Mai Khao Lak is simply fabulous—there’s no other way to put it! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by this beautiful resort. While it is a bit removed from central Khao Lak, the feeling of isolation is far from a downside. It’s a peaceful retreat, and with central Khao Lak only a short 15-minute ride away, the resort’s shuttle service makes it easy to stay connected (just remember to book your spot in advance). Despite the resort's large size, it remains quiet and uncrowded. Each block is designed with its own spacious pool, so you’ll never feel like you’re competing for space. The variety of on-site restaurants is a highlight, offering a wide selection of dishes to cater to every taste. The buffet breakfast is great for adults but even better for kids offering heaps of kid-friendly options. There's local dining along the beach. These spots serve up delicious, authentic food, and you’ll also find laundry services at an affordable 80 Baht per kilo. Massages also available. We had 2ad, 3ch and booked two rooms: one pool access room and one deluxe room. The resort did an excellent job of accommodating our request to have the rooms close together. The pool access room great, with direct access to the pool from the small decked seated area outside the room. There are also adult only areas with poolside bars and secluded, quiet areas. The staff at Mai Khao Lak are friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, they made our stay effortless and enjoyable, their customer service 5 stars! We initially thought khao lak was too quiet, however there is so much to do if you research your trip. we found Facebook groups helpful for ideas, recommendations, and even booking private drivers. This made exploring the area easy and stress-free. Overall, Mai Khao Lak is a perfect getaway for families or couples seeking a peaceful, luxurious retreat with plenty of amenities and activities. Our experience was excellent, and we would happily stay here again!

hotel is located in a quiet area next to very nice and cosy beach. In the room we found a basket with a beach mat so you do not worry if you don’t find free sunbed. Breakfast is fantastic, you can choose from a plenty of dishes and fruits. You have also menu dedicated for kids. Beds are comfortable. If you want to go to the city they have shuttle bus every half an hour which is very convenient. I would come back to this hotel again,

water slides are open from 11-15, which is too short plus during our stay only one was working. Aricondition make a lot of noise. it would be great if the hotel provided a computer for guests to arrange boarding pass for example.

This Hotel had mixed reviews and we were concerned, however it met and exceeded our expectations in a number of ways. Our swim up suite was really nice bearing in mind this is a family hotel. Staff were superb and helped whenever requested, The Mai is really well placed next to the beach out of the busy Khao Lakh resort. Beach bars/restaurants are excellent. Breakfast was good and the Hotel was really clean room cleaning was excellent we did need to ask for more supplies once but this was dealt with within 5 mins. Maintenance we’re working really hard with decking etc which was uneven but as adults without mobility issues this was a minor issue. Breakfast was great lots of choice but for me fresh omelette daily is hard to beat.

Everything is ok. The staff is helpful and speaks good English. Good air-conditioning system, comfortable bed, well equipped bathroom. Very varied breakfast. Nice and cheap Massage on the beach, on the left side.

As very often happens, problem is with Coffee. If this is important to you, be prepared to solve this problem yourself. "Jacuzzi" in swimming pools are old and broken. In our pool-access room it was very difficult to turn it on.

Service is good, staff is very helpful and friendly, hotel enviroment is good, they take care of it, hotel services like food, drink and beverages is not expensive, compare to another 5stars accomodations, i can say it's cheap, they have parking and many other services.

Room is not very clean — someone’s hair in the bathroom, dirty mirror, and the balcony door locker doesn’t work. Extreme humidity in the room (because the pool is very close to the rooms), which causes a constant bad smell. If you want to book a spa and stay only a short time, forget it — there’s a one-week waiting list. Breakfast is pathetic. At the very least, I expected freshly cooked eggs, but they’re pre-cooked and just left on a tray, so if you want eggs, be ready to eat them cold. And the final shot is the food. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m a huge fan of Thai food — I absolutely love it. But every Thai dish they serve here? Not even close. Not at all.

The heat

Two separate locations for breakfast with very good international buffet! Many on-site restaurants as well as on-the-beach local private restaurants. It is a huge resort with direct access to the beach. And kudos to the well-trained service staff! Good for family with kids. A huge water play areas for kids as well. And ample parking space too. Last but not least, Khao Lak is one of the best destinations in Thailand for those travelers who appreciate nature and tranquility of a small town with ample scenic locations for road trips.

A large property, is well maintained, large rooms, offers in House activities for families, has variety of food options. Close to great beachside restaurants / Massages / mini mart

It’s remote, a big property with no ambience … property is long and if staying an entrance end is a long walk to beach… Property does offer golf cart service for beach and rooms, Sean is just fabulous with the carts👏

Loved all the pools, great to have all the variety. Our room was perfect for our 2 little children. Beds were all massive and super comfortable. Children loved the shows each night, kept them so entertained. Pool bar was great and massive buffet breakfast. Beach was fantastic with great shops and restaurants nearby.

We did not enjoy the buffet dinner so ate out each night. Some areas of the hotel needed an update but did not spoil our stay at all.

Lovely room with sea view as described, beautiful pools, excellent location on beach with lots of restaurants within short walk on the beach, tui staff amazing and hard working to entertain day and night.

Bit far out from main centre but hotel puts on a free shuttle bus back and fore which worked well but finished at around 4pm
