We really enjoyed staying at Il Frangipane, the staff was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. They were very helpful in arranging our excursions such as a day trip to Pollonaruwa, a tuktuk ride to Pidurangula and transport to Kandy with a stop at the Dambulla cave temples. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of fresh fruits, coconut roti or pancakes and paratas, eggs with toast, cakes, and fresh fruit juice. Our kids really had a lot of fun in the beautiful garden and swimming pool. Thank you for helping us to make our stay at Sigiriya memorable!

We liked everything, but if we have to mention 1 thing: the deck chairs at the swimming pool could use a little upgrade.

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Sigiriya Il Frangipane is a truly beautiful hotel — an oasis of peace right in the center of Sigiriya. Despite its central location, the atmosphere is incredibly calm and relaxing. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. One of the highlights is the lovely swimming pool, perfect for cooling off after a day of exploring. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with great tips on what to do in the area and where to eat. Their warm hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend Il Frangipane to anyone visiting Sigiriya. It’s a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and tranquility.

One of my favourite places on our journey through Sri Lanka so far. Ideal location for seeing the main sights of Sigiriya and if you're travelling through on public buses, it couldn't be any easier to get to. Arrived to a fresh watermelon juice and a spacious room with a balcony, the pool was perfect for taking the edge off the heat and the surrounding gardens are a real little oasis. Friendly and polite staff who are always available should you need anything. Delicious and generous breakfast with daily variations.

Considering that this is a destination for early morning excursions, I was surprised to find breakfast was served between 7.30 - 9.30am. This didn't bother us at all but just an observation.

The property is in a great location, walking distance from Sigiriya Rock with lots of shops and restaurants along the road. The place itself is lovely, tucked off a side street with a beautiful garden around a pool. Room was clean and comfortable and felt really cosy tucked at the back of the garden. The staff were great, super friendly and helpful; they even organised our onward transport to Trincomalee at a reasonable price. Breakfast was lovely too - lots of fresh fruit, toast, roti… I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this place and it’s definitely somewhere we’d stay again.

Only thing I’d say is it’d be the icing on the cake to have proper filter coffee with breakfast

We had a fabulous stay at Il Frangipane. Beautiful large room, spotlessly clean and well appointed. Comfortable beds. Shower was powerful and hot. Breakfast was beautiful, fresh fruit, homemade bakery items, eggs, toast, freshly made fruit smoothies. All really EXCELLENT. The 3 guys that take care of you are so great - genuine, warm and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They were always available if needed. They made us feel so welcome. One of the guys even repaired a pair of sunglasses for us that we broke, well above and beyond. Owner was very welcoming and friendly. He arranged the hotel car to transport us from Sigiriya to Bentota (approx 5 hour drive) with no problem and gave us a fantastic price. Car was comfortable with a safe and friendly driver who took care of us. The team happily helped us arrange TukTuks for our days out. These were reliable and well priced. The pool area and gardens were just fabulous. A proper Oasis! Il Frangipane is a quality, professionally run accommodation which we loved, would highly recommend and hope to return next year. Everything was perfect!

We booked Il Frangipane through booking.com for three nights as part of a bigger trip of Sri Lanka. Our room was delightful, we were ground floor looked onto the garden, pool and restaurant area. We are a family of four and had two large double beds - the room was incredibly clean. We booked half board and both the breakfast and the dinner served each day were plentiful and delicious. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The staff work hard, nothing is too much trouble, they are all really friendly and helped arrange our days transport when needed. You are a three minute tuk drive to Lions Rock which proved handy for our sunrise walk up. Raveen the owner also organised our collection from the airport and transfer to the next location, he was easy to communicate with and came back quickly with my (many) questions. We would definitely stay here again!

A very pleasant place with truly excellent staff. Breakfast was absolutely perfect – the best we had anywhere in Sri Lanka. The team work hard and the guys also have a great sense of humour. Be sure to try the nearby restaurants; they were all excellent, and our favourite was the small shelter right in front of the guesthouse. We booked three rooms for six people and stayed three nights, which turned out to be the ideal amount of time to explore the area, as the accommodation is in a great location. We would not hesitate to recommend booking this place.

Il Frangipane is the perfect place to stay in Sigiriya! The rooms are spacious, super comfortable with a fantastic shower/bathroom. Location wise it is perfect. An easy stroll to Lion Rock and literally a couple mins in tuktuk should you not want to walk. Also A couple mins stroll to amazing restaurants and bars (make sure to eat at Kenoli!)… the breakfast at il Frangipane is generous and delicious. The staff are wonderful and helped us organise TukTuks whenever we needed it. Also a huge thank you to Raveen for the fantastic communication and for organising us such professional, safe and excellently priced drivers (for our treks between cities). The pool at the hotel is amazing and so beautiful after a days hiking. (One note tho, the pool is amazing however there are some chipped tiles so be careful as I cut my leg, not a major issue but something to be aware of). I would 100% recommend Raveen and Il Frangipane to anyone staying in Sigiriya. A beautiful little oasis to call home for a few days!! 10/10

Beautiful location with a lot of green. It feels like being on your own serene island whilst being in the middle of lively streets. The food is amazing and don’t skip breakfast. You’ll love it. The room was beautiful, big and luxurious with the best shower. When jumping into the pool they already have a towel for you on a daybed. Also all the staff deserve a round of applause. They made our stay wonderful. Arranged a tour for us, even taking into account the driver that gave us a free ‘private safari’ at te tour grounds. They helped us with making arrangements with our next hotel reservation, as we decided to stay an extra night at Il Frangipane. They made some calls for us with regards to our Tuktuk (rental) trouble en helped as translators while a local mechanic came by. Best stay in Sri Lanka. You get even more than you’ve paid for.

Our stay at Il Frangipane was excellent The pool is wonderful and exactly the right temperature (not too hot) because it gets shade part of the day The tropical gardens are lovely and immaculate The staff could not be more polite or helpful The room size is good The bed is comfortable The shower is good The location is awesome- close to the main road with cafes, restaurants etc but set back and quiet, close to Pidurangala and Sigiriya rocks

Everything at Il Frangipane was amazing….the only thing that I did not like about my stay in Sigiriya (and this has NOTHING to do with Il Frangipane) is the presence of a clearly distressed, chained elephant on the main street. Upsetting even to recall it.
