Jungle village is situated in a very calm and quiet environment in Rumassala Sanctuary which is 15 mins drive from Galle Fort. The place consists of around 10 cabanas. Almost every cabana room has its own mini bar, safety locker, satellite TV, and balcony with an amazing forest view. If you are into nature this will be the best mind relaxing spot that you can find in this Urban Galle city. There is a common pool area and a Restaurant which is open from early morning until late night and the food will be served to your room. Staff was very friendly and helpful and available all the time. They were flexible with the check in check out times as well. Staff will be arranging tuk-tuks on behalf of us and also providing tips which will be helpful for Galle Exploring people. We had a lovely breakfast and a dinner which cost around $10 per meal per person and the food was delicious. There is a lovely beach with a small pub and sun bathing area. The beach was nearby within 5 mins walking distance which is called Jungle Beach. I can give a genuine 5 star rating for this place and this is going to be the best place for a Galle Explorer which loves for nature.

We stayed at Jungle Village, Unawatuna from April 12th to 14th as a family with two kids, and absolutely loved the experience! It’s a truly unique place nestled right next to the jungle, offering a peaceful and natural atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing. Each wooden house is designed with two separate units, one upstairs and one downstairs. We stayed in the upper unit and had a beautiful view overlooking the jungle. The kids had a great time exploring and especially enjoyed the swimming pool, which also includes a small, safe area for little ones (but it might’ve been cleaner more :/ Jungle Beach is just a short walk away, which made quick trips to the beach super easy. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay - special thanks to Mr. Hasinthu, who made us feel very welcome. There is an on-site restaurant where you can order food. While the menu prices are a bit on the higher side, the portion sizes are decent. That said, the taste and quality of the food could still be improved. There’s a buffet setup, but no food was available from the buffet during our stay. Room service available, we ordered breakfast which was around 3000 or so (2 x sets - see in the picture - not a bad combo) There’s also a liquor shop, but it didn’t quite meet our expectations or attractive to have few cocktails or so… so we’d recommend bringing your own preferred drinks or snacks if you’d like that so. Water pressure was so low but not to a major complaint, hope this could be fixed! Overall, this place is a gem if you’re looking to connect with nature and unwind. The tranquil setting, unique accommodations, and friendly staff make it a memorable spot. We definitely hope to return in the near future. Thank you again to all the wonderful hotel staff!

The peace that you get from that place is just magical. It’s located in such a way that even though you’re in a glass box, it’s so private. I couldn’t see into anyone else’s villa and nor could they to yours. The chirping birds, the bathroom with no ceiling, the wooden floors - oh it was a magical escape. Jungle beach which is literally a 4 minute walk is secluded and has many spots to have a ‘private’ beach day (the little hike down to it is also amazing) The receptionist Hasindu was a contributing factor. He makes you feel warm from the time you enter, he is knowledgeable and gives valuable information for your travels. He is so honest and true to his word. It’s hard to find such excellent customer service lately but he is one of a kind. If he can, he will. Since I was alone in the middle of the jungle, he made me feel safe and gave me a sense of belonging. I loved the welcome drink (SriLankan tea) I disliked the fact that every few mins there was a loud bang or a coconut or something falling on the roof but that’s Mother Nature and not the hotels fault. Since the bathroom is open aired, there were lots of frogs in my bathroom and every now and then I’d get a fright. There’s no robes or slippers (would’ve made the stay even more amazing) Morning light could be abit much as it’s right in your face and the building is glass. Mini bar is overpriced. Pool is average as compared to the pictures on the ad.

The room was good, clean, spacious, and the balcony overlooked the jungle which was beautiful and relaxing. We stayed there two days pre-dive trip, so our plan was to sit in the jungle and do nothing. This hotel delivered. We walked around, reached the Jungle Beach (A climb down about 300m away). We didn't interact much with the hotel and check-in & check-out were pretty straight forward. Didn't eat there, felt like the food was overpriced and the reviews did not help.

Airport transfer - I was delayed at immigration and the driver was nowhere to be found when I came out, we walked around for a good 10 minutes looking for my name. I called the hotel who said they'll get in touch with the driver, then the driver called and said he'll be there soon. He was not. I ended up calling an Uber which was 40$ cheaper. When I reached the hotel, reception insisted that the driver was waiting for me in the welcome area and perhaps I missed to see my name. At one point, a driver did come to ask me if the name he had was mine, I have a feeling the driver just had the wrong name. In any case, I recommend using Uber.

The hotel is wonderful, completely immersed in the jungle, you feel part of the environment and enveloped in wonder. The rooms are cozy, aesthetically beautiful and in keeping with the surroundings, and clean. I recommend bringing earplugs because obviously being surrounded by nature the rooms are very noisy. The wooden structures do not allow for soundproofing, so you can hear both the noises of nature and those of the rooms above or below. An eye mask is also a good idea so as not to be awakened at dawn by light.

The only sore point is the staff who need to improve from an organizational and customer management standpoint. However, they were all friendly and did their best to solve any problems that arose.

Good afternoon. Today is the 3rd day at this hotel, we work in the tourism sector ourselves, so in 10 days we decided to go around as many hotels in different locations of Unawatuna to know where we are sending tourists. Booked for 2 days, after the first day we immediately went for another 2 days extended. Such a combination of wild nature and a very comfortable room has never been seen anywhere. I don't want to leave the balcony at all, birds, chipmunks, saw porcupines and monitor lizards once, monkeys came running in the morning and that's all in 2 days. In previous reviews, we read about theft, I can't even imagine how this is possible, very responsible staff and cameras everywhere, so I can't even imagine how this is possible. Of course, ants appear in the bathroom and beetles can crawl into the room, but this is a jungle, you need to understand this, we have been to many places and it is very difficult to surprise us, but this hotel exceeded all expectations

This is the perfect place for a very calm and relaxing getaway. We stayed here for two nights and it was an extraordinary experience! The room was clean and beautiful - the balcony view was stunning! Staff and service was very attentive, helpful and welcoming. Most lovely people! The Sri Lankan breakfast was very delicious and we highly recommend having the vegetable rice and curry for dinner (make sure to pre-order). Lastly, monkeys stopping by on the balcony was a daily highlight. They can be cheeky, so make sure to not leave valuables on the balcony or the bathroom.

The room is great with views out over the trees from the balcony. Mix of air con and fan kept things comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent cat!

As part of the design the bathroom is open to the outside which means that you worry about having the light on at night. The hotel is in the middle of the jungle meaning that transport is a little difficult to arrange but this goes with the location and is not their fault. Might be a little more vegetarian choice on the menu of Sri Lankan style food.
