The restaurant and bar area is gorgeous. We got to feed the ducks in the pond. The bed was comfortable.

The room decor needs to be updated. The orange colour is ugly. Maybe change it to a green or blue colour it would be more fitting. The pool needs renovating.

We stayed at Sigiriya Village Hotel for two nights and found it to be a great base for climbing Sigiriya Rock, which we did at sunrise—highly recommended! We booked two rooms (one double and one twin), both of which were clean and comfortable, with spacious bathrooms. One of the rooms did have a slight damp smell, but overall the accommodation was pleasant. The main building with the bar and restaurant was very nice, and breakfast was buffet-style with plenty of choice, all well prepared. We didn’t dine at the restaurant in the evening as we wanted to try some of the local eateries within walking distance, but we did enjoy light bites by the pool for lunch, which were very good. The pool was lovely, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A nice bonus was the free head massage included with each room, which was very relaxing. The only downside was that the outdoor areas felt a little tired and could benefit from some refurbishment. That said, the peaceful setting and proximity to Sigiriya Rock made it a great choice for our visit.

Staff could not have done more to help us. Very kind welcome. Also spent time speaking with us and checked that everything was ok regularly. First night in Sri Lanka and we ate at the dinner buffet which was amazing. Pool has incredible view of Lions Rock. Rooms are all individual cabins which are quiet and cool. Amazing wildlife to be seen like Peacocks roaming the grounds. Grounds staff work hard to maintain property. Short walk to Sigiriya village (only a few minutes). Only approximately 40 minutes to Lions Rock but can get tuktuks from local drivers only 5 minutes from property.

Location was very convenient to visit the rock. Hotel landscape is beautiful.

Room was a bit outdated. Dinner was a bit expensive , cost-benefit, compared to surrounding and other places we visited.

After a disappointing experience elsewhere, finding Village Sigiriya felt like discovering paradise! The hotel is surrounded by a stunning, lush green area that immediately puts you at ease. The pool is perfect for relaxing, and the live music every evening adds such a magical touch to the atmosphere. The Ayurvedic center is a wonderful bonus for anyone looking to unwind even further. The staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. My room was huge, beautifully designed, and had a lovely private yard in front—such a peaceful spot to enjoy the surroundings. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend Village Sigiriya for anyone visiting this area!

We had the best stay at Siguriya Village. The rooms are really spacious, clean, and private, and the pool/dining space has an incredible view of Siguriya Rock. The staff are so accomodating & friendly, allowing us to easily extend our stay. They helped us to arrange transport around Siguriya & the neighbouring ancient cities, and are very attentive from luggage transport to pool upkeep & service. We stayed for three nights but wish we could have stayed longer! The food was also amazing - the buffet offers some of the best Sri Lankan food we’ve had while travelling. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a nice place to relax, while being closely situated to some of the most incredible views & experiences Sri Lanka has to offer.

Couldn’t fault it! The hotel & surrounds were picturesque and the style of the hotel feels very in keeping with the area & Sri Lanka more broadly.

Recently stayed for one night at this stunning resort and it was an unforgettable experience. The location was perfect, offering a quiet and peaceful retreat nestled in the forest, allowing for complete immersion in nature. The resort itself was vast and beautifully maintained, with a wonderful pool that seemed straight out of a movie, offering a breathtaking view of Lion's Rock. It was a surreal experience to relax by the pool with such a magnificent backdrop. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we've ever had, showcasing a wide array of Sri Lankan goodies. It was a delightful culinary journey that perfectly complemented the serene and picturesque setting.

We loved our stay at Sigiriya Village. The cottages were spread out in green gardens that gave a wonderful sense of space from everyone. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. When we did go to breakfast, swimming or dinner the experience was excellent. I’m vegan and the staff were helpful in assisting me with what I could have, which was plenty. We all enjoyed the food. The cocktails were great. The pool and the view from the pool were a lovely part of the holiday. We stayed 3 nights and did Sigiriya (a short drive to the entrance), Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa (about 1-1.5hrs away each) from here.

The rooms were basic but had Everything we needed. We got welcomed with drinks and towels. The staff was soo nice, helpful and attentive. Pool area was as nice, bar too. In the evening there was live music, really nice! Greenery around the hotel was soo nice there were even monkeys. Breakfast was amazing! Buffet was nice and good mix from western and Sri Lanka food!

There is not much around the hotel. If you just want to visit lions rock or the other one it’s perfect, we even did dambulla Cave Tempels (one way 40 mins) but if that’s all you wanna do it’s perfect!

The moment I exited our cab, I was mesmerized by the sounds of nature and the beauty I was surrounded by. The pool is right before the proposed 8th world wonder, Sigiriya Rock, and has an unobstructed view, as if it’s in its backyard. This property is truly magical. The F&B Manager went above and beyond to accommodate my strict dietary needs, and I am forever grateful for Mr. Nelum Bandara Illankoon for his unparalelled hospitality. Thank you endlessly! Looking forward to next time.
