During our 4.5 weeks stay in Zanzibar we booked twice (first time 7, second time 6 nights) the 2-bedroom bungalow in the beautiful green oasis of Paola & Danielle (& their 7 cats 😻). We loved not only the privacy and comfort of the bungalow but it also always felt like coming home :). Although the East Coast of Zanzibar is facing regular power outages we never had an issue at Nyumbani due to their own generator. Nyumbani Residence is not only very well suited for a trip with friends but also families and couples. A big thanks goes out to the super warm and welcoming staff, too. We can't wait to come back to escape the German winter again. Asante sana 💚!

A really really minor point was the variety of the breakfast for us Germans. We would've loved some more hearty, too.

In Nyumbani villas you will find everything you need. The villas are surrounded by lush vegetation, everything is well-kept, you can relax by the pool or on the intimate terrace of your villa behind a wall of plants. In the morning, simple fresh breakfasts and squeezed juices are served in a homely atmosphere - everyone will find something for themselves. Paola is a treasure trove of knowledge about Zanzibar and its attractions and Fatuma, always smiling, was always ready to explain and advise everything. The place is very safe, a few minutes' walk from the beach - there is a family atmosphere and a balance between commercial Zanzibar and the bustle of the streets.

Property is first of all a little bit different as you see in the pictures. Outside there are a lot of plants, completely covering the view from the therase, it feels like a little jungle. On the other hand it is good for privacy and heat protection. Property has good mosqito nets so you can feel safe. Also the kitchen has almoust everything you would need for cooking, we were only missing the tool to mash the potatoes with. Extra water is payable, you pay 5 $ for 20 liters. Otherwise Paola&Danielle (the owners from Italy) are very hospitable and will make sure you get everything you need and feel good at their place.

A bumpy road that leads to the property, even a bumpier road to the beach which is uneven. Breakfast could have more variety. Every day is the same program (milk, pastries, toast, butter, chocolate spread, marmalade, little bit fresh fruit, a box of juice and a few coffee and tee bags/ packs), which can be little bit repeatable if you stay a long time like we did. The standard of the rooms varies, the first we had was much better standard like the second one. The doors don’t fit properly and make a sound, the ceiling fan makes a sound and there is an electricity stabilizer in some rooms which makes a sound as well.

Nyumbani residence is a home away from home. I liked the spacious bungalow with all the things you need. Comfy beds with nets and power supply nearby, great shower, fully equipped kitchen and a lovely verandah outside. The pools were great to jump in with good beach beds aside. The breakfast had everything you need with a daily freshmade cake. Paola and her team are at your service all the time and very helpful. The location is a bit inland but at walking distance from the beautiful beach where there are many opportunities to have a meal. Otherwise, you can use delivery services or just cook yourself.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

Amazing accomodations. The same as the pictures shown. Really great value for money. Paola, the host, si wonderful- taking care and doing the best. Residence is very nice, apartment is large, very good equipped kitchen, huge terrace. Close to the beach, and two pools are the best! Breakfast are sweet, bread, buns, jam, chocolate, juice, milk yogurt. Little minimarket is on the main road, also you can buy the a fresh fruit from residents. We spent there 6 nights.

Garden is very nicse full of trees and flowers, with shade, just a lot of mosquitos in the evening, so take a repelent with you.

The accommodation is full of trees, flowers and other plants, making it a small paradise just 5min walk from the beach. The apartments are very big and equipped with lots of things for cooking. The 2 swimming pools are perfect especially to enjoy while the sea is in low tide. The staff and Paola are incredibly welcoming and kind, and they offer a variety of activities to do in the east and west coast of Zanzibar. We definitely recommend for your stay in Jambiani!

Nothing, it’s a fantastic place to spend your holidays!

First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to Paula and her team! They did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Paula is an incredibly warm and welcoming person and this creates a beautiful aura in the place. The bungalow we stayed in was comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. The huge advantage for me was the strong WiFi as I work remotely. Also, the swimming pools are really lovely. The whole residence has a very relaxed and serene atmosphere thanks to the amazing people working there who truly live out their passion for hospitality. The walk to the beach is just 2-3 min with lots of restaurants and bars. Overall, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Zanzibar!

The breakfast choices are extremely limited. Please, if you could provide some cold cuts/vegetable it would go a long way

Heaven for cat lovers, it is perfectly situated by the beach and town center, there are also many discounts they provide which can be utilised on restaurants nearby. The beach is ever so peaceful and a perfect stay to relax. Paula the owner is amazing she has made sure that we were okay throughout our stay and even helped us immensely when needed.

The mosquitoes around the property is a nuisance please make sure you have taken all precautions. The bedroom does come with mosquito nets but these crafty guys still find a way to get through

Two clean pools with outdoor showers. Good AC, all kitchen utensils very clean appartment with drinkable water cooling in the fridge before arrival. nice private terrace. A lot of plants and trees. Fresh breakfast

As i already mentioned to super kind host Paola, buying drinks directly at the property would come really handy. She was happy to hear that and explained that they are already planning this to her place. But it was not that bad, since there are multiple stores to buy drinks from just a 10 minute walk away (round trip)

We loved this place. Beautiful gardens, two pools so naturally one attracts the adults that want to relax and one families with kids. Hosts and all the staff super friendly. Spacious apartments with kitchen, lovely breakfast, short walk to the beach. You get some free water at the start and then just 5€ for big bottle so you never have to worry about water and plastic waste which was otherwise bit of an issue for rest of our Zanzibar trip. We had great time and would definitely come back.

Just that we had to leave :D
