Great hotel, lovely decorated, big green area with a lot of attention to details. Nice pool area with easy access to the beach (via stairs). The hotel is big but there were always enough sun beds available and it was quiet at the beach facing sunbed area. The breakfast was good, the villas beautiful with an outdoor shower and huge rooms. The location was also perfect. Within a few steps, you have plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, night market, massage places and there are plenty of them.

Mukdara is a wonderful place, with a lot of tranquility, Thai-style rooms that are clean and spacious. The hotel’s garden is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of greenery, and the pools are clean, large, and lovely. The hotel staff is very friendly. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. 🌿🏊‍♂️🌟

Lush Gardens, clean modern rooms, especially the bathroom. No need for a taxi to Bang Niang market, shops and bars/ restaurants. All walkable.

The smoking, coming from other rooms? Balconies, into our non smoking room.

Beautiful grounds and pools, perfectly clean. The restaurant has an amazing daily breakfast that has everything from traditional breakfast offerings to Thai and other Asian entrees all on a buffet. Its just lovely. The two pools are also lovely, one beachfront by the bar and restaurant and the other central to the property. I had a self contained bungalow that was giant with a king bed and a bathroom that was as big as some entire hotel rooms I have stayed in! There are bungalows and traditional hotel rooms all with balconies which is a plus. The staff is overly accommodating and there to do absolutely anything for you, they were all so wonderful. There is an opportunity to tip at the end or you can tip at the restaurant all at once if you prefer. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner as well as special night buffets. I did both the Thursday night buffet and the Sunday dinner buffet which were both amazing. The value is also very good as I would consider this a 5 star resort in every sense. If this place was in Hawaii it would be over $1000 night, easily. It is right on the beach so sunset is always beautiful. Also the location is in the heart of the Khoa Lak area by the beach, not up on highway. This part of Khao Lak has a million restaurants, shops, cafes, bakeries, coffee, bars and the incredible Bang Niang Market which as far as I can tell is open almost all the time. Its a must visit! I highly recommend the Mukdara!

The little mini fridge in my room did not work, I did report it and as far as I can tell someone did come and check it but it still didn't work. Could have been a miscommunication but it was not a big deal. The bar will supply you with as much ice as you will ever need. Ice is sometimes either not available or you will get just a glass of ice so having ice available is great, it is hot and humid! The bar at the big central pool had posted hours that didn't quite seem to match when it was open. I think that it might have depended more on how busy the pool was as opposed to the posted hours. Again, not a big deal but it would have been nice to have this bar open. The bar and restaurant at the beachfront pool was however open all day front breakfast until late.

Very much enjoyed the size and location of our villa (257) not too close to the pool/beach nor the restaurant and enjoyed therefore the quietness and privacy. Enjoyed the many singing birds. The pool area is lovely too (including a honey moon pool ?) but we only enjoyed to swim in the very warm ocean. The breakfast buffet is generous and we appreciated a delicious and freshly made cappuccino (at additional cost) for breakfast. The room service meals were also very nice. For dinner and lunches we enjoyed the large variety of restaurants near by. Also plenty of shops in the within short walks.

The check in time is a little inflexible - we arrived approx at 10:00 AM - although we used the pool area and restaurant to kill time - but we would have loved to have a cool rest after the long flight.

Villa was beautiful, bed very comfortable. Room service excellent and staff perfect. Room service (meals) was available although we didn't use it often once we understood the way things were done. We will miss the amazing shower and always plenty of hot and cold water. Breakfast was fantastic with every choice anyone would want. Plenty of tables both inside and out. Restaurant was situated outside by the beach in the evening and all meals that we had there were excellent. Outside facilities were outstanding. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, on the beach in both shade and full sun for those who enjoy it. Swimming pools were incredibly clean and well maintained with a favourite being the water bar in the late afternoon. Beautiful infinity pool. We did not use the spa facilities or the gym. Easy access to Khao Lak local shops, bars, restaurants (food amazing everywhere we sampled), and entertainment. Some of our party did a trip to the waterfall, about half an hour's taxi ride from resort, which they enjoyed.

Lighting in the villa was not the best, although we had lamps, hidden lighting above the bed and rest area. Other lighting in bathroom and desk area which was too bright . There was no decent lighting for applying makeup for ladies. A minor thing possibly. Chairs and small rest beds were not comfortable for us (we are getting on in years). Also we were with friends and liked to play cards in the villa after dinner, there was nowhere that was comfortable to sit and play. Outside Villa verandah sitting lounges were very uncomfortable.

Lovely resort, right on the beach with plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Lovely staff, very helpful and friendly. Very clean at all times. Great breakfast buffet with plenty of coffee and tea being brought to your table. Functional gym, equipment a bit tired but definitely fit for purpose for "Holiday maintenance workouts". Great location for trips to on and offshore nature reserves.

I can see why some reviews describe some parts of the decor as dated, but that really shouldn't detract from this being a great place to stay in khao lak.

Staff were very accommodating, great facilities. The swim up bar is a very cool and the beach pool was also really beautiful for sunset. The property is nearby to great food options and a huge market which is open most days. The buffet breakfast was nice as well and served by the beach.

We had some problems with the room, when we arrived at check in time our room hadn’t been cleaned yet so we had a wander around the property to see the beach and the pools which was quite nice, but when we got let into our room it was still dirty from the last guest, there was food in the fridge and the curtains were dirty and broken. Housekeeping cleaned the fridge but couldn’t do anything about the curtains. Also the room wasn’t cleaned during our stay either which meant the bin in the bathroom was very full and the floors were sandy. We stayed at some far cheaper places that made up the room each day so this was confusing for us.

Placed on the beach with many farang bars and restaurants around. The place is secluded and quiet and my guess is the avarage age of the gusts is 60+. Bed was comfortable and soft enough for my back. Not a huge breakfast buffet but for three nights it was enough to not get tired of what was offered. Had dinner one night as well and the Thai food was great. Large rooms with an old thai style design which we liked. Very friendly and helpful staff. We will very likely come back next time we visit the southern part of Thailand.

Aircondition broke down and even after repair did not provide the cooling required. Short term fixed by the hotel providing a fan as well which worked fine for us.
