Blue Wave 10/10 Our expectations of Arugam Bay were pretty flat. As we took the turn off of the main road up to the hotel, we gave each other a nervous glance as the area between the main road and the hotel is pretty rundown, however as the driver turned into the hotel reception area, ww felt immediately at ease. The hotel is large with a decent size swimming pool and restaurant area (although the restaurant area was mainly used for breakfast only). The room was clean, spacious and functional with everything you need. There are viewing balconies at L2 as well as a rooftop terrace area where you can watch the sunrise. but what really made this hotel such a special experience was the staff. Chamara and the team really went the extra to make sure that everything was done perfectly. Whenever we had a question or a request the team were there to assist (Chamara very knowledgeable about Sri Lankan history and great for travel Tips). The location is also superb. You are literally a 1min walk away from the main strip and a 2min walk from the beach. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay at the hotel longer as we had to move on due to full occupancy. Overall, highly recommended.

I was actually pleasantly surprised at this hotel. I had read some negative reviews but I like the hotel. The rooms were nice, with comfortable beds. The bathroom was clean. There was a fridge and a patio. We had a ground floor room so we had no issues with the elevator. The pool was lovely. The food was good. We ate dinner at the restaurant twice, off the Ala carte menu and it was very tasty. They were very accommodating, making us breakfast packets since we has to leave at 4am and at 2am! Greatly appreciated! We ate one breakfast at the hotel and it was buffet, very nice.
