Nice hotel with a lovely setting directly at the beach. The beach is quiet and calm - no noisy boats and water jets. Not much shops and restaurants in walking distance, but it’s not that important when you are here, as the resort are really good. In case you want to see something else than the resort, then there are possibilities. There are a restaurant and bar at the neighbor plot - but do your self a favor and walk 50-100 meter further to “Be friends” restaurant. We felt a better vibe and ambience there. The resort has spa treatments and there are also alternatives 5 meters away on the beach. Taxi available on the other side of the street. Don’t expect to negotiate prices - all are charging 400 baht to go to Khao Lak Center. A mini market is available at the other side of the street and approx. 50 meter away. Other places to visit: Pam’s restaurant (thai) Bang Niang market (check opening days) Ojoei restaurant (sushi) Great breakfast !

“Mandatory” hand sanitizing at the breakfast restaurant would be good. Air condition systems are loud on some rooms.

We loved everything about this resort. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The design of the place is stunning, and the pool is delightful, situated right next to the serene and clean beach of the hotel. The service is excellent, and the staff members are courteous and accommodating. The breakfast is delicious and diverse. The hotel's restaurant is a bit pricier compared to local options in Thailand, as are the massage services. However, there are two local restaurants near the beach, as well as massage services available at a third of the price.

This place stands up to its claim of being a luxury hotel. High quality service and comfort. The staff was the absolute best. Always smiling and greeting you and making sure you are in comfort.

Nothing except that one receptionist who wasn’t looking very happy, so I felt a bit awkward to talk to her. May be she had a bad day. I didn’t mind so much.

The Outrigger is really a top hotel! One of the best we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels around the world. The service is exceptional. The staff is so friendly and they fulfill every wish! The hotel facilities and rooms are very good. The food is really very good. The hotel is also great for families. We were there with our 3 year old and 6 month old daughter and my mother. There is a kids club. The room is lovingly furnished with wooden toys. The caregivers were so nice and sweet to our kids. Were able to drop them off with a clear conscience. They also made great things together. What we also liked very much that it is not too touristy where the hotel is located. You have your peace and quiet here. We traveled afterwards to Koh Lanta in a 5 star hotel, which was twice as expensive. The rooms, the staff, the kids club, the food etc. was all worse than at the Outrigger. I really recommend the Outrigger Hotel to everyone.The hotel is really unique good. We will be happy to come back! :-).

Returning guests and another wonderful stay !! My husband and I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions (former Manathai) and were so happy to return and to be greeted by a few friendly familiar faces, especially Wap who never fails to make our stay a special one. So thank you once again Wap, your commitment to providing exceptional customer service is truly part of the driving force behind the hotels success. We love everything about this resort. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained and the room service superb – a special thank you to Tao who serviced our room to perfection. The hospitality is extraordinary – all the guests are made to feel welcome and valued. The location is perfect, away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The beach is idyllic and uncrowded - the perfect place to relax.

We chose Khao Lak because it is supposed to be quiet and unspoilt and we didn't want to be at a party resort. The hotel is in a lovely position right on the beach with spectacular sunsets. The pool is a great size and if you are there early in the morning you can sometimes be the only one there. We only had breakfast a few times but there was a good choice. The staff are wonderful in this hotel. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Another bonus was the great small beach shack type restaurants within easy reach of the hotel if you fancied eating out of the hotel

This is very much a family friendly resort so if you are travelling without children you should bear this in mind. The quietness of the hotel and beach were spoilt a couple of times by very loud wedding parties in the neighbouring hotel The Avani, thumping music from 11am to 5pm which could be heard right at the other end of the beach a couple of kilometres away. If the resort as a whole wants to remain an oasis of peace I think this is something that needs to be addressed.

The hotel describes itself as a 5 star. It’s not. It’s a good 4 star hotel. Service is good but not luxury. Not enough staff at reception or at beach! Bathroom toiletries basic. In a 5 star you would expect a high end brand with environmental values! All toiletries had to be ordered via app. We gave up! Beach towels are old and dirty! Would expect a better product. Sports equipment not enough of it! Detail to attention missing! No life guard !

Nice property with a beautiful garden that runs through the whole hotel, from the reception all the way along to the beach.

Only one restaurant open for dinner (the pool bar/restaurant) and the food quality was just average. A bit disappointing.

Staying at this resort was a very pleasant and relaxing experience. Unlike other properties I frequented in Thailand, here it is easy to understand that the owners invest a lot in the constant maintenance of rooms, gardens and equipment on the beach. So, no beach beds with ugly plastic coverings, signs of humidity and rust, bad smells, tired bed mattresses bristling with springs and so on. Everything is perfect and made having in mind good taste (the interior architecture of the villas, Cape Cod style, is bright), comfort (starting from the bed mattresses) and functionality. Another peculiarity, very rare, is that at Outrigger the management is present, visible, attentive, and not barricaded in some office. The staff is motivated, competent and kind, the barman is a good connoisseur of western cocktails. Excellent and rich breakfast. Lunch and dinner menu also includes non-Thai specialties and is translated into well-crafted dishes that can be enjoyed by candlelight on the beach. For families with small children (here numerous and not always polite) there is also a children's playroom with dedicated nannies and a large shallow pool.

The whole resort was fantastic. Uber clean and sparkly. The staff obviously took great pride in maintaining this resort. They even cleaned and raked the beach. Also the staff themselves were helpful and finally, it must have been tje biggest most comfortable bed, I have ever slept in. Finally, the beach was to die for.

Everything was overpriced As the resort is quite isolated, the cost of getting out and about was seriously expensive. 400 thb for a short taxi ride. The resort had limited shuttle, evenings only for 100 thb but then you missed the evening activities at the resort such as 2 4 1 cocktails.
