This was a very beautiful place . Great view and the elephants come right up to the fence. The rooms were clean. The people were very friendly. One of our children got sick and they let us check in early. They gave us free transport to the train station.

One of the staff I think thought our children were trying to steal food from the buffet and was very pushy about paying right now. He wanted me to run up to my room right now to get money even though they were going to put it on my room. But he was the only staff member that was like that. They do turn the WiFi off at a certain time . I went downstairs at midnight and the guy told me it’s off till morning. Than I had to get another password for it to work.

The location for seeing the elephants in the river is great. It is near to elephant orphanage too. The hotel is now little bit old it must have been famous once.

Be carefull of the group of scamers who wait at the beginning of driveway to the hotel. They will try to persuade you to see other elephants than those in the orphanage or use only their taxi. We do not recommend it they are expensive and they lie.

My room had a river view which meant I could watch the river’s wildlife from my balcony.

I was told there was an “Elephant Orphanage” close to the hotel, which I assumed to be some sort of conservation project. It was actually a circus show for tourists. Elephants were brought to the river twice a day at set times. The wardens encouraged you to come down closer to the elephants to perhaps stroke them. The wardens then tried to elicit money from you. I found it quite sad and distasteful frankly.

We stayed at Hotel Elephant Bay for one night as a family of four, and it was a truly unforgettable experience! The hotel is located in a special zone, and one of the perks is that check-in after 4 PM waives the cost of the entrance ticket, which was a nice surprise. The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect. From the property, we could watch elephants bathing in the river from 10 AM to 12 PM—a magical and serene sight that delighted both kids and adults alike. It felt like a privilege to be so close to these majestic animals in their natural environment. The staff were friendly and accommodating, ensuring our short stay was comfortable. The rooms were clean and spacious, with a balcony that offered a stunning view of the river. We enjoyed sitting there and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. Overall, if you’re looking for a unique hotel experience that combines comfort with a chance to observe elephants up close, Hotel Elephant Bay is a fantastic choice. We only stayed for one night, but it left a lasting impression on us. Highly recommended for families and nature lovers!

We stayed 2 nights in a superior triple room with a river view. The room was very spacious and the bed comfy. The view from the balcony is spectacular, especially in the morning when the elephants come by. The breakfast was good, there was a buffet on our first morning and omelette cooked to order on our second. The staff were in training but were kind and polite. The highlight is the morning elephant visit where you can get very close.

The hotel appeared to be undergoing some renovations but it didn't really affect our stay. The TV in the room worked but didn't get many channels. We used the WiFi on our own devices. Worth noting that if you arrive between 9am and 4pm you must pay the entry fee to the elephant orphanage on top of your hotel bill. This is because when staying at the hotel you can see the elephants every morning without leaving the hotel. You can also get entry to the orphanage if you show the proof of payment. Some guests seemed unaware of this. Overall we were very happy with our stay here and thought it was good values

The views are just breathtaking. It’s the first thing you see when you enter. The rooms were comfortable with a balcony. The buffets at the hotel is lovely and affordable. The view from the pool and the river banks having the elephants just interact with the guests is also nice. There’s balconies on every floor is lovely if you don’t have a river facing room and there’s common areas. The housekeeping staff are such friendly boys and helpful. Also the guy at the restaurant was kind.

The reception staff guys were really unaware of how to properly welcome guests. They don’t give you a full breakdown of your stay. They say there is a spa but there isn’t - it’s next to the building and was closed. There’s lots of spider webs under the tables at the eating area so becareful with kids.

I had a wonderful experience staying at this beautiful hotel. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, providing a very comfortable stay. The food was absolutely delicious – every meal felt like a treat! What really made the stay special was the amazing staff. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, especially the reception team – they were incredibly helpful and made sure all our needs were met with a smile. One of the most memorable parts of the stay was being able to see elephants near the property – such a unique and magical experience! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway with great service, tasty food, and a touch of nature.

The view is as spectacular as it gets and I doubt there are many places outside of Africa you can watch elephants in the river from your room or the hotel pool. Twice a day the elephants come down and some of the females and calves are allowed freedom to explore the bank on the other side. It is great value for money and all the photos of the elephants next to the pool are true.

The food was ok and took a while to come however it did taste nice. Some of the building is being renovated but it was mostly clean and the view over the river is stunning

Amazing views if the elephants bathing in the river. Also lucky enough to have balcony view aswell. Enjoyed the swimming over looking the river. Peanut butter milkshake was delicious.

We were unaware that if you arrive before 4pm check in time you had to pay to get down the street to access the hotel as was near where elephants walked down to the river. We only wanted to drop bags off and stay in the hotel but had to pay to do this which cost around £9 Once checked in the next day you don't have to pay to go down the street they stated just to show hotel room key.

The hotel has great location overlooking the river with no need to pay the fee to see the elephant’s bathing. The room was spacious (we had a quad room) with a fridge and tea/coffee facilities which we appreciated a lot. Every day we got a free bottle of water and tea/coffee bags. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Water in the swimming pool was clean. We enjoyed our stay and we would come back again.

The building is little bit run down and needs renovations in some parts, especially river facing areas.
