I stayed here for 9 days and I feel like i could stay a lot longer. It feels like my 2nd home in Seoul. The room has everything I need. Private bathroom, Cable TV, Fridge, desk, chair. Even personal pots/pans/cups/forks/etc. It was quiet and I was able to work and study at my desk in the room. The WIFI is good. The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. perfect 10/10 for the staff. There is also convenience store GS24 (similar to 711) just around the corner. The place is like 600m from the nearest subway station (Nambu Bus Terminal). If at slow normal walk, it takes 10 minutes. Which can be challenging if you have a bad knee or not physically fit. You can take a bus to subway station that will cut down the walking from 600m to 200m. But you will need to download Naver Map to see the bus schedule in real time. You can also take a bus to wherever you want to go without using subway at all. The place doesn't have a sign outside that says "Bestel Residence" in English. But no worries. Just use the Google Map or Naver Map to find it. The app puts me right in-front of the building. You won't get lost. Then take the elevator to 6F

The host was incredibly welcoming, and super. accommodating. Was very responsive to messages via the app, stayed up late to help me check in very late on my first night due to a long flight from England and when I lost my SIM they were very reassuring putting my anxiety at ease. Would definitely recommend for english speakers visiting korea alone for the first time

The bed was slightly uncomfortable and the room is small but space is not easy to come by in Seoul and the prices are so good that it is not a problem if travelling on a budget

I enjoyed living at Bestel Residence during my stay! It was quiet, safe, clean, warm, comfortable and had everything I needed. The host is a very friendly and caring lady, she was always keen to help and it was nice to chit-chat from time to time in the kitchen or hallway. The shared kitchen has cutlery and dishes and appliances that you need to cook or prepare meals. You can store food in your own fridge in the room and take to the kitchen as needed. The location is great, just a 7 minute walk to Nambu Bus Terminal (line 3) subway station, which can get you pretty much anywhere and you can transfer to line 2 at National University of Education which is one stop away. There are also several buses running near the building that connect you to various parts of the city. Plenty of shops nearby including a convenience store down the street, in addition to a Lotte Supermarket and a GS The Fresh around 5-8 minute walk.

I suppose the room is really small, but it wasn't a big downside for me as I already expected it. It is enough for one person, there is decent storage space in the room and you can store your luggage in a separate room. You really get used to it with time. The shower is literally over the sink so it can be a bit challenging to wash up in that small space, and everything inside the cubicle gets wet so you have to learn how to minimize the mess. Some of the residents who shared the kitchen didn't wash the dishes properly, which was a bit annoying, so please remember to keep things clean in shared spaces!

The place was so clean and you can see the effort the owner puts in to maintain the place. It's a student dormitory called gushiwon in Korean, so it's nothing fancy but for the price and quality it's just perfect. The owner provides instant noodles, rice, kimchi and instant coffee as well as a water dispenser in the kitchen. There's a convinience store right next to the residence. Gangnam is a 30 minute walk and the subway line 3 is 10 mintues away. If anything I loved, it was the owner's warmness and hospitality. She would do anything to make your stay as comfortable as it can be. For example, the elevator was not working and I had a 30kg luggage I had to carry down 6 floors, she went out of her way and asked for help to carry it down, so I wouldn't have to. Lovely lady indeed!

Noise cancellation is an issue, the walls are pretty thin, however I've been to other places and they all have the same issue. Also the shower and toilet are in the same place. Basically the shower head is conected to the sink and you shower accordingly in this tiny space. Keep in mind you're travelling on a budget, you get what you pay for, Korea is not the cheapest destination...

Yes, the room was small like a student's dormitory, but it was just perfect for what I wanted. The lady who works there was very communicative and super helpful during my stay. The place is incredibly clean and located in a quiet area. There are many cafes and restaurants nearby, which was very convenient. However, since the rooms are right next to each other, you might hear voices, but it's not clear what people are talking about. Also, they don't provide toilet paper and towels, so be ready for that. Despite this, I am definitely going to stay here again when I go back to Korea!

The friendly host makes the stay feel very cozy and homey. Despite the size of the teeny tiny room my stay was pleasant as the host felt very approachable and always making sure my needs my were met. And to be fair, when visiting Seoul, a comfy bed is all you really need. The kitchen with homemade kimchi and good utilities is perfect for late night ramyun cooking after a long day.

The residence is very convenient for travellers on budget, close to many bus stops and subway station. The neighborhood is very nice, lively but not too crowded at the same time and it's relatively close to all attractions. The most important thing for me was the cleanliness and it's very clean and the staff is very very nice and helpful. Definitely will consider it again for my next trip to seoul.

Bestel Residence was incredible value for money, well situated, and the owner made my trip! She was incredibly kind and accommodating and often went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my visit to Seoul! The accommodation shares the street with a convenience store, a bar, multiple cafés, and is a short walk from the subway station and Gangnam. The residence has very good facilities, including kitchen and washing machine freely available. The room was a decent size with good amenities, and though it maybe a little cramped if you're much taller than 6ft, it was comfortable for me and far more than I expected for the price! Would fully recommend for solo travellers with a modest budget, and can't thank the owner enough!

I stayed in Bestel Residence in August and I had a great time! The host is exceptionally friendly and kind, she can speak English really well and she can even speak Italian! It was really nice talking with her and she always helped me and recommended great places to visit. The room is really clean and had all the necessary amenities (shampoo, air-conditioning, WiFi, soap, fridge etc) Also, the residence is situated in a great location (near Gangnam) and it's very close to Nambu bus terminal station, so it offers great access to public transportation. I really recommend Bestel Residence to everyone who wants to visit Seoul and is on budget. I had a wonderful time there and I'll definitely book a room again the next time I visit Seoul! Great on budget solution! The owner is very kind and lovely, communicates well in english, always ready to help. She even prepared kimchi and rice for the guests, that was so sweet (and delicious). In the kitchen there were always some instant noodles to prepare, coffee etc. The kithchen is well equipped. I got 4 towels in my roo, slippers and 3 different shower gel which was nice too. The location is also very good, it takes 10 minutes on foot to the metro station. The neighbourhood seems safe as I was walking there by night alone and felt quite comfortable (as a girl). If you’re going on a solo trip, this place is a top choice! I will come back there :)
