This was the perfect place to stay both before and after our Mt Kili hike. The hotel is a beautifully appointed boutique space that exudes understated luxury — peaceful, intimate, and thoughtfully designed. The pool was a welcome treat, and the food was delicious and of excellent value (which is noteworthy as if you don't have a car, there aren't any other food choices close by). The staff were very friendly and happily stored our luggage that we didn't require for the hike.

The only small downside (and one that’s understandably outside the hotelier’s direct control) was the behaviour of a fellow guest. The atmosphere did shift a little with children running around the pool area, which took away from the otherwise peaceful, refined vibe. Perhaps a gentle policy or signage could help preserve the tranquil setting the hotel does so well to create.

Beautiful hotel! The ambiance is top notch! The owner greeted us on arrival. Warm welcoming owner and staff! We truly felt at home at Pink Flamingo. Enjoyed the laid back environment, free flowing fruits and delicious coffee cake each day. The staff was very professional especially Prosper! He was so kind throughout our stay. Management was great with facilitating transportation to our next location.

The recommended driver, Paschal. He was not friendly, did not speak on arrival and barely wanted to help with luggage. Pink Flamingo quoted $35USD for transport to JRO. He quoted $70 but agreed on $40. Bed was quite firm (subjective).

What a gem! We travel a lot, but I think this place is definitely in our top three of unique destinations we've visited. The little boutique hotel is owned and managed by a charming and lovely Italian lady with a great eye for detail. Everything about it is of high standards - service, furnishings, garden, and decoration. The room was stunning - it was so spacious, with even fresh flowers. The coffee was the best (there were even different coffee machines!), and the pasta tasted like it was made in heaven. It was such a great and welcome change from the African cuisine (which we also love). We almost had the entire place to ourselves, so we truly felt like royalty. And we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Kilimanjaro - what an unforgettable experience! Absolut great value for money. We wished we would have stayed more nights there - for us it was 10 times more relaxing than in our Zanzibar stay (and also, in our humble opinion, with an even better view).

I would have to make up a lie to find something negative about this place :)

The permanently available tea, coffee and muffins. The many places that one can comfortably lounge. The very tastefully appointed rooms and public spaces. The absolute calm and quiet. The delicious breakfasts, and options for dinner and lunch. But above all, the warmth and generosity of the welcome.

I have no complaints. I preferred Pink Flamingo to many 4 and 5 star hotels. It is a little simpler, but the tastefulness of the decoration and the generosity of the welcome leaves their competitors in the dust.

This was one of the most unique hotels at which we have stayed. The pottage we had was exceptional, the grounds were in full bloom with multiple exotic flowers and plants, the food was fantastic, 3 swimming pools and the owners were most accommodating. If you have a chance to go to Moshi, you should reserve a room of the Pink Flamingo. You won't regret it!

Agathe & Claus have already received a lot of enthusiastic, fully deserved feedbacks from the web community for their hospitality and top class professionalism, well trained staff, food, immaculate cleanness of the venue and real luxury it offers in the midst of Tanzanian countryside. Let me ad 2 less obvious upsides: 1. You are free to make walks around the neighborhood to see, unguided and unguarded, the true rural Tanzania with friendly people, interesting landscapes, the real life. 2. For birdwatchers: the area is very productive with partly different set of species than those of Serengeti. The hotel is a natural base for Kilimanjaro hike, however, whichever part of North Tanzania you explore, if your home flight is from JRO (45’ drive) or Arusha (1.45h) you will want to stay for a couple of days at Pink Flamingo to relax after or before your African experience

Everything was 10/10 and perfect for relaxing after climbing Kilimanjaro. The staff are all incredible and will literally do anything to make sure you have the most amazing time. The hotel itself beautiful and peaceful.

The location is peaceful and perfect to relax but if you were to stay here for a longer period of time you would need to think about how you would get to places.

Agathe and Klaus ( spelling?) have recently taken over at the Pink Flamingo. They are doing an outstanding job of interacting with the guests, without being intrusive. Klaus is a wonderful chef and Agathe took my wife into Moshi to have a look around while I was climbing to the first huts on Mount Kiliminjaro. The rooms are amazing, luxurious and the staff are all so friendly and kind. I cannot recommend this hotel enough..they really go beyond the basics and the overall costs for both dinners, drinks and the rooms were really not expensive.

We stayed in an apartment with a private pool and it was exceptional, the rooms were big and the bathrooms felt like luxury. The pool area was lovely to hang out. It's run by a friendly German couple, Klaus and Agata, who were always happy to help. The small number of rooms gives the hotel a relaxed and intimate feel. The spa was also great value for money and I had one of the best massages ever.

There wasn't anything that I didn't like. It's about 15 mins outside Moshi which was great for the scenery/peacefulness but means you have to be organised about ordered taxis, and some of the local tuk tuk drivers in Moshi don't know the location.
