The property is in a small village without restaurants so as walkers we needed food. They provided a delicious dinner and breakfast for a very reasonable price. It was home cooked food and served in a small dining conservatory in the garden with a view of the mountains. It was not in the information on booking com so we only found out by messaging them. If you are walking the Camino it is a lovely place to stay.

Villalen is incredible! We stayed here while walking the Camino del Norte and cannot recommend it highly enough. Our room was lovely and the property is beautiful and peaceful. Carlos, the host, makes a delicious multi-course evening meal that is priced for peregrinos (don’t miss this meal!). Breakfast was also excellent. Staying here was like a little slice of heaven!

We loved everything!

A beautifully made and decorated property. The kindness and service of owner was remarkable - made us feel comfortable. The town, a bit of a walk, stopped predictable good food services so Villalen owner decided to make dinner for guests themselves. Great food! Walked guests to gate to show directions on departure with urging to add a coastline excursion that turned out breath taking. Would stay again in a minute. Longer.

Basically everything. The property is lovely. The room had a lot of character and it was cozy. The hosts are sweet and hardworking. They prepared a complete breakfast for me in a charming out building with a wood stove. When I left, the host escorted me to the street and pointed the way to the trail. Lovely people.

I loved everything.

Spacious and comfortable. I think they offered food in a charming “greenhouse,” but I never figured it out due to the language barrier and the fact that I ate just before I arrived. Worth checking if you’re considering this accommodation. The owner was very nice.

Stubbed my toe on the raised floor to the bathroom. No sign to let me know I was at the right place; entrance was confusing.

the location was nice and close to the beautiful coastline, we liked the balconies and the beds were comfortable, and the location was quiet. the showers were lovely. and everything was very clean. The host was friendly and helpful.

overall we really liked our short stay, but we didnt like the air fresheners in every room, the smell was too strong. We would have also liked to have access to a kitchen, however there was a microwave available.

Can’t say enough good things about our experience. Staff, food, room, location are all excellent. Our hosts went above and beyond to make the experience special, including providing a bottle of Sidar to toast our anniversary.

Beautiful location in a rural village. Lovely traditional house. Owner took great care of all guests. Taking evening dinner at Villalen is highly recommended. Only slightly off the Camino Norte. One of my best stays.

What a special place this is. I came in out of the pouring rain off the Camino, and Carlos got me settled in… got a fire going so I could dry my shoes etc. my room was terrific. So clean and cozy! They served me, a delicious and very abundant dinner in the dining area, by the fire! I love this place!

Very relaxed family house. Owners very friendly and helpful. Evening meal and excellent breakfast provided in a sun room in the garden. Evening meal was very large and traditional for the area.

WiFi weak in parts of the house. Extra extension router required.
