The hostel was in a very convenient location. The tube stations were nearby (3 minute walk). There is a CU and restaurants near the accomodation. It was near Gwangjang market, Dongdaemun and Cheonggyecheon stream as well. The staff were all very friendly, good english skills and were helpful and accomodating to our requests and questions. The room and other facilities were clean. The mini fridge in tge room was a lifesaver. The hostel was also near the airport limousine dropoff/pickup points, around 5 minute walk.

Be mindful of your luggages when booking, as the hostel did not have a lift. But this is common in South Korea, if the building has only 5 floors they don't have lifts (according to their law)

Cosy hostel situated centrally within Seoul, just a short walk away from numerous public transport stations and restaurants. The staff are the best I have ever seen in any hotel/hostel I have stayed in so far. From the moment we stepped foot inside, we were greeted with warm smiles, a very pleasant demeanour in all of our interactions, and super helpful advice in all of our queries. We also got a welcome treat, as well as goodbye treats. Genuinely I cannot emphasise enough how amazing of the stay the staff made it for us. If they are reading this then thank you so much for making our stay so much more pleasant than it would’ve been without you <3 For other things, the hostel offers compact rooms with working AC and a bathroom; breakfast between 08:00 - 11:00 where slices of bread and access to a toaster, cereal, coffee, tea, juice, and water are provided along with plates, bowls, spoons, forks, knives, and chopsticks; and a (usually) same day laundry service for 10,000won per basket. To clarify on the laundry, it is entirely optional, however, it was super handy for us to avail of considering that Korea gets very hot in the summer months, thus we end up very sweaty and need to change clothes daily. Both times we used it we got our baskets back on the same day with freshly cleaned clothes. Would highly recommend availing of the service if you'll be staying for long. On the note of breakfast, guests are expected to clean up after themselves and wash their dishes in the sink provided in the breakfast lounge area on the top floor. Everyone was very good for this, so you should be too! There is space and food availability all throughout the breakfast period so don't feel rushed to make it in for bang on 8 o'clock, however, I would recommend having breakfast at least before 10 o'clock as most dishes will have been used by then and you'll have to use one of the recently cleaned ones.

The hostel is situated in a not so appealing alleyway and doesn't have the nicest view from the balcony. Nevertheless, it is still central and safe. Naver Maps has the hostel listed as “에어호스텔 동대문” “Air Hostel Dongdaemun”, rather than as OYO. You will also see “Air Hostel” written inside the hostel. This may be a little confusing at first when using Naver, however, writing in the above name should yield the correct location. The hostel did not appear to have any lifts, so it may not suitable for anyone suffering from mobility impairments that prevent them from using stairs.

Although breakfast was included in the price, since we woke up late, we did not take advantage of the opportunity. The staff at the reception were extremely kind, polite, smiling and extremely helpful, with excellent English skills. In a message via booking, I discussed with them whether they could take care of my suitcases for 5 days (we were traveling to Busan) before I stayed with them. They responded quickly and I was able to secure the suitcases with them at a very favorable price, even for this short period of time. We also received a welcome and farewell gift (snack) - which I think is a very nice and appreciated gesture.

Basically, it's not specifically the accommodation's problem, but other residents - despite the fact that the accommodation drew their attention to the observance of silence - were so loud at night that we couldn't sleep because of them. (Maybe it wouldn't have bothered anyone else, I'm not an easy sleeper) It is a bit difficult to find at first, and the location does not seem ideal at first- but it's actually ok.

Room was really spacious for two, given that it was a deluxe twin room, enough room space to place 2 medium-sized luggage. Bed was comfortable and the blanket was warm enough. They provide free room service so cleanliness is good. Appreciate that the shower tap and sink tap are different because some guesthouses combine them. The bathroom was also quite big so this is a plus. Towels changed on a daily basis upon request. The hostel is tucked in an alley but directions were clear and it was a breeze to find the guesthouse. Check-in and check-out process was smooth and at the end, they even provide a souvenir for staying, :) Location-wise, the hostel is located near Jongno5ga Station, but can walk to Dongdaemun Station within 5-10 min. Breakfast is simple but sufficient, they even provide different bed spreads.

There's no elevator but fortunately, we were on the 2nd level, so it's just bringing the luggage up.

By far our favorite was the open rooftop area. Since it was already in the middle of november there weren't many people who wanted to use the rooftop area so me any my friends had it for ourselves most nights. We had chicken and beer there one night, overlooking the nighttime Seoul and it was like something out of a movie - a night to remember!

You have to be aware that there can be quite a lot of chatter/noise coming from the streets even late in the evening but if you are not bothered by that, then it will not be an issue. I personally had my earplugs with me and my other friends are heavy sleepers so we didn't really care.

The rooftop area is nice. Room is clean.

The "deluxe" room is really small, maybe 9qm. Unfortunately, there is no closet to store clothes, and no hangers. All our clothes need to lay on the ground or stay in bagpack. Breakfast was basically, but better than nothing. We don't eat cow milk, we would have been thankful for soymilk to eat the cereals. Breakfast startes at 8, due to the early sunrise we would have liked to have it earlier.

Room was as described, slightly small but good for value for the price! Location is very near Jongno 5-ga metro and walkable, also walkable to dongdaemun plaza around 10-15 minutes. Breakfast was provided which is simple with cereal and bread but feels very cozy. Staff were all very helpful and polite and it was a very pleasant stay, and provided welcome and goodbye snacks. Strongly recommended for budget travellers!

Nothing I didn't like! Just remember to bring conditioner (shampoo and body wash is provided) if your hair tends to get fuzzy.

Good value for money. The facilities are ok. You can get coffee until 10 PM. The laundry service is great! This hostel is more for groups of friends than solo travelers as people are not that keen to hang out in the common area!

The rooms did not have a functional window, we couldn't open it so it was humid inside. The neighborhood has a couple brothels so walking alone late at night might be uncomfortable. We didn't have any issues tho. A couple nights/mornings were a bit noisy. The breakfast is just toast and cereal.

Super convenient location - close to metro station & walking distance to Gwangjang Market & Naksan Fortress Wall trail. Great shower, super clean room & toiletries provided. Breakfast on the rooftop was decent. Free water to refill our bottles. The welcome and goodbye snack was a nice touch! The manager John was amazing and super helpful. He went out of his way to help us solve an issue with one of our flights. We noticed he kept the breakfast station filled at all times. You will be very looked after if you stay here! The mattress was very hard and we had guests next door who would talk loudly past midnight. But all the positives outweigh the negatives. We would definitely stay here again.

The location may not suit everybody - we loved the proximity to trains and food, it was on a back lane though. The beds were bunk beds - we knew we were going to a hostel and being in a room together was our priority - others may have different priorities There are a lot of stairs - not an issue for my family but it is a long way with luggage
