The villa is modern and spotless. It has everything you need including dressing gown, slippers, hairdryer, coffee and tea, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, dental kit and vanity kit. The breakfasts are extensive, varied and delicious! The staff and owners are lovely and go out of their way to make the stay comfortable, they even checked on me a few times when I had travelled for a day tour to Yala with a tour organiser they didn't know. The property is located 20 minutes walk from Unawatuna beach - the walk is a pleasant one past many shops and restaurants, straight down the main road and then left at Ceylon Spa. I walked it alone both during the day and in the evening and felt safe. The hotel is down a lane off the main road, which is lovely to walk down during the day, but isn't well lit at night so can a feel a bit precarious at night due to its unfamiliarity. Turtle beach and Angel beach are also a pleasant 40 minute walk away. The hotel also arrange very comfortable airport transfer as well as tours to many of the local sites.

Only that daily housekeeping needs to be requested, but I know that many hotels now follow this. Once I knew this the room was cleaned daily.

Absolutely loved this accommodation, booked for one night and extended our stay to 4 nights we loved it that much - it’s been the best so far on our 3 week trip to Sri Lanka, fabulous spacious modern accommodation, beautiful pool and grounds, very secure with 24hr security, location was perfect - we caught the bus which was a 2 minute walk to the bus stop into Galle, and also took the bus into Mirissa which cost under a £1 for the both of us. Breakfast was also wonderful, something different each day. However, the best by far for us was the staff - so lovely, friendly and genuinely welcoming 🩷 such a wonderful stay and I’d definitely stay if I return 🙏🏼

Nothing at all - we loved everything about it 💞

The place is a paradise. I originally was only going to stay for one night, then extended it to two night, and then extended it to four nights. The staff are so friendly, kind, and will do anything for you. The main lady (forgotten your name, sorry, it begins with S) was really helpful and accommodating, and the guys who work there are so smiley and kind (as are the security men who work at the gate). The view from the villas is spectacular. I was quite high up and the view was worth triple the price. Waking up eery morning to that sunrise is an experience. The villas are huge and have everything you’d need in there. The pool area js very relaxing and you can use the pool 24 hours a day. Every evening I’d just chill out by there and it was so calm. I also walked to and from the property to the beaches and the town; it’s not far at all. My advice is to pay a little extra (I think like 5-10€) and get the actual villa. For the first two nights I had booked the Double Room and it’s just like a hotel room (still nice) and the villas are double the size and a lot more comfortable.

Everything is perfect. Only thing I’d like to have is a bit more variety in the gym area. I didn’t use it because it wasn’t really equipped, but there are two gyms outside the property a five min walk away and cost about 1-2€ per day. There were few ants in the room, but this didn’t really bother me and if I had told the staff I am sure they would have done something. ADVICE: Use the WhatsApp number if you need anything. For the first two days I went downstairs a few times to get what I needed, but I should have just used the WhatsApp number.

I had a fantastic 7-day stay at Villa Rumassala—and I loved it so much that I extended my visit by another 10 days. I was based there while completing a medical elective at a nearby hospital, and the villa offered the perfect balance of comfort and tranquillity. Tucked away from the main road, it felt like a peaceful retreat, complete with a serene pool and fresh towels provided daily. The Villas are located about 15 min walk from the main Unawatuna beach and shopping/food area or a short tuktuk ride to Jungle beach (unless you're ok with walking up some steep hills!). The rooms were spacious, exceptionally comfortable, and featured modern, spotless bathrooms. I particularly appreciated the communal kitchen area, which included a kettle and a washing machine—small touches that made a big difference during a longer stay. There was 24/7 security, making me feel safe throughout my stay. There was also a small gym that was open 24/7, however it did not have aircon which might put people off using in the Sri Lankan heat! What truly made my time unforgettable was the staff. They were incredibly warm and welcoming, always making sure I had everything I needed. I was even invited to join in the Sinhala New Year celebrations—a beautiful and memorable experience. A special thank you to Sasini, whose kindness and attention to detail ensured I was comfortable throughout my stay.

