We had a braai next to the swimming pool every day. Best New year I had in years!

The views are stunning. The staff Nicole and Sindy such lovely people. The breakfast was 11/10 Traveled with my wife and 7month old made our stay so comfortable and they where so accommodating to our requests. The boat cruise is a must such amazing views. Will be back soon.

LOCATION IS RIGHT AT THE RIVER, ENJOYED RIVER VIEW, QUITNESS, THE GARDEN AND STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY. CINDY IS THE BEST EVEN FETCHED ME FROM MY CAR ON ARRIVAL, MY ROOM WAS TAKEN CARE OFF DAILY, STAFF OFFERED TO CARRY MY COOLER BOX EACH TIME I WENT OUT. ON THE FIRST 2 DAYS I WAS BY MYSELF THEY HELPED ME TAKE PICTURES OF MYSELF.

THERE WAS NO WIFI, THE TV PLAYED OLD MOVIES, TV CHANNELS CAN BE IMPROVED.

I am from Australia, visiting with my Mum. The location is exceptional, the river frontage is magical and the gardens, dining areas, pool - just excellent. The room size surprised us, they are big, absolutely spotless, comfortable and had a wooden patio that overlooked the pool and river. The rooms are also quite stylish and the single beds we used, were quality and comfortable. The staff were just so lovely and we got to meet the owners, who were such warm, interesting and lovely people. The location is close to the Wild Coast, but the beach at the river mouth and Leisure Bay close by - were much more fun to visit. I can’t say enough good things about Umtamvuna - highly recommended.

It’s old, and unkempt. Not much maintenance…seems they’ve decided to just make it a cash cow; not much being reinvested to keep it up.

Location is fantastic, beautiful views.

There's nobody at the reception desk to receive or assist guests, they're normally all over lodge, ac in our room was leaking water and there's no microwave in the room, you have to ask the staff to warm up your meals, this would be very awkward late in the evening.

The staff was very friendly and i enjoyed the boat cruise.

Please fix your air conditioning equipment, it was cold with heaters not working properly but overall al was great.

Loved the tranquility, scenery, and activities at the lodge. Very comfortable bed and a lovely breakfast. Great stay!
