The shower went baserck when I put it on. It literally shot water everywhere outside the shower cubicle up in the air and soaked the whole bathroom. The outside area is lacking unfortunately the picture on line doesn't reflect the reality. There appears to be a pool but it's an empty green dirty pond. There are no sun loungers on the terrace area. Sun terrace is only accessible around the perimeter of hotel. Why? No fridge in room. Bed comfy although we didn't sleep particularly well as air con was hit and miss. Pillows were hard. This hotel is a local stop over for police and business workers. So it gets extremely busy almost to the detriment of the paying guests. We couldn't get a coffee in the morning after queuing for 20 mins.

We have stayed so many times here . Very very dog friendly and so welcoming and helpful. No dog rules thrown at you on arrival at all . Such a great location, the team are incredible and very helpful. We needed a vet to look over our poodle . The kind lady Called the local vet Loboscott in Arranda where we were so looked after . We loved the food in the bar Great breakfast Safe parking free Plus the rooms are so comfortable plus warm . It’s a dream to be able to publish this and share such a great hotel right on the motorway.

We'd just driven through Spain and the dreadful rain and flooding caused by the DANA weather it wasn't just in Valencia and Andalucia, it seemed to be everywhere. We were knackered when we arrived with our two dogs in our 'mini submarine' and were initially concerned the hotel would be right on the motorway and totally naff. You get used to naff and being treated like lepers when travelling with dogs, even well-behaved ones, but we were pleasantly surprised. The room wasn't luxurious but it was spacious, comfortable and with a big bathroom. Plenty of hot water, towels and hanging space. The restaurant and bar were actually open. The staff spoke English and were pleasant and accommodating. There was even proper grass around and about the hotel for our dogs to make use of and bins for their toilet bags. The dogs were allowed in the bar, and the bar staff were quick to arrange a table for us to eat at in the bar as dogs were not allowed in the restaurant. We thought that was thoughtful as we hadn't had to ask them first. If we're ever back that way, we'd certainly stay at The Hotel Montermosa again.

This hotel was perfectly placed for travelling to either Santander or Bilbao from the south. It was close to the main route but you were not affected by traffic as you drove 5 minutes off the main road. The food in the restaurant was exceptionally good at a fair price and the bar food good value for money. The price for the double room was good value for money. There was a pleasant outdoor area to enjoy drinks in and lovely communal space and bar if the weather changed. Very clean and tidy.

On the whole excellent value for money, I recently reviewed the property on our way to Malaga as I previously said the service and staff are excellent! some of the rooms are looking a bit tired, I did mention that the shower in room 169 was a bit dodgy!! unfortunately it's still the same,hence the lower score. hopefully,if they read the reviews they might fix the shower,I would definitely stay again but I would ask for a different room.

bath room needs a bit of TLC

Plenty of parking available right outside. Close to main road but far enough away for minimal road noise. We ate in the bar, very nice food. Lots of locals seem to use the restaurant.

Next time I'd ask for a first floor room. The ground floor seemed to be primarily dog owners. With wooden floors it was quite noisy with the upstairs room moving their furniture around and dogs using the corridor for exercise. Not a huge issue but a bit annoying when you've done a long drive and have another day to go. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

The room was a bit stuffy and hot. Because of facing the road it wasn't possible to open the window due to the noise factor. The choice for coffee at breakfast was a Nespresso machine. If you wanted to add milk, the only option was the cold milk there for cereals, which then gave you luke warm coffee. On previous visits coffee was served from the bar with hot milk.

The hotel rooms are super big and the bed is very comfortable. We ate in the bar area and the food was lovely along with the fab wine!

Nothing to do with the hotel itself just very noisy neighbours upstairs who were shouting and carrying on and running about up to 3am so although the bed was comfortable neither myself or hubby got a decent night's sleep due to the noise which is not ideal when you have a very long journey the following day!

Well located hotel just off the motorway. Very friendly and helpful staff. Super dog friendly allowing dogs into cafe/bar. Lovely dog walks opposite along farm track with picturesque views. Tasty reasonably priced food. Free parking and WiFi.

Slightly outdated decor to guest rooms/ bathrooms but still very clean. Like all Spanish hotels there is a lack of sound insulation between rooms so if your neighbours want to listen to their tv on high volume then you have to also!

The hotel is close to A1 and very handy, Meals were adequate. Rooms very clean

Breakfast was unattended, so you had to ask for replenishments such as hot water for tea, bread for toast. The bathroom was sadly lacking safty features, I had a fall whilst trying to get out of the shower/bath as there were no grab handles or a safety mat for the shower. Wifi wasn't the best.
