Very beautiful garden, quiet and very well managed Suites. The Italian manager responded to every request immediately. Our Suite was bigger and cleaner than the most other we visited in Zanzibar. We had Air-condition and hot water all the time. There’s also a electric generator that was a huge plus. Also great Internet connection! The cats are cute) Mille grazie

The property is in the second/third row from the beach and the roads to the property and to the beach aren’t in best shape but that’s obviously a well known local infrastructure issue..well it’s Zanzibar not Miami)) There’s not really something not to like because all the Hotel staff is very friendly and doing their best to make you feel like home!

During our 4.5 weeks stay in Zanzibar we booked twice (first time 7, second time 6 nights) the 2-bedroom bungalow in the beautiful green oasis of Paola & Danielle (& their 7 cats 😻). We loved not only the privacy and comfort of the bungalow but it also always felt like coming home :). Although the East Coast of Zanzibar is facing regular power outages we never had an issue at Nyumbani due to their own generator. Nyumbani Residence is not only very well suited for a trip with friends but also families and couples. A big thanks goes out to the super warm and welcoming staff, too. We can't wait to come back to escape the German winter again. Asante sana 💚!

A really really minor point was the variety of the breakfast for us Germans. We would've loved some more hearty, too.

The hotel is run by an Italian family. Paola has created a piece of Europe in the middle of the exotic African jungle. We found European standards of quality and comfort and the warmth of Italian hospitality. Beautiful surroundings, small cozy houses nestled among blooming African trees, bushes, and flowers. The hotel is close to the main road, which is very convenient for traveling, yet we had a sense of complete privacy and seclusion. The hotel isn’t located directly on the beach, but it’s only a five-minute walk away. Within the hotel grounds, there are even two big swimming pools, with a nicely arranged relaxation area, so you can enjoy the sun and water without leaving the property. We stayed in a very comfortable, spacious house with air conditioning. There were some water and spices for cooking waiting for us upon arrival. The continental breakfast was great. The best experience, however, was Paola - the very special hostess of the place. She personally handled every single issue, answered all our questions, and gave us the most valuable advice on restaurants and services in nearby towns. She also shared her favorite places in Stone Town, which we gladly visited and truly appreciated. All the staff members were very helpful, offering advice on getting around and making the most of our stay. The hotel is in a great location. You can easily walk to Paje along the beach. There’s a large sandbank with very easy access, just a short distance from the hotel to the north - you simply can’t miss it. It’s an amazing place for all kinds of enjoyment. And just to the south, there’s the very special town of Jambiani - full of friendly people and interesting activities. A very genuine vibe of local life. At this hotel, we were able to unwind after a rather thrilling and exciting journey. It felt like European home with all the beauty and pleasures of Africa. The biggest thank you to Paola.

In Nyumbani villas you will find everything you need. The villas are surrounded by lush vegetation, everything is well-kept, you can relax by the pool or on the intimate terrace of your villa behind a wall of plants. In the morning, simple fresh breakfasts and squeezed juices are served in a homely atmosphere - everyone will find something for themselves. Paola is a treasure trove of knowledge about Zanzibar and its attractions and Fatuma, always smiling, was always ready to explain and advise everything. The place is very safe, a few minutes' walk from the beach - there is a family atmosphere and a balance between commercial Zanzibar and the bustle of the streets.

It was a wonderful 7-night stay at Nyumbani Residence. The hotel facilities are excellent, with large swimming pools and beautiful greenery, including lush trees and well-maintained gardens. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and supportive—especially Paola (owner), Fatima, and the rest of the team. The hotel is also well-located, close to the beach, shopping markets, and various services.

The way from the main road to the hotel is not in good condition specially after rains.

Breakfast was delicious with eggs to order. Rooms were spacious with fantastic bathroom. Self catering facility was top notch with many relaxation areas in our villa and by the 2 pools. Beautifully maintained gardens which gives a lot of privacy. Great host, Paula and her friendly staff. Loved the stay.

Loved it all. Only negative was that the bed matress was hard, but some people will like this. The daybed matresses were more comfy. No complaint.

Nyumbani residence is a home away from home. I liked the spacious bungalow with all the things you need. Comfy beds with nets and power supply nearby, great shower, fully equipped kitchen and a lovely verandah outside. The pools were great to jump in with good beach beds aside. The breakfast had everything you need with a daily freshmade cake. Paola and her team are at your service all the time and very helpful. The location is a bit inland but at walking distance from the beautiful beach where there are many opportunities to have a meal. Otherwise, you can use delivery services or just cook yourself.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

A tropical oasis! We absolutely loved our stay here, Paola, Fatuma and the rest of the team are so lovely and welcoming. Our room was fantastic, really spacious, comfortable and clean. A great location with only a few minutes to walk to the beach where bars and restaurants are nearby. There are 2 pools and the landscaping gives it a real jungle feel. We really hope to return here in the future and would highly recommend!

Property is first of all a little bit different as you see in the pictures. Outside there are a lot of plants, completely covering the view from the therase, it feels like a little jungle. On the other hand it is good for privacy and heat protection. Property has good mosqito nets so you can feel safe. Also the kitchen has almoust everything you would need for cooking, we were only missing the tool to mash the potatoes with. Extra water is payable, you pay 5 $ for 20 liters. Otherwise Paola&Danielle (the owners from Italy) are very hospitable and will make sure you get everything you need and feel good at their place.

A bumpy road that leads to the property, even a bumpier road to the beach which is uneven. Breakfast could have more variety. Every day is the same program (milk, pastries, toast, butter, chocolate spread, marmalade, little bit fresh fruit, a box of juice and a few coffee and tee bags/ packs), which can be little bit repeatable if you stay a long time like we did. The standard of the rooms varies, the first we had was much better standard like the second one. The doors don’t fit properly and make a sound, the ceiling fan makes a sound and there is an electricity stabilizer in some rooms which makes a sound as well.

The accommodation is full of trees, flowers and other plants, making it a small paradise just 5min walk from the beach. The apartments are very big and equipped with lots of things for cooking. The 2 swimming pools are perfect especially to enjoy while the sea is in low tide. The staff and Paola are incredibly welcoming and kind, and they offer a variety of activities to do in the east and west coast of Zanzibar. We definitely recommend for your stay in Jambiani!
