Travelling as a family with 3 kids (5 years, 3 years and 8 months) the hotel was lovely. The staff was very friendly, trying to help and giving us everything we needed. The hotel is just surround by nature. If you want to get to a supermarket or restaurant you need a tuktuk or taxi. The room was big enough and clean. Just the third night ants started to come in the room - so room service every second day would help. Breakfast and dinner were also good. More Sri Lankan taste would be great. Pools were clean and perfect to swim for the kids. All over good hotels to relax and discover Anuradhapura, if you have car or tuktuk Internet just at reception and restaurant, not in the rooms or pool

The staff was absolutely amazing. Alwas there to help. They even prepared us a breakfast-box before we left at 5am for a safari. Food was very good (we had dinner there twice). Nice pool where the locals are welcome to use too.

Our room had no window and was therefore very dark. In the pool area there are brocken parts which could be dangerous for kids. There was no room cleaning. Trash should not be kept in the room because of ants. Building works are going on at the moment. It is a nice basic lodge with amazing stuff and great food. But don‘t expect 4* stars as it is shown on Booking.

The pool is big and cool. The open, shady dining area is lovely during the day and fine in the evening too. The gardens are delightful and full of flowers. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The secluded location, between Mihintale and Anuradhapura, is very convenient. Mihintale is a relatively undiscovered gem. Our driver was happy with his accommodation. Good WiFi.

The lighting in the room could be better. Bedside lamps would add to the ambiance.

We loved everything about this place. We were greeted on arrival by the family and were able to check in early. They upgraded us to one of their brand new rooms which was an amazing raised cabin, it had stunning views over the pool and you could watch the sun set. They have a restaurant on site which was handy, breakfast was superb. The grounds and gardens are bueatiful and well kept. The pool is massive and kept very clean. Wish we could of stayed longer.

Nothing it was perfect.

The place is beautiful, in the middle of nature with many trees around and a lot of birds, this is very peace. The food is very good, you should try their kothu and rice curry, delicious! The staff was very helpful and attentive and we felt like home there! We originally booked a balcony room upstairs and they offered another room downstairs which was more convenient for us. I definitely recommand this place for few nights.

The equipment by the pool could be enhanced, like having mattress on deckchairs. In the bathroom, it would have been nice to have something to put our toiletries.

This is a perfect little hotel, with 14 rooms on the outskirts of town in a quiet location. It has a wonderful setting, with the pool as the main feature. We had a room beside the pool which is recommended (although there is no WiFi signal in the rooms.). The room was simply appointed but a good size as was the bathroom. The a/c and ceiling fan were very effective. We were welcomed with a glass of papaya juice, which is a nice touch. Dinner and breakfast are very good and excellent value. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The pool is a very good size, clean with some sunbeds available. Enjoyed our dip in there on a very hot afternoon. The staff kept the pool and grounds very clean and tidy. They have free driver accomodation which us a huge plus. We really enjoyed our stay and woukd happily return again.

The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The food that is served in the restaurant is delicious and the pool is beautiful and clean!

To be a bit more comfortable by the pool, it would be nice to have some cushions on the sun beds. Although the room was clean, the bathroom was a bit mouldy (probably had to do with the AC pipes that were leaking when the AC was on)

We had such a great time. The ambiance is so relaxing, the food is good (and very reasonable prices) and the staff is really kind and helpful. The garden is wonderful as well. We visited the Mihintale site early morning and it was so beautiful and Black and White Hotel arranged our tuk tuk. The hotel also arranged our taxi to Kalpitiya, our next destination. Last but not least: the pool was also nice, but the beds were not so comfy.

Black and white themed guest house/hotel. Nice well kept tropical garden setting with a nice swimming pool and infant pool. Polite and helpful staff and owner family. Well located for visits to Mihintale Temple. Food and drink available on site. Other bars and restaurants are a short tuk tuk ride.

Cleaning of the large fish tank (hoses running through the restaurant and unwelcome smells) when evening meals were being served could have been done earlier in the day but it was an exceptional oversight.

Huge bedrooms and bathrooms both well appointed. Wet clean with good a\c Restaurant and bar area were spacious, clean and cool. Food was exceptional but drinks were limited ( eg beer but no cocktails or wine, coke but no Coke Zero) No time to use the pol but it was large and clean. Absolutely would return and recommend
