The hotel was 1 km from the airport so great for a late arrival or early start. The owners were really friendly. We arrived at 9pm and left at 3am for an early flight . We didn’t need anything flashy , just a shower and a bed. The owners kindly arranged an early taxi for us.

There was nothing I didn’t like. It was exactly what I expected for what I paid. If you’re using it for convenience rather than facilities then it is perfect

Very close to the airport, fantastic when we arrived in the early hours very tired. The staff here are really exceptional, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, even. Cold refreshing drink when we arrived at around 3.30am! The room is small but fine for the night and the bed is nice and comfortable with good clean bedding. Was a nice surprise to find a kettle etc for the morning. Be aware there's no lift but we were allowed to leave heavy cases downstairs. We will definitely use this place again if we return.

The only downside was the bedroom size but we only wanted to sleep and get going the next day. There was an unpleasant drain smell in the bathroom but this is not the hosts fault as the bathroom was lovely and clean. We loved spending a quiet night here.

This is a great value hotel just 1.5km from airport. Ideal for a late night arrival. They offered an airport pickup for $11 which I took although one could easily get a tuk tuk for 1000R. Very clean and bright double room with ceiling fan. Clean private bathroom. Kettle, cups and tea/coffee provided in room. Owner made me feel welcome. Good WiFi. Definitely would stay here again if I was arriving on a late flight

We had a short overlay while waiting for our early morning flight, and decided to stay in this lovely hotel rather than sitting in the airport. I read reviews on B.com and Google, and was hesitant first reading all the negatives - but I was pleasantly impressed by the hotel. They provided us with a spacious family room that had three cosy beds - 2 twins and 1 large bed, this was very convenient for our party of 2 adults and 2 kids. The shower had enough hot water, tea and kettle did their best to relax before the long flight. The staff very pleasant, helped to organise the transfer to airport at 12 PM, and to carry the luggage. They also treated the kids especially well.

It is really a bit noisy as the hotel is located on the road. I couldn’t sleep in my ear plugs - but my both kids and husband managed to do so. The AC has a strange ticking noise.

15 min walk from the airport along the main road. Great and personal service. What smiles they gave when they did their job. Breakfast was limited but great with eggs bread, butter and a large fruit platter.

Didn’t know that the airline approach was basically above the hotel so quite noisy every now and then when a flight approached. However, this was compensated by the great service

Amazing. Such kind owners. My daughter left her iPad at checkout, we only realised after a while we were at the airport. We contacted the hotel and Milady brought it to us, mind you it was early morning around 5 and she physically came to the airport, gave it to my hand with the kindest smile, told me to be careful and wished me a nice journey. <3 Definitely coming back here again. I reserved a room at this hotel for a client of mine who was transiting through Sri Lanka. Despite my client arriving in the country at 5 am, they kindly accepted. They extended the check-out time to 14:00, instead of noon! And with no additional fee! One of the hotel staff was exceptionally kind and shared her WhatsApp with me, and made sure we could constantly keep in touch to arrange the stay for my client. Thank you for your hospitality!

The location of the Otha Shy Airport Transit Hotel is very good. Close to the airport so optimal. We also got a shuttle which was very professionally operated (on time and easy to find). The staff was also friendly and provided us with nice beverages upon arrival.

Only accepts cash but that is not an issue as there are ATMs at the airport.

A great location so close to the airport. We landed at 10pm and were in our room before midnight and we were very grateful for the friendly staff who collected us from the airport and were ready for us to arrive.

The layout of the bathroom had the towel rack directly in front of the loo. Unfortunately this resulted in one of us leading forward and cutting their head open on the rail as they sat down. Not really the fault of the hotel, but an unfortunate start to our trip.

Very firendly staff, they will organise a shuttle for you from the airport (but more expensive), they got up early to cook my breakfast as I had an early departure which was very kind of them and was delicious. The room was clean and comfy, maybe a little more expensive compared to what you can get for your money now I have experienced travelling around Sri Lanka. But all in all a great stay, close and convenient to the airport, would recommend
