What an incredibly beautiful place. The swimming pool is really nice with the surrounding garden and view at the hotel. The owner is very nice and helpful. Suggestion: there is a nice wood carving workshop across the road

Like other reviews mentioned: indeed some issues with electricity blackouts and some sharp tiles at the bottom of the pool. Nothing too dramatic, but just be a little mindful. Also some things went wrong with the breakfast and there's not always someone available at the reception. But as also mentioned to the owner: If these final touches improve, it could easily charge higher prices. So it's also a balance between price and expectations

My stay at Sigiri Heritage Villa was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and care by the owners, whose hospitality truly made me feel at home. Their kindness and attention to detail elevated the entire experience. One of the standout highlights was the incredible home-cooked meals. Every dish was bursting with authentic Sri Lankan flavors—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. Dining there felt like being part of the family. The villa itself offers a breathtaking view of Sigiriya Rock, which becomes especially surreal during sunrise and sunset. Waking up to that view every morning was something I’ll never forget. The poolside area is peaceful and beautifully maintained—perfect for a relaxing dip after exploring or simply soaking in the tranquil atmosphere with nature all around. Sigiri Heritage Villa strikes a perfect balance between comfort, authenticity, and serenity. I can’t recommend it enough, and I’ll definitely be returning. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful hosts for making this stay so memorable.

We had the double room with view of the Sigiriya Palace Rock. But to have that view the room had a mezzanine floor with quite a steep ladder up to the bedroom. Was not great for my husband who could not manage the steep staircase/ladder up to the bed. We had also booked a family room for the children so he had to swap with one of them. Would be helpful if that was explicitly mentioned when booking that particular room. The showers in both rooms had very poor water pressure. Could not really be called a shower, more a trickle of water. Food at dinner and breakfast was OK but not particularly good; average at best.

The hotel is set in lovely grounds. This was our first stop, so we made use of the pool and loungers to chill and unwind. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Tuk Tuk into the main part of Sigiriya is about 10 mins / £1.50. Great a/c in room.

Our room was really small and hard to navigate when our cases were open. There was minimal areas to put clothes and toiletries. Breakfast wasn't great on our first day so we used the excellent breakfast places on the main road (3/4 min walk) that we're really delicious.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were spacious, making it a perfect place to relax. The host was extremely friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. A major highlight was the pool, which was clean and well-maintained – ideal for both adults and kids. Another big plus: no mosquitoes! It really seems like the owner takes care of that, which added to our comfort. The food was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. What truly stood out was how attentive they were – for example, they noticed that a child in our group was a bit fussy with food and, on their own initiative, adjusted a sandwich to suit them better. That level of care was impressive. Everything was spotless, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, an exceptional place with thoughtful touches that make a big difference. Highly recommended!

We liked the location, pool, staff. Staff were able to arrange their tuk tuks easily and didn't charge us too much. Breakfast was decent. They didn't start their construction until 9am. WiFi was good. Close to the main road and other restaurants. We had a leak in our bathroom due to a heavily rainy day and they moved us to an equivalent room promptly. Rooms were sound proof and we couldn't hear the neighbours or any dog barking.

It can rain a lot in December and we had one totally rainy day but this is obviously not their fault.

Loved this hotel! Fantastic value for money, great pool and facilities but the thing that makes this place stand out is the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they always had a smile on their faces and were so helpful. The hotel arranged a fantastic safari for us to Minneriya where we got to witness the elephant gathering which was an experience I’ll never forget, the tour guide was super informative and experienced too.

Nice stay specialy for family with younger kids. Nice swimmingpool and seats, nice area. The price is a bit high excl . breakfast. At evening we went out for dinner. You can have also have dinner there but it is not so cozy. It shpuld be nice if the change towels after 2 nights. The owner and his family are so kind and so extreme helpful and you can book all your trips there it is good.

Lovely generous sized room with separate mezzanine level for kids beds. Lovely pool and grounds. Friendly and professional manager and staff - we were impressed / grateful that they all could help us with things in English and make decisions (like arranging to take us out in the hotel Tuktuk, arrange luggage storage) without needing to check with the manager first or get him to translate. Good inexpensive restaurant on site serving nice food. We loved the chocolate banana roti!!
