Le Mersenne is an extraordinary hotel. It is located on the slopes to the Indian Ocean with a great view. The rooms are of great quality, spacious and decorated with taste. Staff was very courteous, however, sometimes missing the professional attitude and training for a good service of a 5-star hotel. The Spa is of great quality but quite pricy.

The restaurant quality is not good. Staff and food are not up to the 5-star standard of the hotel. Breakfast is boring and of low quality. There was no change of what was on display every morning. Fruits offered were not ripe even though of the current season. No toaster was functioning, Staff ignoring and not replacing when requested by the guests. The service at the dinner was not well trained. Our aperitifs for dinner came after long waiting and several reminders together with with the food and the wine. Prices at the restaurant are fully exaggerated and too much for the quality provided. Making up rooms was slow and not done before late afternoon, laundry was forgotten to be picked up and washed next day only.

stunning hotel with beautiful decor & charm and stunning views. The cleaning team were excellent with regular, routine housekeeping checks. The pool area and surrounding ocean views are just divine. We were also offered a complimentary 15 mins foot massage which was a really nice touch. A number of stand out key team members: such as the lovely chef (Dominic), the attentive male head of restaurant and the very efficient & friendly female south African receptionist (apologies for the lack of names)

The hotel is secluded and taxis or a driver is required to get around the island. It takes a good 1.5hrs to visit many of the places of interest and the hotels charge extortionate prices for their taxi services. On top of that their taxi service isn't even reliable for the return pick up. We were left stranded on more than one occasion! There is no beach here.

I absolutely loved everything about this property and have already recommended it to my friends and family. Great staff and service from everyone. The Chef -Jihan is a super talented and made us the chef’s sushi journey 8 course meal… definitely one to remember. Already planning on visiting this property again in a year or 2. Chloe the supervisor was amazing and looked after us very well, please send our appreciation to everyone. Thank you so much for everything truly enjoyed our stay at the best resort in Michamvhi🤍😀

Great Ambience 👍 nice spa on grounds the staff were very friendly and helpful Annette and Beno were our fav! Location is close to cool beaches and local food joints! Worth the trip from the airport !

From the airport we had to wait for 2 hours for our room to be ready which was very stressful as we were jet lagged. We had to go to Paje or Nungwi beach as there are no beach activities for guests like jet ski etc

Le Mersenne is a little paradise! The resort is beautiful with such an amazing view! The rooms are very nice and clean. Friendly staff and always at your service! The spa was also great. We stayed at Le Mersenne for four days and we didn't leave the resort because we loved how peaceful and beautiful this place was.

We didn't like the food which was served. The first week of our stay in Zanzibar we stayed in Nungwi were we had lunch and dinner in really great restaurants, the food there was delicious and freshly made. So we could tell the difference between freshly made food and freezer meals. Also the chief was rude to its staff which wasn't justifiably because they were hard working and nice people. So if they improve their meals this place would be a 10 out of 10!

Me and my wife went to Zanzibar for our honeymoon and what an experience it was staying at Le Mersenne hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make it the most magical experience for us both. Can not urge people enough to check this hotel out. Megan one of the staff at the hotel was the most hospitable staff members I have ever come across. She did us a complimentary upgrade to one of the sea front villas which was absolutely stunning. The kitchen manager Maddy was the kindest and most caring person ever. He ensured that every one of his meals was spot on. He even did us a romantic meal by the pool for me and my wife. We also bumped into the owners of the hotel at one breakfast meal and they were the most amazing people we have met. Aleem and his wife Dena went above and beyond even though they had a lot on their plate. We cannot thank them enough for what they did for us. Even some of the other staff like Saeed, Omar one of the waiters, Doreen from the spa were all absolutely amazing. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again. More than just a hotel stay but a bond made for life.

Nothing that I could improve this hotel on

This was the best hotel that I’ve never been to best memories of my life. I really liked everything. Customer care was hundred out of 10 they are so helpful. The service was great. The meal was so perfect. Very easy to understand the menu the workers they are we are so friendly, smiling making sure that you are so comfortable like it’s just felt like at home nothing was wrong. Everything was so excellent. I had the best memory of my life. I can never forget. there is no place compare with this. This is one of the best.

Nothing was bad

We had a fantastic personal experience! While enjoyment depends on expectations, we enjoyed it so much we extended from one night to two. The location is stunningly beautiful, offering complete relaxation. The staff were wonderfully welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. We opted for a water villa even though they were pre-season; the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Unfortunately, it rained both days, but it didn't ruin our time. The smells of BBQ, the sound of the tropical downpour, and waves crashing created an unforgettable atmosphere. Thank you!
