Everything was excellent! The room was very clean and comfortable. Great value for money. Madu is a great host, he was super friendly and helpful. It was our first Sri Lankan breakfast on our trip and it did not disappoint! The dinner was also delicious. The location is perfect, it is just a 15 minute walk to Lion Rock. We would definitely recommend this place. Thank you Madu!

Serenity. Spacious clean rooms. Very obliging family and staff Good food.. value for money. Learning how to cook and prepare some of our favourite Sri lankan dishes with the family.

Would suggest a clothes rail be in the room as there is no where to hang clothes especially when they are wet from the rain.

From the moment we arrived at this charming family-run hotel in Sigiriya, we knew our experience would be special. Nestled just a stone's throw away from the majestic Lion's Rock, the location couldn't have been more perfect. The family that runs the hotel welcomed us with open arms, creating an atmosphere that was both warm and inviting. It felt less like a hotel and more like a home away from home. Their attention to detail and eagerness to ensure our comfort was truly commendable. The room was a delightful surprise – spotlessly clean ("super sauber" as they say in German) and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, blending modern comforts with a rustic charm that resonated with the jungle surroundings. Breakfast each morning was a highlight. Not only was the spread delicious and hearty, but the family also went out of their way to fulfill any custom requests we had. The flavors were a delightful mix of local cuisine and familiar favorites, all made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The premises itself was a slice of paradise. We felt immersed in the jungle, with the lush greenery and the tranquil sounds of nature enveloping us. It was the perfect backdrop for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway. Our host deserves a special mention for their outstanding hospitality. They were always available to help with anything we needed, from local recommendations to just a friendly chat. Thank you!

This is a place of peace and quiet in the middle of lush gardens. Very conveniently located as you can actually walk to the Lion’s Rock park entrance. Madura and his wife are both delightful and wonderful hosts. They picked us up at the airport at 4 a.m. at a reasonable price! They also suggested and organized our activities as well as our transfer to Kandy and all turned out beautifully. The room has a comfortable and big bed, good Moskito net, working A/C and a patio with chairs in the front. Nice breakfast. We would definitely recommend staying there. Please also try out the restaurant next door. It’s new, has good food, cozy seating and done with love.

Nothing to dislike! The little froggies that loved to crawl out of the overflow hole in the bathroom sink were kept at bay by closing the hole with a tissue. All good!

The location is beautiful - seven bungalows with verandas, set in lovely lush gardens within walking distance of Lion Rock. There is a little dining area, which is a great place to meet other travellers and chat with the very friendly and welcoming family and the amazing shamila, who can’t help you enough and speaks really good English. The half day elephant safari he organised was amazing! The bungalows are very basic - double bed with mosquito nets and an en-suite but nowhere to hang anything, or tea/ coffee in the rooms. However the rooms are very clean and the setting and friendliness of the place more than makes up for this.

The rooms could have done with a shelf or some hooks to put clothes on.

Madu and his wife are extremely caring hosts. They are one of the kindest people I have met travelling around the world for so long. The cottages are set in a beautiful garden full of trees and in complete nature. The breakfast is big, very tasty, fresh and authentic sri lankan. Real home cooking. The room is very clean with comfy beds, very strong air con, mosquito nets, a nice toilet and a nice relaxing verandah outside. Price wise is very good quality and not very high in price. Madu is always available to drop you in town whenever you need(700-800 LKR per way) and organized us a very nice elephant safari nearby. We literally saw hundreds of elephants. He also organized other transfers we asked help with. He is always kind and available but never pushy and extremely polite. Madu and his wife are very good cooks and his wife cooked very spicy food for me upon request and it was very delicious too. Their restaurant is worth trying. The place is very clean and well taken care by all his family including his father who is a very nice guy too. This place is very relaxing. 100% recommended

Everything was good

Madura and his family made our stay extra special and we had the best time. The rooms are spacious and clean with comfortable beds and clean bathroom. The gardens and landscaping add to the character the of place and are inviting and well kept. We had breakfast included in our stay and it was really delicious with variety and good amount of food with traditional hoppers, roti and curries and fruit. We also had a traditional dinner that the family prepared and it was very special and delicious. Madura also organised our national park visit and transfers to our next destination. He gave us suggestions for things to do and organised transport which made our short visit really easy to plan and enjoy. The location is a short rickshaw ride from main attractions and the town with other cafes and restaurants. I would highly recommend!

Nothing, everything was great.

The property is very near to Lion Rock. It is truly a Nature Villa, worth its name. We booked 6 rooms there with 11 occupants with varying demands. But, young Madura and his cute wife Sarah( if I am not wrong) smilingly and relentlessly met each and every request. Food, breakfast was awesome. Rooms are spacious and sparkingly clean, bathrooms are quite good too. Sitting arrangement in front of the rooms of the cottages amidst flood of greens was extremely enjoyed by all of us. Definitely recommendable and revisitable

Only, I would request them to increase the lighting in the rooms, those were somewhat poorly lit.

Having decided to cut our stay in Kandy short and head to Sigiriya at short notice - we wanted to find a nice spot close to Lion’s Rock. Scouring Booking.com this little gem popped up with great reviews. Nestled in a peaceful little spot with all you could want for a natural little hideaway. We arrived quite a while before check in time but instead of turning us away and because the rooms had been vacated the previous day they went out of their way to complete the final touches to the rooms we had booked as quickly as possible so we could get settled in. They also helped us arrange to go on the elephant safari later that day which turned out to be incredible and one of the best things we done whilst travelling around Sri Lanka. The place is family run and everyone we encountered could not have been lovelier, more attentive or more helpful they were so incredibly nice, it made us sad we were only able to stay one night there. Dinner was tasty and freshly prepared and breakfast was just amazing. We were travelling with our Sri Lankan friends and their 9 month old daughter and they even made extra efforts to make food suitable for her ❤️. Big thumbs up from us and we are already planning to go back and stay there next time we visit our Sri Lankan friends in 2027. ☺️☺️

Nothing at all to dislike it is a lovely welcoming beautiful place to stay - just a word of warning mosquitoes are rife given the location being so close to the jungle road so be prepared - But this is nothing to do with the property and they take many preventative measures around the place to combat the 🦟 pests!!

Madura and his wife are wonderful hosts. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. The food is delicious. Madura took us by tuk-tuk to a local lake and also to Pidurangala Rock. After sunset, he drove us back safely. He even arranged a safari for us on very short notice—late in the evening, yet he managed to organize it for the following morning. His wife packed breakfast for our safari. Such kind and welcoming people! Wishing you and your family all the best, Madura!
