The hotel is located at the back exit of the Hualien Station, only 3min walk away on a much quieter street. The hotel room is specious and new, with very comfortable bed, and most importantly it’s sparkling clean. The staff is friendly and extremely attentive, but may not have the extensive tourism information, however the official Tourism office is just 3min away at the Hualien Station! I stayed 2 nights there with my elderly parents and they’re very happy with their facility and environment too. I would highly recommended this hotel and will definitely stay there again if I visit Hualien.

Once you know your way around, accommodation is very near the train station and bus station. Use the West exit ( looks older) and hotel is 80m to the right of the 7-11. Water dispenser available to fill our bottles. Bathroom was renovated and clean. Staff helped us call a tour operator as we did not have a Taiwan number.

The immediate surroundings is run down. To walk to Zhongshan Road, you have to walk through a quiet street (beside a car tunnel) and then an underground walkway, but thereafter there are many shops and eateries!

It's English name should be East Gate Boutique Hotel not Dongdaemon. Nice bathroom. Great to get ABC Australia in English. Easy walk to the railway station. Friendly staff. It had an interesting courtyard area and an unusual building design. It had a little fridge in the room. The bed was softer than a usual Taiwanese bed. Nice entry foyer with comfortable chairs.

Noise transferred easily between the rooms. I suspect that was from the ceiling vents. It could be a problem if you had noisy neighbours.

When we arrive and enter our room the aircon is not working so it so hot at night but we complain and they tried to fix but they couldn't. They gave us an electric fan for the meantime and said that tomorrow they will call someone to fix the aircon and the following day when we arrived from our tour its already fixed. So very good. And the staff they're so attentive.

There's a clogg in the sink.

Convenient location neat train station. Clean and comfortable room.

TV remote control was not working, the front desk staff came to check immediately. Hopefully it will be fixed soon after I check out the next day.

It was nice and clean. We liked the free bicycles which allowed us to explore Hualien. The staff was courteous and helpful.

Initially we were given a room that reeked with the smell of smoke. They did kindly give us a room next door which initially seemed fine but bothered us later.

Good accommodation, very good location (close to the Trainstation). Good bathroom. Nice and helpful frontdesk staff, was communicating in english. As a traveler i do recommend you this hotel. Keep in mind that a few aircrafts a day will low pass this area (during the daytime only).

The hotel is about 5mins walk from the back entrance of Hualien Train Station. It’s convenient, there 7-11 nearby, breakfast shop opposite, more breakfast, and late dinner shops within <500m radius. Their ’No Smoking’ room is real. No smoke smell within the room. The receptionists are all very friendly and approachable. We could borrow 3 bicycles for half a day which is a plus plus!!

Housekeeping should include some floor mats in the toilet/ outside the toilet.

Good location, 5 mins walk from the train station. The room was large and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful with booking taxis.

The shower was very good but be warned that it can be extremely hot; perhaps there should be a warning there as could easily get hurt.

Rooms were clean and comfy, staff were helpful and friendly, very central location behind the Hualien train station.

There was a smell of cigarette smoke when we checked into our room but the staff helped to disinfect and ran an air purifier when we notified them of the issue. As our room was right beside the street, it was slightly noisy.
