This is a lovely small hotel just outside the centre of Galle. The guys who run it were simply the best - super helpful, giving tips, arranging transport etc. and genuinely wanted us to have the best experience. The breakfast is generous (freshly made to order each day) and delicious: breads, cake, fruit, toast, eggs. Everything at the hotel was clean, spacious, comfortable and relaxing. Thanks!

No complaints about the hotel staff, but the staff in the “reservations office” were not easy to get hold of. They don’t work Sundays! In fairness we tried to amend the check in date a little last minute but all to three numbers on their website and this website were sent to voicemail, emails and messages unanswered. Finally….after about 10 phone calls we spoke to someone and the booking change was agreed.

The hotel was beautifully done. It was green and courtyard was surrounded by tropical trees. The pool was great for a dip. We stayed in a triple room where the single bed was placed in a aloft and the double bed was downstairs so the common room are felt nice and spacious. The bathroom was big and well lit. We also liked that we had our own balcony overlooking the hotel courtyard and pool. The breakfast here was one of the best we've had. The staff were super friendly and courteous.

I cant think of anything. The hotel provided us everything we wanted from comfortable beds to delicious food.

The staff were absolutely wonderful and so helpful with anything we needed. The rooms were v clean - we stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment. The food was nice too both breakfast and once we had evening meal there. The manager recommended we visit the sister hotel on the beach in Galle where they provided us with sunbeds and towels without charge which was really nice to do one day.

The bedrooms were all air conditioned but the living area and kitchen were not. This wasn’t a major issue for us in December but suspect in the summer wouldn’t be ideal.

The staff and the food at Bilin were equally amazing. We were looking forward to seeing what type of surprise was waiting for us at breakfast each day. Indiga (spelling?) and the staff were so accommodating and were ready to assist at every turn. We were even invited to a NYE celebration in the area which turned out to be a blast. The Lotus room we stayed in was spacious and the bed was unbelievably comfortable.

The only complaint we had (and the only reason why our stay wasn't 10 out of 10) was with the wifi. Although we could connect easily, the wifi wasn't adequate enough to send emails/do any work. However, since we weren't there for the internet, but rather to relax, it wasn't a deal-breaker.

Staff were amazing. Cleanliness of the property was great. Food was incredible and staff were very good at making sure they could make something that suited dietary requirements and ages. Beautiful property overall.

Location was close to town but right next to a school so could be loud during lunch times if you were trying to relax by the pool. Nothing really to walk to in the surrounding neighbourhood, would always need to get transport to other things.

This hotel has just 4 rooms plus another bungalow they rent out and is a little off the beaten track (5-10 mins drive to Galle) which was no issue for us as we were on a tour with a driver. We loved it - the rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable and AC worked well. They don't clean your rooms however each day but didn't bother us (we were there 2 days). The room we had was perfect as we had our 12 year old with us and it has a mezzanine floor with an additional bed which he loved. The pool is like a little oasis and great to cool off in after a days site seeing. It's easy to get to Galle and also only about 10-15 mins the other direction to Unawatuna and other beaches which was perfect for us. We ate in Galle in the evenings. Breakfast was excellent with lovely friendly service.

Only thing would be if the rooms were cleaned once a day.

The small villa with a private garden and access to the refreshing pool with partial shade was great. The beds were very comfy. Being from a tropical country, we could appreciate the mosquito control in the villa which is not easy given the fact it is surrounded by trees. If you like walking up early to bird songs, this place is a pure delight. So is the garden - rich with a variety of flora. The staff Lahiru & Indika were super courteous, prompt and helpful. The breakfast is simple, fresh & wholesome. It is a quiet location, just a short distance away from the beaches & the fort. The villa provided some extra space to spread out our stuff. Though I'd like to make a few suggestions 1) a fan added to the living room would make it more usable. It gets quite hot. 2) the furniture in the living room can be changed to more cushiony comfortable pieces. 3) a table or a surface in the bedroom to put your luggage on would be nice. 4) the sheers in the extra bedroom let the street light in as well as the morning light in. Thicker curtains can be added for sounder sleep. This is not to say we didn't enjoy our stay. We loved it !!

Though it isn't something we didn't like but I think it's important to point out for people who it matters to. 1) the description says there is a washing machine & microwave. There isn't. For people traveling with kids or stopping over at the villa hoping to do laundry for their trip ahead this may be important. 2) it is mentioned "extra large" double bed. It is a regular sized comfortable bed. We had a good stay.

We stayed at Bilin Tree House for one night at the end of a week traveling around Southern Sri Lanka--we wanted a place with a refreshing pool and good service to end our trip on a high note. Bilin Tree House delivered with flying colors! The pool is beautiful and cool, perfect for a hot afternoon. The service is amazing - we had several questions and requests during and before our stay, and the staff went truly above and beyond to accommodate us. We happened to stay there on Avurudu/New Year's Day, and the chef prepared a beautiful and generous breakfast for us to usher in the new year together. The beds were very comfortable and the mosquito nets are high quality. The Holiday House is a perfect size for a family of 4-6, with a very nice living room area that our kids enjoyed building forts and playing hide and seek in.

We visited during a very hot/humid/mosquito-y time of year, and the garden had a lot of mosquitoes. Recommend bringing long lightweight pants/dresses and/or bug spray to prevent bites when lounging by the pool. (This goes for everywhere we stayed, not just Bilin.) I mention it only because the poolside is so lovely, it's a shame to not be prepared to enjoy it fully.

Beautiful, well-decorated place, in an absolutely mangificent garden. All in a very quiet location, yet close (by tuk tuk) to both the beautiful historic town of Galle and the beaches. But the magic of the place lies above all in the two people who run it: Indika and Layeru. Attentive to travelers and utterly professional, they welcome you and advise you, taking you to the right places. You're in total confidence. And when you come back after a good day, you feel at home. Best breakfast of our entire stay in Sri Lanka!!!!!. We recommend this place without hesitation.

I had a wonderful stay! The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. The pool was absolutely beautiful, a perfect place to unwind. The location is slightly secluded from the hustle and bustle of Galle, which makes it ideal for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. If you’re looking for tranquility and a stunning pool, this is the perfect spot!
