Everything was amazing! The place is marvellous, the swimming pool is stunning. Everyone is suuuuper nice!! All the members of the staff are super hard-working, attentive and kind. The location is perfect! Super close the the old town of Polonnaruwa but on a very calm place. We stayed for two nights and it was wonderful! The breakfast is delicious, a great variety of food and a very nice service. We also had dinner and everything was super tasty! We try the curd and honey in other places, but here was the best one! The guy of the reception even gave us the chance to choose our own room. We booked a room without air conditioner but at the end we had to use it, it was fair price and we slept like babys. The bed was super comfortable and the shower had hot water! He also arranged for us the safari. We went to Kaudulla's National Park. It was amazing! We saw like 50-60 elephants. Such a beauty!! If we had the chance to go again, we will choose this over and over again!! ස්තුතියි

Nothing. Everything was perfect!

The staff were so, so welcoming, friendly, kind and helpful and made us feel right at home. Nothing was too much trouble. The pool and gardens were the best we enjoyed in Sri Lanka. The food was great - we had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel and it was all delicious. The location was so peaceful and the resort had such a chilled and relaxing vibe, it was wonderful (apart from when some mongooses got into the roof space and made a racket in the middle of the night!) The hotel arranged a fabulous elephant safari for us at very short notice (the night before), which was one of our Sri Lanka highlights.

It was a little out of town and there weren't many shops/restaurants nearby but that's what made it peaceful. It wasn't easy to get a tuk tuk on Pickme from the hotel, but it was fine to get one back from town. Local bus was easy to catch from the main road though. Shower water pressure wasn't brilliant, minor point.

Great place- gorgeous garden and lovely big pool with lots of places to sit and relax. Comfortable and clean rooms with good air conditioning. About 4km from ancient city and right next to amazing curry place (Jaga food). Good value and tasty breakfast buffet. Really friendly and attentive staff. My partner got an infection in his foot and we were swiftly driven to a nearby pharmacy to get some antibiotics. Staff really went out of their way to help out.

Only minor thing I would change would be breakfast timings. Only 7:30-9 and with the very hot days we would have been keen for an earlier breakfast to get out to the ancient city for opening time.

The host running this accomodation is amazing and really helpful to give tips for the city and arranging any extra needs! Thankfully also not in any way pushy, just happy to help. The room was nice and clean and the pool was a nice addition in the heat and as a change from walking through tempels. The food is also quite good and the location is nice and quiet in the rice fields.

If at all I would say the location is not the best as it is a bit outside of town, but realistically its only a five minute tuktuk drive away (arranged by the hosts ofc) and therefore gives you a quiet nights sleep.

Very good budget accommodation, the pool was amazing to cool off in during and after the very hot days! Rooms & bathrooms are very clean. Lots of nice spots to relax around the pool & garden, we loved the hammocks. There are many cool creatures around the resort including squirrels, peacocks, eagles & butterflies. Breakfast buffet was great and filling, with many options. We also ate at the resort every night & recommend the vegetable curry! You can also meet other guests at meal times. Owners & staff were very helpful, especially Thanu & his mother who went out of their way to help me with keeping my medication cold in their fridge & while travelling (thank you so much!!) If any insects in your room, the staff can also help you to get it out if it bothers you (I am scared of geckos so the staff helped to remove one for me). Staff also helped us with local transport & recommended good local restaurants. Ask them if you need to arrange any transport or tours :)

We loved this accommodation. A family run hotel, well cared for, very restful, comfortable and felt at home rather than a guest as we stayed several nights. The swimming pool was a great addition, clean, a good size and loungers and umbrellas for shade. The restaurant provided a buffet breakfast, simple snacks (and wonderful fresh fruit juices) and an evening meal. Ask for the curry which they do some evenings. A great introduction to all the different meat/vegetable dishes that accompany the rice. Plentiful portions. Very helpful for visits to the National Park and Polonnaruwa.

I liked everything in this property, and it is exceptional value for money. Polonnaruwa is a busy place, but the property is about 200 m down a side street, and you hear no noise. You are surrounded by fields, in a green environment. There is a big swimming pool, and the garden is absolutely stunning. Hammocks and little stone tables and chairs and other seating areas all around. A labour of love. When you go to breakfast, in the early morning, you see an employee cleaning the pool. I strongly recommend booking the deluxe room, which is in a bungalow with own terrace and has direct pool view. The room is spacious and clean, and the air condition is efficient and silent, though it may take an hour to cool the room when the temperature outside is 33 degrees. Tishan is owned and run by a very kind couple and their son, all speaking English. I had rice and fish/vegetable curry twice, and the meals, coming on at least a dozen little plates, is superb. Strongly recommended. For 500 SLK rupied you are taken by tuk-tuk to the excavation side, and you should take, for the same price, a bicycle to reach all the temples; some of the best are 5km from the entrance. Great to return to Tishan and enjoy a cool beer near the pool. For 9,000 SLK rupies, the owners even drove me in their ac car to Sigiriya.

There is nothing I did not like. If I had to make one suggestion: a shower gel dispenser in the bathroom would be good.

the family is very friendly, the son speaks excellent English.the garden is lovely and the swimming pool clean. de room is very sober and not fashionable but large and clean. for the price i payed, you can't get better. the cook was on (singal new years) holiday but they still manage to get really good food on the table, an accomplishment! breakfast was extensive and included. they arranged affordable and safe transport to Kandy for the two of us. in april is was hot, didnt plan to use the airco, but i did (which i normally dont do).

as everywhere in the world: more hooks at the walls to hang your stuff.

Clean and spacious basic rooms with undercover outside seating area. English language TV with a good range of international channels. Good buffet breakfast with a range of European and Sri Lankan foods. Great large, clean pool with helpful and friendly staff. The laundry services was inexpensive and quick.

Just a suggestion a buffet dinner would improve the dinner service. We arrived on the first night around 730pm and we hadn’t preordered, dinner was no longer available. The next night we ordered a Sri Lankan curry (very good) as did other guests it arrived on time. However other guests waited nearly two hours for their food.

The outdoor area is really beautiful. We needed a day to relax and recharge. That was the perfect place. Everybody is really friendly. You can have lunch brought out to the pool and can overlook rice fields. Really peaceful. I also highly recommend going to the next door restaurant Jaga where you can get an amazing all-you-can-eat-lunch or dinner with the local food. Exquisite!

The rooms were outdated in style, but we had seen that already in the reviews and really spend almost all time at the pool, so it wasn’t too bad.
