Amazing building in a beautiful location and the very Nice beach of Ribadesella. Amazing restaurant with Michelin star. With view on the sea. Very friendly and helpful staff. Inside parking space across the street. Good airconditioning.
The hotel is nice but it could have much more potential. For example, our room was rather small, which was mainly challenging because it was an unpractical interior: no room to put your bathroom stuff, for example under the sink, not enough room to put your towels after shower, very small bedside table pretty full with only the bedside lamp. Really nice outside area, so it would add so much more if there would be the possibility to have a drink or some small snacks. Coffee machine in the room would be nice.

The location was amazing. Being able to hear the waves crashing.
The blonde women that greeted us at reception and showed us the room did not smile or welcome us. The breakfast staff were quite dismissive of us . Had to ask for things twice. They forgot my bacon and I eventually got up to ask the women who took my order ,she saw me coming and ran away. They spent a lot of time with spanish speakers while we waited to get served. Got the impression if you did not speak Spanish they were not really interested in you. The cleaning staff were very friendly and efficient.

I just loved this hotel and the location. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The parking for the hotel is across the road at the sister hotel where you can park outside or in the underground carpark. There is a lift from the underground carpark and in the hotel. Our room was amazing with a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel and a sea view from the side window. The room was lovely and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The aircon worked great as well. As for the breakfast, wow it was amazing. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I was sorry we weren't staying here longer as we stayed here on our first night after getting off the ferry at Santander. The beach is lovely and right outside the hotel. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around but it's hard to find somewhere before 8.30 so we opted for a little cafe around the corner. I would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be staying here again. The design of the hotel is fantastic.

The hotel itself, design & style was amazing....reminiscent of The Adams Family.....even with oversized doors! Fantastic location on the promenade/back of beach with easy if longish walk into town. Bedroom was a little bijou but warm & comfy with a great bathroom/shower & lovely fluffy towels. A lovely welcoming gift of artisan chocolate florentines were in the room on arrival. (unfortunateley there was no coffee available to go with them). Breakfast was lovely served in the restaurant overlooking the sea (unfortunately the different options were not clearly explained by staff....& our Spanish wasn't good enough either!).
Being advised by the hotel 1 day before we arrived that the restaurant was going to be closed on the evening we were staying there (one of the reasons for booking so we didn't have to go find another place to eat at night). It was also after our free cancellation period. This also meant that when we arrived mid afternoon you could not get a hot or cold drink nor was the bar open.....no refreshment facilities which for a 4 star hotel is poor!

Location, high quality if accommodation
The restaurant was very expensive. Fine dining meant a small expensive menu that was well cooked and presented, but small portions not extraordinarily different from others. A tasting menu was very expensive. Breakfast was continental style with limited dishes. Abundant fruit (ready prepared) was however provided free in the room every day. The building itself is only accessible to those capable of walking steep stone steps

The property is beautifully decorated, offering a large room with a peaceful beach view. It’s very quiet, making it an ideal place to relax. Upon arrival, we found a note and a bag of Moskovitas (a delicious cookie) on our bed, which was a thoughtful gesture. There is a coffee maker in the room. A complimentary large bottle of water would have been a nice touch to complement it. On a positive note, the breakfast is good, and the restaurant staff are friendly and attentive. Also, the amenities provided are of high quality. Parking is conveniently located at their sister hotel just across the street, which is crucial if you're traveling by car, as parking is very difficult to find anywhere in the village.
Unfortunately, there was in an important downside: the room floor was not properly cleaned. I noticed this because the soles of my white slippers turned black after just one night.

Situated on the promenade by the main beaches, Villa Rosario is an outrageously grand looking building in the Mexican style and has me thinking of the Adams Family every time I look at it. I was enchanted by it when we were here last year and it is as lovely as I had hoped. Check in was charming and parking at the sister hotel across the road is very good. I have an Audi Q5 and the entry to the underground parking is spacious as are the car bays. Our room on the first floor is roomy and comfortable and has the added benefit of a large balcony overlooking the garden and with views of the mountains. The en-suite is also roomy and very smart, and has good quality toiletries, big fluffy towels and a splendid shower. Breakfast is served in the adjoining restaurant which has a Michelin star. As previous reviews suggested that the service was over complicated, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but in reality the service was friendly and efficient and the system of ordering etc is perfectly simple. On arrival we had a basket of fresh breads, cakes etc already on the table along with fresh fruit. There is also a jar of fresh tomato paste for your “Tostada con Tomate”, and toast was brought to us along with our choice of hot beverage. From the simple menu we selected some nicely seasoned cherry tomatoes, bacon and perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. In short, the service and organisation were perfect and our food was delicious. We both enjoy visiting the north of Spain, and Ribadasella is one of our favourite towns. We hope to return on a regular basis and, having discovered this fabulous hotel, Villa Rosario will certainly be our hotel of choice.
Nothing - it was perfect.

Everything! The initial and on-going communication was excellent. The hotel building is an architectural gem with lots of charm. Reception staff were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. The room allocated had a small balcony on the first floor with a beautiful view over the beach, It was quiet, spacious and comfortable with all the facilities we required. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The wait staff were very attentive and professional. We left our car in the hotel car park which was an absolute bonus given the nil parking availability around town. Finally, due to our schedule we could only stay one night but it was a delight. When we go back to Ribadesella for longer, we will be staying at Hotel Villa Rosario!
Nothing to dislike!

Superb boutique hotel with a great beach setting on Playa de Santa Marina. We planned to stay one night but extended our stay for two additional nights due to illness. Staff were amazingly kind and helpful in response, providing simple extra meals when I was sick and many small thoughtful acts, like bringing up a kettle and tea bags without being asked. Our room was in the historic old building, a colorful building with great character. Our room was clean and spacious and offered a great view overlooking the beach while providing a lovely background sound of ocean waves. Before the illness, we enjoyed a lovely walk along the beach on a beautiful Spring day. The included breakfast was amazing, with many hot and cold dishes to order. (Their scrambled eggs were not only delicious, but came in a presentation that was a work of art.) We never had supper at the restaurant, but its reputation is renowned. What the hotel offered exceeded our expectations in many dimensions and provided tremendous value. In our view, this is a wonderful place with great hospitality for a stopover if you're travelling across the coastal areas of Northern Spain.
There wasn't a single thing where the hotel came up short.

Loved the building, the location right next to the water and, most especially, the one-star Michelin restaurant. I stayed here two nights to rest up during my Camino walk (and dined at that Michelin restaurant both nights). I had a lovely corner room with views of both the water and the mountains. The bathroom was large. And the breakfast was incredibly good—NOT a buffet but an actual menu of anything you could desire. So delightful to sip a café con leche and devour a lovely breakfast made to order while gazing out at the water. The menu is quite comprehensive and the staff is eager to serve you. I spent part of my free day catching up on things back home, seated at the lovely desk in my room!
I wish the room included a coffee maker and/or tea.
