The staffs are very responsible and helpful. I checked in late, but the host arranged safety guard to help me. He also gave me advises of transportation, food and sightseeings which are very thoughtful. Even after I checked out, the host helped me to book a taxi to airport and a massage before my flight. The room is clean and bed is comfortable. This place made me feel like home. Definitely I will come back for my next trip in Bangkok! Thank you very much!

This is not directly related to the staff and hotel itself. I found it's a little bit far from downtown or city center. But if you want to explore the old city like visiting the grand plalace, it is very close. The blue line MRT is also very close.

PJ the host is wonderful, very informative and helpful. This Hotel is easy to find and just around the corner from a 7Eleven, little Temple night market, some local street food vendors and a short walk from Indy Market (don't miss it!!) The bedroom was relatively dark and the bed was comfortable. The rooftop was a delightful and understated surprise.

There is a lot of noise very early in the morning, we were woken up each morning to various sounds whether birds, dogs or street vendors honking horns, shouting and ringing bells to gain attention. The kitchen has very limited amenities. There are a couple of plates, knives and forks with a sponge to wash up but you certainly couldn't cook or do much more than heat up food.

I loved it as soon as I seen it Then I met PJ, and it felt like we had always known one another so helpful, so friendly he and his wonderful wife ! both welcomed me with smiles on arrivals. Then when seeing my room I thought there must have been a mix up and they had gave me a more fancy and upgraded room than the one I had paid for. I'd recommend everyone to stay here .

It's not just here it's pretty much everywhere in the world. Walls are usually too thin and if you get quiet neighbours you're really lucky.!

This is THE place I always choose to stay in Bangkok. I have been to Bangkok many times and stayed in many places over the years. Sunset is my absolute favorite. PJ is the absolute best.. a nicer guy you will not meet.. he is wonderful!! Sunset has it all. For the tourist stuff you are only a short bus ride from Khao San area. The bus stop is very close by and a whole bunch of buses that can take you all over. You are also walking distance to the blue line of the metro which is the best way to get around Bangkok with no frustrating traffic! There are shopping malls within walking distance. There is a vegan cafe within a few blocks. There are coffee shops all over. And on the way from Sunset Residence to the bus stop is a fantastic massage place where we got daily (sometimes twice a day) fantastic massages from very professional staff. The rooms at Sunset Residence are all excellent!! Clean. Equipped with fridge, coffee maker etc. Water bottles daily. Coffee sachets daily. New towels daily. There are also amenities downstairs.. a Keurig coffee maker you can buy the cups for as you need them. Books. A little area to sit. There is a security guard all night long so you feel safe. Staff are friendly and helpful. This place is the BEST. Book it, you will not be disappointed.

There is nothing not to like about this place.

Fantastic contact with the owner. Clean and tidy rooms. The hotel is a bit away from the city's main tourist attractions, but... located in a district with few tourists, so you can get to know not only the touristic Bangkok. In the neighbourhood, there is excellent food at excellent prices. Nearby is a square where we will find several small bars and plenty of food stalls on the neighbouring streets. About 200 meters from the hotel is the beautiful Wat Bang Yi Khan temple. From the hotel, a 15-minute walk to the Phra Pinklao Bridge, where we can take a boat to the most important attractions. Nearby, there are, of course, several 7/11 stores and about 1.5 km Central Pinklao - a large shopping centre.

My time here was absolutely wonderful! I had just moved to Thailand, and was having a lot of accommodation issues, so I booked here last minute and I am so glad that I did! It is a family run business, and they truly care about each guest and go to great lengths to ensure that you have a wonderful stay. The place was spotlessly clean, I loved the room layout and appreciated the fridge, sink and tea kettle in the room! In the shared area is a microwave, books to read, travel guide and a big map of the area that shows places of interest. It was a very quiet place and super sound proofed as I never heard anyone beside me or above. It also has a lift/elevator, which is great to take luggage up but also kids and stoller etc. It is a very safe area, has a vending machine right outside, was easy for taxi and food delivery to find, and in walking distance of 7-11, laundry, etc. I highly recommend this hotel!

I think the only thing is that it is far from the metro. But, Grab taxis are super cheap and much faster anyway, so I would just use them anyway.

Really nice rooms, with the bedroom that can be closed off is definitely a perk. This helped with our son who went to sleep before we did. We could sit in the living area with a light on a read without disturbing him. Friendly host, who is very responsive to questions and requests. Rooms are very clean and a basic kitchenette with a few plates and cutlery (including a sharp knife and butter knife - which is rare to see in Thailand).

This is really nit-picking, the place is great, but some things to mention: It is located in a quiet area so you don't get outside noise but you can hear other occupants walking down the hall and opening and closing their room doors, but that is normal for hotels. There are only three or four parking spots available for the whole establishment. We were asked to reserve one before we arrived, but even though the place was almost fully booked out we were the only car there. This is probably because most people who stay here are tourists and don't have there own vehicles.

We came back, 6 years after our first stay in 2019. It was great again. Very clean, the owners are more than friendly and helpful, there is a daily room service if needed and the bed is very comfy. The rooftop terrace is perfect to enjoy the evenings overlooking Bangkok. We really love the location: you have the Indy night market, a Skytrain station and everything else you need within 10 minutes walking distance. We would come back any time again.

Rooms are small but designed perfectly, i have had more expensive rooms and not have sofas and kitchenette in them and those rooms were about same size, just an amazing place to stay. Staff was excellent and hats off to PJ the Manager, they are always there to help if needed. Inner city, easy walk to 7/11 and short walk to market. A great experience for great rates, and i will stay again. I was very impressed with the rooms and service. Area is quiet.

no hardships, maybe i would say not easy access to BTS or MRT.

Sunset Residence is great in every sense, which is why I keep coming back and I've never thought of looking for another place to stay whenever I'm in Bangkok. The hosts always give you a warm welcome, the whole building is exceptionally clean, the rooms are comfy, and the wi-fi is perfect for remote workers such as a myself. It's a bit away from the main tourist area, but in my view that's a huge plus as the neighborhood is much quieter at night and has a more local vibe than the old town. Yet everything is still easily accessible by MRT, Grab, or on foot. All in all, I've always had an amazing experience at Sunset Residence and I can't recommend it enough. Hopefully, will be back next year!

Honestly, I have nothing to complain about. The hosts are always willing to go the extra mile to make you feel at home. If any issue occurs, it will be resolved in an instant.
