We´ve been the second time in a row staying at Shanti Lodge, so we did it on choice. Shanti Lodge is a safe and peaceful place where you experience freedom and laid-backness. Staff is always very helpful, caring and approachable. It´s literally an oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of busy Chalong. You meet backpackers, couples, families, single travelers - all in one place. We can only recommend it.

The prices for food and drinks raised significantly since last year. Which we were a bit surprised about. We had the impression, that we "should" order food and drinks from the kitchen - but obviously decided ourself.

There is an extensive menu with all kinds of delicious things for order. The staff felt like friends after only a day, and the service was very personal, but not in an intrusive way. There is an optional washing service included for fair prices, by simply leaving the washing basket in front of the hotel door. The music in the restaurant is varied and the staff is good at adjusting it to the feel of the moment. They check with you if it's okay or too loud. The place is pretty, clearly loved and well cared for and there are beautiful plants in the garden. The swimming pool is open throughout the night. The nearby street's noise is very well subdued and imperceptible enough to calmly relax. There is a cannabis shop included in the hotel and an environment friendly to smoking without it being obnoxious. There is a trustworthy bike rental place at the corner of the street. and some 24h shops within 5 mins walking.

I didn't like that when I left the bedroom, the power sockets went out. So i couldn't leave devices charging while I was at the restaurant. I could charge at the restaurant though. I also found the concrete of the swimming pool to be too rough.

Very mellow place that indeed earns the name Shanti! The lodge feels like home with strangers that quickly become friends. It's calm and peaceful. The accommodation we booked was decent, clean and comfortable. The infrastructure around is excellent, street food stalls, supermarkets, bakery, bike rental, massage and beaches are to reach easily. Friendly, helpful staff at Shanti Lodge makes your stay very enjoyable. There is even a vintage clothing shop located, they sell all kinds of clothes and accessories for a good cause and very cheap prices. We can only recommend it!

The local Thai staff could probably work on improving their English skills, to make conversation easier for both sides.

The food was wonderful, the pool was a joy (especially with the waterfall running), the staff and all the pets were really lovely (even grumpy choco). We loved our room, the whole experience was a really welcome introduction to Thailand after a long flight. Bravo! 🙌

We really liked almost everything, it’s on a bit of a busy road, but location can’t be helped, and it’s such a lovely oasis the road really didn’t bother us.

The shanti lodge is a gorgeous place to stay the grounds are like a tropical jungle with a pool. The rooms are very quirky with dark wood and coloured glass.

It is very loud in the lodge you cannot have a lay in with very creaky floorboards and early rising guests. It was a little out the way you need transportation to get around.

Absolutely amazing place in a great central location in chalong. The property is gorgeous and has lovely rooms and a pool. It has a shared bathroom and toilet which was always clean and the overall dining hall to order food drinks and smokables is amazing! They have the cutest cats and dogs who are super friendly and cuddly!

I love everything about it!

The whole place makes you feel like you are in a colonial jungle resort. The jungle planting, quirky creative touches, yoga/ meditation area and friendly atmosphere set it apart from other hotels/guest houses. You are really made to feel at ease by all the staff. The restaurant serves a great selection of really tasty food although we had a room with a small kitchen veranda (gas hob, sink and fridge, table and chairs) so we’re able to do our own breakfast’s etc when we wanted to. It’s a 10 minute walk to a big supermarket and 20 minutes to Wat Chalong the most famous temple on the island. We would stay here again if we returned to Phuket.

There are a few small maintenance jobs around the pool area that could be easily fixed, broken sunbeds and tiles etc but nothing major. However please note that while guests included young families and older travelers it is also a haven for back packers and because of the legal cannabis laws the smell of weed is prevalent and they sell cannabis products at the bar.

Everything was really great. I'd recommend it without hesitation, whether you're a family, a couple or on your own. The atmosphere is very homely and, if you stay a few days, you get to know the regulars. A big thank you to Grace, who runs the place and is joie de vivre incarnate. A moment of relaxation where you're immersed in a zen atmosphere! Thanks for everything!

To be honest, we enjoyed everything. Even if some of the equipment may seem rudimentary, it fits in well with the location. The owner has even set up a system to manage water fairly, and there's an autonomous system for collecting rainwater, treating it and using it. The only drawback is the mosquitoes. But you get them everywhere in Thailand.

Although right at the highway, it's a very nice, silent place with a good pool, where you can cool off 24 hrs a day. I loved all the plants and the environment. A good starting point to get to big buddha and wat chalong, both worth a visit.

It's not easy to get public transport from here, but with Grab or the local friend or the connections the staff has you can get anywhere in the surrounding.

The staff were lovely and the food was delicious and for a good price too. Great family atmosphere and I felt very safe there. The room and resort were very clean

Everything was great, next time I will definitely get my own private bathroom as I’m still adjusting to the cuisine over here! Recommend to anyone with a sensitive stomach to get your own bathroom 😊
