Hotel El Castell is situated at the top of a steep hill overlooking the town. Not a great location if you want to walk anywhere but for a one night stay it has everything you need on site. Bar, restaurant, parking. The restaurant was very good. It is dated and was probably quite grand in its day but it was very comfortable and the staff were all friendly and accommodating. Shame it was a rainy evening as the terrace would have been lovely in the evening sun. A very enjoyable stay close to the airport. There are roadworks close by which are unavoidable so allow a bit of extra time to get to your destination.

We were very impressed with this hotel. It has been built from a 6th century castle, and is quirky and unusual. We spent the afternoon just walking around the gardens, there was so much to see and wonder about. The gardens were beautiful, our room even had its own private garden, which was nice first thing in the morning. Included in the modest price we paid was dinner and breakfast! The dinner was 3 course, with a choice of 3 starters, mains and dessert! The breakfast was self service, and included everything you could want. The swimming pool was clean and very well maintained. Put it this way, if we go to Barcelona again, this is where I will book!

It was very clean, nice smell, beds very comfortable and big, ac available and well working, rooms very spacious and nice looking. Reception non-stop, guys at the front desk weren't really talkative but they were professional and helped us with what we needed. They accept dogs which is nice. Checkout and checkin were quick and Easy.

Parking was available but you couldn't book in advance and we were extremely lucky to grab one spot because someone was just leaving and couldn't move our car anymore because we wouldn't be able to park later on. We wanted to eat dinner and breakfast in their restaurant but they do not accept dogs although the hotel itself does which we found a little strange, although they do have seating outdoors.

Loved the commanding view over the city, water and airport. Easy 10 minute walk to train/metro into Barcelona. Clean rooms and bed. Due for some updates, but everything functions. Good breakfast and nice dinner restaurant. A few restaurants options available in nearby village. Friendly staff. Nice pool and patio.

Internet strength/connection not optimal. Otherwise a great option for visiting Barcelona while remaining outside of the city!

Our room was clean and beds comfortable enough. Loved the location on top of the hill with the view. Peacefull and beautifull. Also loved the walk to the train station trhough narrow streets. Good pizza and nice staff.

Overall look was a little dated but l enjoy locations with character, rather than steril carbon copies. On our first night the heating was on, so the room was way too hot but only on the first night.

Our cruise ended in Barcelona and we decided to stay on an extra night. After the hustle and bustle of the city we took a taxi from just outside The Sagrada Famillia for about 35 Euros. We passed through an industrial area, but soon ended up on the road leading to the hotel. The view was amazing. The room had full length windows and a Juliet balcony. there was a pleasant garden and an inviting swimming pool, though we didn't use it. It was convenient for the airport.

The restaurant was rather bland with limited food and wine menu.

OK then. Beautiful views from the pool and patio looking back towards Barcelona and the airport from this boutique old castle on the highest part of Sant Boie. I was pleasantly surprised how big the room and bath (with biddet) was. Good heat pump pumping out lots of cold air. Pool was great, 7feet at deep end. Enjoyed Sangrias and olives and sandwiches on their patio at lunch. Staff were fine. Some spoke English better than others, but hey, it is their country. 15 minutes from the airport, 25 EU. Note, if you have a lot of luggage, ask for a taxi Grande!

It’s an old hotel, don’t expect luxury, but! The rooms are of good size, beds are comfortable and clean, breakfast is very good-you will have hot food, good coffee, fruits, yogurts, cereals, cuts, cheese-very good for the future travel. And yes-it is a place to spend a night before the flight, the airport is 15 min away without traffic. Very good option, we do recommend it and will use it again when flying from Barcelona. Oh, yes-it was nicely decorated for Christmas and the stuff was very friendly and helpful,

The rooms definitely need a reform , but as I said-this hotel is not for luxury, it works well for its purpose.

Brilliant stop over for the airport.Suprisingly quiet out of the bustle of the city and commercial district.The unique parakeets alarm call in the morning! Easy parking.

A lot of the previous reviews raised deterioration and decor. We only stayed overnight so weren't overly bothered.However attention to minor issues like plug for bath and tv did not work and bedside light loose on the wall.
