Manuel, Sebastian and Anna were superb and always helpful at the front desk in reception. Always assisting with any queries my son and I had about the area. Helped us with directions to the train station, to the nearby beach, called us taxis when we needed it and recommended good take aways in the local area. Also Roberto, Marc and David sorted us breakfast and dinner. Always great service with a smile. We felt very welcomed at Hotel Exe Barcelona Gate. In addition, the cleaning staff always brought anything that we ran out of, no issues at all. We would definitely recommend if you are in the area. Very warm atmosphere around such nice people.

We had free wifi, everything was clean. Showers were warm and they supplied shower gel and shampoo. There was breakfast included, a small gym to use which I took advantage of. There was nothing that I disliked.

The location is within a peaceful part of the city or as a taxi driver said "That's not Barcelona, Barcelona is on the right, Despi on the left". Nevertheless, the peaceful outskirts of the city, are connected with the Barcelona centre by train and bus+metro. I highly recommend the train since it's quicker and easier with fewer stops, and you pay for only one ticket. The hotel is also peaceful, from guests to staff, rooms with high ceilings and windows can be opened, which is a rare thing in modern times. The room and bathroom were spotless.

A kettle to make hot water for tea or coffee would be ideal and would mean a lot, even with breakfast in the hotel, to make the stay a bit more cosy and to have the freedom in the early mornings or late nights. Staff did change the towels every day, which is nice, but we should stick to the policy of reusing the towels especially when the guest didn't ask for a change.

The staff were kind, helpful and attentive. Due to medical needs they accepted my early check-in and gladly spoke (near perfect) English as my tiredness lead to a bit of a malfunction in my Castellano (Spanish). I stayed at the hotel before and after my journey and on both occasions the rooms were attractive and the beds comfortable. The bathroom on both occasions was exceptional with high-quality toiletries and a bath with a shower above, the whole thing completely enclosed making it draught-proof, which for me was fantastic. The room for my second visit was beautifully warm and having not only kindly stored two small bags for me while I was away, I was also affably helped to my car with all of my luggage. The underground carpark was large, secure, easy to access and reasonably priced given its location, meaning easier, hassle-free access to the airport, albeit with taxi fares.

I was really quite cold on my first visit. The heating didn’t seem to heat the room at all and in the end I had to ask for a blanket. On this occasion it was a superior room and very big, so there was a lot of space to heat and I am extremely prone to the cold - so I would suspect this was more of a particular problem for me than for the general population. The hotel was not known to the taxi driver on my return visit, meaning he got lost, costing me an extra 10€. Clearer signing and ensuring taxi drivers are aware of the location would be a great improvement.

The staff were very welcoming on arrival. The room was prepped and ready on arrival, which was lovely considering our nighttime check-in. No delays and clear explanation of facilities available. There was a young man whose name began with V, who went above and beyond with his customer service. Always had a smile and made sure our requests were dealt with. Honestly, the whole team we dealt with was amazing. Rooms were clean, obvious normal wear and tear, but that didn't take away from the comfort of the room. Nice quiet location just outside Central Barcelona. You can walk into Sant Joan Despri for a few cafés and convenience stores. Gey the bus or tram to central. Barcelona stadium we accidentally discovered is a short walk from the hotel. Pleasant stay.

Not so much didn't like. This is merely subjective. There was no kettle in the room (we enjoy a bit of hot water to drink), however, the young man from the concierge found us one, which was more than expected.

We let the hotel know in advance that our flight would be arriving before the check-in time, and they made sure to have a room ready for us — which was so appreciated after 20 hours of travel. The room was very clean, spacious, and had plenty of outlets. The breakfast spread was amazing, and every single staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. We loved our stay and would absolutely return.

Absolutely nothing — everything was wonderful!

Compared to other options, this hotel seemed reasonable. When the train doesn't have to make an extra stop and wait, you can get to the centre in 45 minutes (15 minutes on foot, 30 on the train), but there are also bus stops very near. Breakfast was great, a lot of things to choose from. Rooms are cleaned daily. It's a rather big hotel but always felt safe. San Joan Despi is beautiful town with small shops and restaurants. You can meet how the locals live here, rather than in Barcelona.

No tea/coffee, cutlery in the room, but we could survive. Be sure to pack your food thoroughly.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the place was very clean. It’s located in a great area that feels safe and is close to everything. Only 4 metro stops to La Rambla, 4 bus rides to Camp Nou, and just 12 minutes by car to the airport.

If you’re coming back late at night using public transportation, it can take around an hour or more, which is a bit inconvenient.

Even with a short stay like mine, the hotel tried to make it as comfortable as possible. The location of the hotel is nice as the amenities.

The hotel was in a nice place,you can take R4 train and go to the city center easily.There are market,cafes and restaurants nearby and you can have really nice breakfast at the hotel

Clean spacious room with good aircon and toiletries. Quiet neighbourhood 20 minutes by train from Playa Catalunya, central Barcelona. Helpful staff who speak English well.

Quite difficult to reach the hotel from the airport by public transport.You can take the train from the airport and change to the R4 line to Sant Joan Despi at the city stations. This trip will take over an hour. The L77 bus leaves from Terminal 1and 2 at the airport and takes around 1hour to get to Sant Joan Despi. However, you have to change to the L46 bus or walk 500m to reach the hotel - tricky!Taxis cost €25-€30 and will get you there in 15 minutes.
