Our stay at the Garden de Playa Natural hotel was excellent. 🤩 Just as excited as we were when we arrived at this hotel, we are leaving just as thrilled. 😊 Everything was perfect—from the service of the staff to the delicious food and drinks. The room was beautiful and cleaned nicely every day. The ocean view was just the cherry on top. The pools were clean, very pleasant, and not cold at all. Best things: fantastic staff, coeliac-friendly, and wonderful swimming pools. The absolutely fabulous chefs took us through multiple coeliac options for every meal that we had at the resort, and always offered to whip something up if there wasn’t enough choice on the buffet. The food was mostly excellent, with a very wide variety available at every meal we had, and always including local and regional things. Reception staff, cleaning staff, restaurant staff, spa staff - every single person was just lovely and so helpful despite our dire Spanish. The pools are very large, not too busy, and we managed to find loungers every time we went swimming. Having a child free environment was also very peaceful! A small supermarket (no coeliac products) is a short walk away, and a huge Carrefour (with a massive selection of gluten free products) and Lidl a 12-minute drive away in Cartaya. We found it easy to find places to eat in the area that could cater to a gluten allergy. We highly recommend the intense and passionate Flamenco experience at Felahmengu II on the Av. Playas de Cartaya, but there were multiple daily entertainments at the Garden, run by very charming and energetic of entertainers. We only took part in one activity, as we wanted a peaceful break, but there’s plenty happening on-site if you’re into doing stuff on holiday. The hotel is located a 5-min walk from the beach (also a seafood bar) with a €4.50 return ferry to a better beach. It is also right next to a massive natural treed area stretching many miles, and is a 5-minute drive from a well-known wetlands walk on the western side of El Rompido. El Rompido also has a lot of eateries and lovely little shops.

There are a few serious potholes on the way up to the hotel, so watch out in your hire car! That’s all we didn’t like 😂

We had a lovely room with a good size balcony overlooking the pools. There were two beautiful swimming pools with plenty of sunbeds and a bar for drinks. The staff worked hard to ensure that the guests enjoyed their stay, and whilst we didn't take part there were several activities organised each day - for example culinary demonstrations or fitness. The evening entertainment started quite late in the evening and was always in Spanish which could be an issue for some people, however we chose this hotel because we wanted a 'Spanish' holiday so it was absolutely fine for us.

The hotel was right on the edge of the town and other than a supermarket at the end of the road, it was a long walk to any shops or restaurants. The food was fine and the staff worked really hard. Because it was a buffet the food was often cold, there was however a microwave so we tended to use that.

The food was amazing!! I’ve traveled to some places and had never stayed in a hotel with so many diversity and quality in this regard, a real banquet! The only thing missing was more red meat options, otherwise it was perfect. In general the reception, room service, bars, pools, etc, was really good. It certainly exceeded our expectations.

The outdoor beds are a bit expensive, not to mention the advertising that is done in the photos but no information about the conditional access, we have to pay €25 to use them

The pools were nice, several pool chairs available, the prices aren't so expensive, good buffet (medium/high level), we can go the the lagoon by foot (don't go in low tide), the rooms were well cleaned.

Our room is in front of the animation stage, with high volume until almost 00:00, so forget to rest before or relax if you want (one of the days we couldn't even talk). They don't give the option to decide if you want a room in front of stage or not. One of the maid, took of one of our cards and "lost it" and she forgot to put 2 towels back (we need to ask to reception). The beds could be a bit more comfy.

Location was very quiet and tranquil. Staff without fault, were friendly, polite and always helpful. Rooms are extremely comfortable and clean. Food is amazing, such a good selection. Lots was cooked fresh in front of you. Pools were always clean and fresh, with plenty of seats and sun loungers. Food available from the snack bar next to the pool was first class and very reasonably priced. It was lovely that you could get free ice cold water anywhere. Rooms had tea, kettle and mini fridge. Balcony was a good size, we had a lovely view too. Can't wait to go back really We hired the bikes too and rode to local areas; el rompido and pontil, which was great. Local roads were quiet to cycle along and there was a cycle path almost all the way to pontil. The ferry trip across to the peninsular was well worth it, the beach was clean, quiet and breathe-takingly beautiful 😍 the Spanish do like naked sun bathing, so be warned if you're squeamish!!

I would have liked to have had more healthy fitness sessions, they did pool gym, but could they offer yoga or pilates (I'd pay!)

The hotel’s calm and beautiful setting was perfect for relaxation.

English communication was a bit of a challenge at times, especially in the restaurant and with housekeeping, but everything worked out fine. One small thing – for a 4-star hotel, an iron in the room would have been a convenient addition.

Excellent sea views, beautiful location, clean, comfortable and spacious room with a big balcony, relaxing spa, wide variety of great food options for breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, fantastic pools.

The shower could have been better but it was by no means a dealbreaker.

Fantastic location on the coast. Room simplistic and comfortable. Staff Friendly and efficient. Large property with lovely swimming pools that were sparkling. Canteen really busy and buzzing with hungry guests and the noise of crockery been cleared away. Food regular buffet offering. Water machine on room floor was great .

Nothing really..

The hotel was excellent. The room was spacious with a lovely balcony and a huge bed. Having a refrigerator that was quiet was great, as was having a kettle to make a nice cup of tea. The meals were amazing with a great variety of food. The staff were very attentive and hard working.

The ambient music played around the pool could be a bit annoying. I would personally enjoy peace and quiet more but that's a personal opinion. The entertainment in the evening could be a bit loud but always finished by midnight.
