Great views, nice bar and restaurant, spacious room and most staff were incredibly friendly.

Some signs of wear and tear and you can tell the hotel has been around for a long time despite some recent renovations. There was a particular member of staff that became rather unpleasant and at times on the verge of aggressiveness when we kept politely declining their new 'romantic dinner' experience, which he brought up every breakfast and dinner during our 4-night stay at the hotel. It was a shame this one individual tainted the otherwise flawless experience provided by the rest of the staff.

Very confortable , staff very kind always at your dispositions ,beautiful view on the lion rock that value the price.Nothing to say ! I strongly recommend it!

don’t do the village sigiriya safari that the hotel propose! They are mis organized and we lost our way during the activity…in the middle of the jungle…kind of scary.Anyway , I don’t recommend it and also if you order an a la carte plate ,it takes 1hours to arrive.

Excellent stay. Excellent breakfast, lots of choice of pastries and hot food. A good variety for lunch including burgers and club sandwiches. A selection of drinks - cocktails and beer. Excellent location to see lions rock (although it is advised not to go out the property about 6:30pm due to wild elephants). Staff were incredibly friendly and would go above and beyond for you. Dinner was a buffet with lots of traditional food as well as bread, fruit, pasta dishes, popadoms and a good variety of desserts.

The rooms could be better maintained - door and walls to be painted in the bathroom and floor to be washed daily.

The location was perfect, just a short drive from the Lion Rock. The garden surrounding the pool is green and beautiful, and you can see the rock from the pool and the pool bar. They prepared non-spicy dinner for me when I i told them I was allergic to spices. Staff was very helpful and welcoming.and generally , service was good.

The cottage room is quite old and definitely needs some renovation even though it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was quite basic, with just a few choices for guests who can't eat spicy food. Flies were everywhere; you'd better eat your food as soon as possible; if you leave your food on the table, be sure flies will sit on your plate. I understand that the breakfast facility is outside, but there should be a way to do something about it. Overall, i don't think it deserves 5 stars. 4 stars is a maximum for such a hotel.

1. Check-in took very long. Not sure what was the issue - as we were the only guests at that time. 2. Breakfast service was poor - with dishes and food items very delayed & long wait times. 3. Absolutely terrible & unacceptable - a foreign guest took over the live (egg dishes) counter and used his dirty fingers in the ingredients! Duty Manager missing - the polite staff didn't know how to handle this rude, idiotic & ignorant foreigner! 4. Complete absence of top management - no where to be seen! Guests smoking and walking around in common areas. 5. Significant improvements required - if only top management would walk the floors, observe and take notes!

We had a lovely 2 night stay. The kids loved the pool and it had a gorgeous view of Sigiriya. Rooms were spacious and beds were super comfy. There was a saxophonist one night and live music on the 2nd. A super location to visit Sigiriya and surrounding areas. The hotel looks lovely and festive with the lights. Plentiful breakfast with western and Sri Lankan choices. Thilini was an excellent GM and did everything possible to check that our stay was going well.

We had the dinner buffet on the first night but did not think it was great value for money. The breakfast hoppers and some other dishes could do with more salt and other seasonings. Other than that not much negative to say.

The pool, view and room was very nice! It was very calm and loved being within the nature with all the monkeys etc right within all the trees and garden. The staff were very nice and friendly.

We did find it quite frustrating when asking reception about late check-out, we were told she was going to check and get back to us, but nothing happened so we went to reception again, same thing happened, it wasn’t until the 4th time we went back to reception speaking to a 4th person we were then given options of late-check out. We had two other questions during our stay and we realised that we were just being told yes etc but later that the staff weren’t understanding our questions, and had told us the wrong info. I think the English might need improving. Very friendly and smiley staff, but by just saying yes to everything we ask doesn’t help things.

The pool was absolutely stunning and kept in pristine condition by the hardworking pool staff. It was a pleasure to swim and relax in such a well-maintained environment. As for the views, they were simply breathtaking and unparalleled. Whether I was in my room or exploring the property, I couldn't help but be in awe of the incredible vistas. And let's not forget about the breakfast – it was truly mouthwatering! The variety and quality of the food were outstanding, and it was the perfect way to start the day.

While the complimentary cocktails were a thoughtful gesture, it would have been appreciated if the staff had inquired about our preferences beforehand, as we don't consume alcohol. Perhaps offering a choice between alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages would be a considerate way to accommodate guests with different lifestyles. This minor suggestion aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were impressed by the overall attentiveness and hospitality of the staff.

The view from the pool is fantastic and the location is convenient for sightseeing in the area. The open plan lounge area is lovely and the rooms and the pool area are well maintained, clean and comfortable.

We found the staff somewhat intrusive. We often felt pestered - to the point where someone actually knocked on my bedroom door to try to get me to book for their evening meal deal. Relaxing by the pool, we were repeatedly interrupted by staff trying to sell us spa treatments or food deals. Sometimes the staff were simply rude/dismissive: when we once tried to order some food in the lounge we were told simply to go and get it ourselves from the restaurant (which was not necessary - another member of staff did eventually take our order and deliver our snacks). There wasn't an issue with ALL staff, but there was a pushy vibe to the place and it definitely made the otherwise lovely hotel less relaxing.

Really lovely staff and a good selection of food for the breakfast and dinner buffet! Loved that the hotel offered the quad biking experience and live music in the evenings as this added a special touch. Special thanks to Ajith for his advice on the surrounding area and attractions, this was very helpful as it was our first time in Sigiriya. Will definitely be coming back to stay here, the room was modern and clean and a very peaceful environment as well as the unforgettable view from the pool!

Would have been useful to have a fan in the bathroom as the room steamed up quickly once someone had a shower.
