Light Hostel is the perfect choice for anyone visiting Hualien. Conveniently situated just a 3-minute walk from the train station, and with the bus station merely a minute away, it's incredibly accessible. The hostel's well-designed common area fosters easy conversation among travelers, while the friendly and helpful staffs add to the welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are impeccably well maintained, featuring key-card accessible lockers for storing belongings, comfortable beds, and clean toilet facilities. Overall, my experience at Light Hostel was excellent, and I highly recommend it to solo travelers and families alike.

The staff were very helpful, the hostel had such a good atmosphere, the beds were very private and clean, it had a lot of space to put your thing, the shower was well put together and easy to use with an area to keep your towel and slippers.

One of the best hostel I have ever seen. The beds are super comfortable and seemed new and modern, our room was not fully booked so everybody had a bed assignment on the ground so nobody needed to go up the ladder, curtains for each bed have been great for privacy and darkness, individual light and and power plug in each bed, super nice big shower room with a dressing/undressing area before each individual shower, common area with basic kitchen equipment and big fridge to be used by everyone.

Good facilities, clean bathroom, showers were especially nice and gave the most amount of privacy to me compared to every other hostel I was at.

Nothing against the hostel itself, but I had the worst, most passive-aggressive roommate. We could not agree on what temperature the A/C should be, and frankly he just turned it off most of the time which made the room too warm for me to feel comfortable in. At one point, the remote for the A/C went missing and I suspect it's because he hid it from me. This is the risk we take when we stay at a hostel!

Hostel is 5 min walk from train station, very convenient for tour meet ups. The room was clean and very comfortable. Very good selection of shows on tv. Will definitely come back!

Slightly far from main streets where all the shops are and hualien bus services ends pretty early, had to walk 30 min back to the hostel.

Super close to the train and bus stations which makes it easy to travel around Hualien. Staff was very friendly. Offers towels and showers have conditioner! Good wifi connection on first and second floors (that’s where I stayed so I can’t speak for other floors). Convenient key card access for front door, your room and a locker that is matched with your bed. Beds were comfortable.

My bed curtain didn’t close all the way so there was about an inch of space on one side.

Location. Just perfect. About ten minutes walk from the railway station and less to the Bus station. I like the fact that beverages were revised, complementary and the segregation of male and female dormitories into different floor. The first floor has family room, I guess.

Good location, very close to train and bus stations making transport to and around town very easy. Close to scooter rental for visiting Taroko National Park. Clean and quiet, great showers with plenty of space.

Could do with another fan or two in the bathrooms as it does get very hot and stuffy in summer but the AC in the dorm is great.

Very near to hualien train station. just walk 200m with flat walking from train station. also it very closed to hualien bus station. hostel is just infront of the hualien bus station to visit Tarako National Park if you taking a bus. Hostel also is very cozy and pleasent to stay. the receptionist also a very kind. They also provide all the basic ammenities to kitchenware.

Great location! 5mins walk to Hualien bus station as well as Hualien TRA station. The bus station has bus 310 to Taroko Gorge as well as other buses to tourisr spots. Bathrooms had a separate area between bathing and changing which is great as things won't get wet. During my stay 3 bath cubicles and 3 toilet cubicles were open for use. Beds were pretty big too! Bigger than normal hostels.

Reception closes pretty early at 6pm but it didn't really affect me.
