What an amazing place from the underground car park to the display of the ruins of the old monastery to everything else about this Hotel. You will need to take it all in from the moment you book in and go to your room There is a Spa providing treatments to indulge yourself and an amazing indoor pool The library is a must to visit within the monastery We opted to eat in the restaurant instead of going into town and it was of very high standard Buffet style breakfast with excellent choice Really wish we had stayed longer whilst on our motorbike tour of the area

We loved everything about our stay and didn’t want to leave. The bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable and we had a lovely view out of our windows. The spa and pool are lovely calm areas. The spa comes at an extra cost but the pool is free to use. We also enjoyed walking around the parador and exploring the different areas such as the library and the archeological ruins. The breakfast buffet was very nice with a good variety to choose from. Staff were all lovely and helpful. We just wished we could have stayed longer.
Can’t think of anything

This is a beautiful, very large parador opened around 2013. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The rooms and bathrooms are huge and we booked a standard room. Food was good in the restaurant and in the bar. Do take the tour of the parador and the church offered every day at 10:30. Great location, you can walk 20 minutes to Cangas del Narcea or take a hiking trail just across the road from the parador, you will see a trail sign. We walked to Puleo, easy and quiet walk through the woods. Parking is just outside or in the garage. This was all around a very good stay.
Unfortunately the beds are awful. Very uncomfortable and are not attached to the wall. So if you lean against the wall the bed slides out! The mattresses need to be replaced and beds secured. (we were in room 302) Also umbrellas should be available in every room or made available to anyone at reception. This is Asturias after all and not everyone travels with one.

Loved this monastry and the extraordinarily sympathetic way it had been restored. Intrigued by the individual names given to each bedroom and the pair of clogs placed in the corridor outside each. The free underground parking, the lift access from the parking up to all floors and the 'museum' created next to the parkiing showing the original walls and samples of bricks and other artefacts form the days it was built as a monastry. The evening drink in the shade of the inner courtyard accessed directly from the bar. Above all, "Covi" the super helpful and welcoming receptionist who should receive recognition for her great love of the monastry and enthusiasm for it. She was equally lovely on our departure the next day!
The somewhat surley girl running the bar and the fact that we didn't have any "flip-flops" which, according to signage, were required if we wished to use the pool. But neither of these minor irritations spoiled our stay here.

Lovely large room, very comfortable beds. luxurious towels, decent water pressure, interesting library. The absolute highlight was the delicious meal which we enjoyed so much more because of the very helpful, kind and professional staff who were attentive (without hovering) and happy to spend the time explaining the menu. Would definitely return
The only downside was that the bar didn't open until 11 am and so nowhere to get a coffee in the morning - I was told I could go to the breakfast restaurant for one but that I would have to book it in advance, which for a cup of coffee seemed rather silly.

Everything about this property is exceptional Free onsite secure Parking , beautiful grounds fabulous extremely high quality interior. The room we were given was huge with an enormous double bed. The bathroom was large with a great shower and the whole place was extremely clean. The restaurant served beautiful food in stunning surroundings and the library is to die for. Such high quality acconodation at this price is difficult to find elsewhere We didn’t use the spa facilities as we were only there for one night but we did look in and found it really good
Nothing. All superb

The location is pretty much out of the way - and, frankly, the town of Cangas de Narcea is not especially interesting. However, the Parador is lovely - we liked everything about it - it's what you would expect from a Parador. So, if you want to chill out in beautiful surroundings ( the countryside is spectacular) this is the place to visit and stay in.

The bedroom was probably the largest in any Parador we have ever stayed in. Staff were very happy to deal quickly with a couple of minor problems in the bedroom. The bedroom was provided with fairly comfortable armchairs. Breakfast was up to the usual very high Parador standards. Parking was freely available.
The Parador had once been a monastery and it still felt quite austere, the bar especially so. It lacked the usual comfortable lounges. The dinner menu seemed less extensive and more expensive than other Paradors stayed in recently, some of the waiters were of a poor standard. The whole dining experience was below the normal Parador standard. I had not expected it to be right by a busy road, though the walls are so thick no road noise could be heard. Perhaps the only Parador I would not return to.

The building and decoration of the corridors
The dining room and bar were poorly decorated in quite cheap looking and feeling materials compared to the main parts of the building. The staff at dinner and breakfast seemed extremely stressed and rushed. Especially at dinner we felt very rushed to get out of there quickly so they could get the next lot in.

Beautiful place, amazing building. Very interesting history. Beds very comfortable. Good bedding. Very attentive staff.
Breakfast doesn’t do justice to the place. Good buffet but disappointing options for gluten free. Gluten free Bread is good and they understand cross-contamination but little choice of cakes and sweet puddings
