The best stay I’ve ever had in Sri Lanka! Asanka Surf House is more than just a place to stay—it’s a home away from home. The atmosphere is incredibly social, making it the perfect spot to meet like-minded travelers. Every evening feels like a gathering of friends, with communal dinners, great conversations, and a laid-back vibe. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help, and the surf lessons are top-notch. If you’re looking for a place with great energy, amazing people, and a true surf community feel, this is the place to be. I can’t wait to come back!

Great location for surfing in midigama. A stones throw from the beach. Has a pool which is a great place to cool down. Rooms were great, mosquito free and nets all around the beds. No aircon but the ceiling fan is enough to keep you cool during the night. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm and there was no one in there except for the last night.

Very close to the train line and trains start from about 6am.

Location is great, you can cross the train tracks and get to the beach. Staff is super friendly and very attentive. They let us get our coconut directly from the tree. The food is great and very cheap. You can also rent a motorbike for the standard price. They have an ice bath that can help you recover and organize yoga classes.

It's so close to the train tracks that the sound can wake you up. But if you wake up for early morning surf is not a big deal.

Nice pool, staff were super friendly. Some good bars and restaurants near the hotel. Room was really good for the price with fan and clean bathroom.

Good location, although the arial images make it look more remote than what it is. Could do with a fitted sheet on the bed and the pillows weren’t comfortable. Right on the trainline - We didn’t mind as much, although as the train goes by at 11pm and 5am it’s very loud.

The location is quite good (minus the train), staff, vibes and swimming pool are good too. Good value for money for private room with a pool near the beach.

The bed is quite uncomfortable, and the rooms need a renovation and a bit of paint. The bathroom window doesn't have a glass so there's quite a few bugs coming into the room.

Asanka and his family are super friendly! The private room was big and very comfortable. The location is great as there's a shortcut straight to the beach. It can get loud in the evening depending on how busy it is but I would definitely stay there again.

We loved the vibe... lovely pool. So close to the best waves in the area. Friendly owners. We will definitely stay there again in the future.

aksana is a cool dude his family lives there and he makes you feel like part of the family the location is great the whole place has a really pleasant, safe and welcoming vibe.

The room is clean as comfortable, really good pool. Sunset from the balcony is beautiful. The food is great. Also very close to all the surf breaks.

The property was located in a good location. Beach was nearby. And local transportation was also easily accessible. The property manager and workers were really nice and helpful !
