Very cute but small hotel in the heart of Appenzell. Very well taken care of, renovated and very clean. Small rooms but practical and comfortable. Excellent breakfast with very high quality of products and great presentation. Really a gem, sparkling clean and beautiful all over.

Owners really need to reconsider the glass and see-through bathroom doors in the rooms. They don't even close properly and thoroughly, so if one has to go, the other person has to leave the room completely. 🙄 zero practicality. Also, the staff should learn to speak basic English. We sometimes had a hard time communicating. However, these minor problems didn't affect our stay at all. Again, it's the prettiest, loveliest hotel .

Great location. Beautiful area and quaint village. They have outdoor eating areas, as well as good food/drinks. Loved the live music. Ease of getting to/from train station. Clean and modern rooms. Great breakfast. Very accommodating with breakfast when we had to leave early to catch the train.

The room was pretty warm because of the weather, which I believe was unseasonable. We were provided a fan, which helped.

It is centrally located, a short walk to the train station. The room is clean and spacious, and the restaurant is cosy. The breakfast is simple and healthy enough to kick start a day. The staff are friendly and helpful although I dont understand german and we tried to make sure we understand each other still.

The hotel rooms seem brand new - they have been freshly renovated. The rooms are bright and well-lit and seem well-appointed. The staff was very friendly.

The bathroom didn't have a door, just a sliding glass panel that was basically see-through. I wouldn't want to share a room with anyone I wasn't very, very comfortable with.

Breakfast offered a limited choice but was very nice. Dinner was fabulous. Service was consistently good.

I was located above the restaurant, so there was a bit of noise after the restaurant closed (moving chairs, etc.). It was not a big problem. Coffee at breakfast was not so good.

The breakfast was wonderful. We also had dinner at the restaurant and the chestnut crusted pork was also delish!

Only the weather. However, the hotel's central location made up for the rain as we could easily get around without much inconvenience. It would have been nice to have an elevator.

The hotel is localized right in the centre of Appenzell. The staff is friendly and approachable. Breakfast, although not very varied, has quality options and is served with friendliness.

Breakfast has little variety. The rooms and bathroom are small.

Great staff !! delicious breakfast excellent food in the restaurant We have been to the restaurant many times, but never to the hotel. We will be back for sure.

On the weekend we stayed there, there was an open air at the Postplatz, which we didn't know about. The music was rather loud and due to the proximity it could be heard until late at night. Of course, this is not the hotel's fault. However, it would have been great if there had been a short information in the booking confirmation about the happening, so we would have been prepared for it. But even so, it was not really a problem.

The room, the staff, the breakfasts and supper, the location, and value were all ideal. I thoroughly enjoyed my 3-day stay here and would gladly stay here again if I'm in this area again.

The rooms were small and very well thought out, because they have everything that you need for two or three travelers. The beds were comfortable, rooms are very clean, and recently upgraded.

The bathrooms were nice, and everything was new and upgraded, but my wife wished there had been a small electrical hair dryer.