Very good breakfast in buffet form. Clean large pool. Secured facility (which is important). Very helpful and polite staff, really 10/10. Nice room with a terrace and refrigerator. Quiet area, no noise, shops and restaurants nearby. About 2 km to the main beach along the main road or by tuk-tuk.

There was an invasion of ants in the bathroom and sometimes spiders too :). We were charged for room service but no one showed up to, for example to clean the flooded bathroom due to a leaky shower partition, unless it was only about cleaning the terrace. About 10% of the price consists of fees and taxes - for me it was quite unclear and poorly presented by booking.com in the reservation summary. Once again, it was unpleasant to pay at check in.

We stayed in the villa at the top, which offered a stunning view thanks to the large panoramic doors and windows. We stayed in Room 19, which turned out to be spacious and cozy. It had all the necessary amenities: air conditioning, a comfortable bed and mattress (just like home), new beautiful and comfortable furniture, nice bathroom with a large shower, a bidet, and a washing machine. We were pleased to have a kitchen, a refrigerator, and household items. The territory is simply magnificent, it was looked after every day, the place is full of beautiful trees where birds sing and build nests. You can see how grows mango, papaya, lime, bamboo, etc. It’s like a paradise. There’s also a pool on the premises. It was nice to dip in and spend time there. Staff:
 The first thing that comes to mind about the staff is their smiles and politeness. I thank everyone who works in this place for their kindness and friendliness. Sasini always tried to assist us with any inquiries: helping with little requests, organizing excursions, and you could talk to her about the culture and traditions in Sri Lanka. She was very responsive and kind, even giving me a small gift to remember our stay. Driver Sandaru was always friendly and quickly took us to the necessary places in a tuk-tuk. He recommended visit a turtle hatchery and took us to nice beaches: Dalawela Beach and Jungle Beach, which are not far from the villa. He even gifted us some incense, it was nice. Every 3-4 days, we were offered cleaning, and they vacuumed, changed the sheets, towels, and wiped all surfaces and mirrors. However, you could also request cleaning earlier if needed. Breakfast was included in the price:
A buffet was offered mostly local food, but it was always varied. One day my wife mentioned that she likes the Aralia flower, and later the staff presented it to her just like that, it was a very kind and nice gesture.

One of the perfect stay we had during our Sri Lanka Trip. Villa Rumassala Luxury Chalets exceed all our expectations. Villas were huge and exceptionally clean. Kitchen was well equipped and bathroom had a washing machine too. There was greenery all around and so very peaceful. The staff was so welcoming, warm and always smiling. Their hospitality was one of the finest. We used to order food in room service and it was super delicious. Somedays I really miss this place. Whenever I visit again, without a second thought I will only stay here.

We stayed for 5 nights with our 2 little boys and it felt like home from the moment we arrived. Fresh coconut water upon arrival and they arranged a scooter for us within minutes. The villa itself was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Having a washing machine and small kitchen was a nice bonus. We enjoyed the swimming pool as well! Staff was very friendly and helpful, not only for us but also our kids. They loved playing games with our boys. Breakfast changed every day and was delicious! We highly recommend staying here when visiting Unawatuna

One recommendation for improvement is providing a water refill station to reduce plastic waste

Wasn't expecting much but this place was our favourite place to stay during our whole trip! The rooms were really spacious and very clean and comfortable. this was important to us as we were travelling with 2 small kids. The staff were amazing, I didn't catch their names but the girl doing front of house and the guy helping at breakfast were so friendly. They even helped out with our baby so I could eat breakfast in peace! The whole property is very chilled and relaxing but f you want more action it's just a short walk to the main road in Unawatuna, walkable or short tuk tuk to the beach. We would have extended our stay if we had more time. There were a few negative reviews about breakfast but they've clearly upped their game, lots on offer and very delicious! We loved the egg hoppers. Thank you
