⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Villa Surf Beach – Bonavista, Galle, Sri Lanka Our stay at Villa Surf Beach was excellent. The hotel is perfectly located, right on Bonavista Beach – an amazing spot to relax and enjoy the ocean. The facilities were very clean and well-maintained, which made our stay super comfortable. What really stood out was the incredible service. As we were leaving, we realized we had forgotten a driver’s license and were already more than 50 km away. Maduu, one of the staff members, went above and beyond and brought it to us by motorbike at 11 PM. Such an amazing gesture that shows their true dedication to guests! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for comfort, a great location, and outstanding hospitality.

This very small hotel is perched right on a very nice and safe surfing and swimming beach. Water temperature in late January 28c Our sea-front room had very good air con and a very nice large balcony with table & chairs. The hotel does excellent meals, which you eat looking out onto the sea, and also has decent coffee. The hotel does take payment by credit card with a 3% surcharge. Well worth a visit to the nearby Japanese Peace Pagoda and the Galle Fort area.

We did very much enjoy our stay, but: The hot water takes a long time to come. Our room key was at times impossible to operate. The curtains covered only 75% of the French windows. The very young men in charge like playing loud rap music through a huge speaker, but will turn it down when asked! The management is sketchy: apart from the key problem, we started with no towels and we're not offered a cleaning service. A light bulb or two need. Ceiling fan & one power socket not working. Poor WiFi. The rooms facing North onto the main A2 road may suffer from traffic noise. Drinking water provided free only on day 1.

It was a small but nice room with a good private bathroom. Nice hot shower. The location is great on the beach with many surf schools. Unfortunately in the evening the air conditioning was broken and a mechanic was called. Since it was late and it was an off day because of the full moon, it was not possible to fix the air conditioner immediately. So Mohan arranged an upgrade to a large room in a villa nearby (Villa Harvour view) with terrace by a river and arranged a cab. At our request, we were able to stay here for 2 nights. On the day we had to leave, my husband became seriously ill. Mohan arranged for us to stay longer and took care of us. He offered to call a doctor and arrange medication. The view of our room was amazing! Overall location is good and perfect if you are surfing. Good food served at the restaurant. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

They left windows open and we had a big spider in the shower then when we went to bed had an unpleasant surprise to find a cockroach between the pillows. I am terrified of spiders and cockroaches and had to sleep with one eye open. Luckily we booked the apartment with 2 bedrooms so we changed rooms. We told the staff and they were helpful and took the spider out. They offered to change rooms if we wanted but since we had the extra bedroom then stayed in the apartment.

As the weather was going to be changeable we especially booked the room with the big balcony. It was fantastic we could sit outside rain or shine! Just what we wanted. Staff were friendly - we had a cocktail at the bar but not good quality for the price. At the time we stayed the restaurant never seemed to be used. The room was expensive for what was but for us the balcony made it worth the money!!

A truly beautiful place, we were here in August and had a lot of fun surfing. We stayed in appartement 'Ocean' which is the upper appartement at the seaside. The airconditioned bedrooms were perfect, however, there was no airconditioning in the living room. So during day we kept the bedroom door open and after a couple of hours the temperature in the living room was good too.

We were welcomed by one of the staff named Mohan who also knew to speak Hindi which was a big plus point. The room location was so beautiful with a Beachfront view. The restaurant also had good and tasty food but at the higher side cost wise. Overall Mohan helped us a lot with his knowledge about the area

The room was clean but the door would not open properly. It used to get stuck while opening but I am sure it will get fixed soon.

Location was excellent, I could just walk out and swim. Or get a tuk tuk out front. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Nice to get real coffee or a good meal. Full bedroom mirror would please some!

Room was quite small and there were no tea/coffee facilities. Stairs were a bit steep (would not suit some demographics.)

Let's start with the highlight of my stay—the view from the balcony. It was, without a doubt, the bestest part of the entire experience. Stepping onto the balcony, I was greeted by an awe-inspiring panorama of the beach and the sparkling ocean. The sight of the waves crashing against the shore was both invigorating and calming, creating the perfect backdrop for a peaceful escape. Speaking of the apartment room, I was pleased to find that it had all the features one could ask for. The room was well-equipped and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. The inclusion of wine glasses and beer glasses added a touch of sophistication and convenience. It was a pleasure to relax in the cozy ambiance of the room after a long day exploring the beach and its surroundings. The staff at Villa Surf Beach were friendly and attentive, ensuring that all our needs were met during our stay. The cleanliness of the apartment and the promptness of the service were commendable, contributing to a pleasant and hassle-free experience. Furthermore, the beachfront location of Villa Surf Beach added an extra layer of charm to the stay. The convenience of stepping right onto the sandy shores and indulging in the calming embrace of the sea was truly invigorating. The sound of crashing waves and the refreshing sea breeze created a serene atmosphere that washed away the stresses of daily life. In conclusion, Villa Surf Beach offers a beachfront paradise that will leave you mesmerized by its breathtaking views and comfortable accommodations. While the absence of water bottles was a minor drawback, the overall experience was highly enjoyable.

However, I must mention one aspect that fell short of expectations—the absence of water bottles. As a guest staying for two days, it was disappointing not to have complimentary water bottles provided. The tap water, unfortunately, did not taste very pleasant, and it would have been more convenient to have access to bottled water within the apartment. This minor inconvenience did slightly impact the overall experience.

The best view in that beach. There are only two rooms have balcony with the ocean view. Amazing view just in front of the beach. The staff are very kind and keen on helping anytime. Refrigerator is working well and very quiet.

The towels and the sheets were old they easily ripped. AC could be a bit stronger.
