A lovely place, but we were initially cold and had no control over the heat in the room. We took a walk to the alternative parking and Mrs Coe slipped over on the crazy paved path which had lichen on it. We know the owner is not responsible for the path but someone needs to take responsibility before someone really hurts themselves.

Beautiful house, lots of character and charm, immaculately cared for.

The mattress was very uncomfortable, made sleep difficult. The bathroom tap drips and there are rust marks on the bathroom radiator. Bathroom, bit dated!

We chose this hotel for the easy access to Cabarceño animal park. Excellent breakfast, small honesty 'bar' available ( a little expensive). Great terrace.

Only slight downside was the owner/manager lack of English, or should it be our lack of Spanish, but we managed. There are only two car parking spaces available directly at the hotel - there are about six more available just a few minutes walk away. Unfortunately the restaurant just around the corner was closed the weekend we were there. We ate at Bar El Rojo in Pamanes every day - the friendliest bar we have been to in Spain.

Very charming and well-maintained building with a lovely garden and terrace where you can enjoy a peaceful evening. The details are thoughtfully designed, and the place has its own unique vibe. Nice garden view from the room, comfortable bed, and a good breakfast. Great value for money!

The ceiling and floor are quite thin and not soundproofed, so you can clearly hear any noise from the room above.

Good breakfast, we had a choice of how the eggs were cooked, plenty to eat, very good.

Check in was more complicated than we were led to believe as we had to travel first to Lierganes to check in at the hotel Miera where the reception was very slow as new technology was awkward for the gentleman checking us in. The Casa Hermosa despite the video was a little awkward to find and parking a little awkward.

This hotel was fantastic! An old house in a lovely village with spectacular views surrounded by a well kept garden. Upon opening the front door, we were assailed by the beautiful smell of beeswax polish. Our key was waiting for us on the table and there was lemon water and glasses in the hall. Full of interesting collections and pictures. Fab room with balcony covered in geraniums - just perfect! Booking in at the larger Hotel Miera in the adjacent village was no problem and the concierge was helpful and friendly.

La Casona is situated in a pretty, small village within easy travelling distance to Santander Ferry port and about one and a half hours to Bilbao ferry. It is a beautiful old house set within well kept gardens with modern sculptures displayed within the garden. Inside it is just brilliant and quirky, antiques and modern items, paintings, drawings, art work it has it all but nothing looks out of place. Our room had a modern 4 poster bed, very comfortable with crisp bedlinen. The breakfast was extensive and very good. Different breads, cakes, meats, cheeses etc and a good choice of coffee. We sat outside after breakfast on the covered wooden terrace and watched the remote controlled lawn mower meandering around the garden getting into scrapes with the sculptures and trees which seems slightly mad now but at the time was hilarious. Watching the storm the first night whilst in the garden was brilliant as it came over the mountains. The guy who prepared the breakfast was so helpful and friendly he used his app to translate as he spoke no English. He seemed to do all the work in the hotel and was very efficient and quick. A big plus for people with mobility issues _ there is a lift!

Trying to think if there was anything we had issues with., Probably the parking could have been a problem. The lanes in the village are narrow and very winding there were two parking places at the back of the property with access through the garden but these were the only ones. We were fortunate to have one the two days we were there but I do not know if there are alternative parking places in the village.

Charming, rustic, well appointed property full of eclectic mix of objets d’art and artefacts, in an idyllic location. We stayed in a suite of rooms looking out onto a hillside of pasture. It was a very quiet stopover, restful and restorative after a long journey from Lisbon. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of home-made items and attentive service. The staff were very friendly & helpful. It was an ideal location for the Santander ferry terminal, only about 15mins away.

The main downside for us was that the parking was not adjacent to the property at about 100m away. However, we did decide to leave our bicycles on the back of the car as it seemed a quiet & safe environment. The host didn’t speak English but we managed to communicate well enough. Despite being advertised as having Wi-Fi in every room, there was some ongoing problem with the connection.

Its a dream to stay in such place. Beautiful spanish home. Very well decorated. The room very clean and well setup. All necessaries availble. Very quiet place to have a complete rest. Breakfast was sumptuous. Everything was perfect and on top of this Stefan the host was great and very helpful. Will definitely book again if opportunity comes around.

We really enjoy staying here, the room the decorations outside the room and the breakfast in the morning. We use it as a base to explore the wider area. The Staff were excellent very helpful.
